They are beautiful💜 I'm so happy with the progress you made and that you are happy!!! I have 3 black cats and my 6 year old boy cat acts like Globex. He loves his own voice and will meow in the hallway or a certain area in the kitchen for the extra acoustic elevation when he really wants to ham it up😂 The others are vocal, but a bit more chill. I love hearing about and seeing the personality differences of your cats. They are so freaking cute.

My family have a "summer cat" (like neighborhood cats) at our summer home (we're not rich, it was made with blood sweat and tears) and one of them is a orange male who's very vocal and cuddly. The other current one is very spicy but our orange one sounds like a chain smoker even though he's still young, it love to take him home but I can't as it stands right now

My aunt had to sleep with the cats locked out for a year, then she happened to leave the door open and slept like a baby with the cats in the bed. So they did grow out of it (they are 2 young feral males) and now they sleep together regularly.

This has been so refreshing XD I have a cat (Lance <3 ) that's ALOT like Globex in terms of hyperactivity and vocal habits and being not at all food motivated! But it's not often to hear stories from other people with the same kind of cat and wow is there a lack of advice out there that helps with training them! Getting a friend for mine also helped him calm down a fair bit - though mine is 4 and still a little WILD XD I will say one thing I found great for Lance's hyperactivity was actually harness training! I live in a high-rise so I don't have a yard but during the summer I take him to parks nearby and let him roam on a lead, (we also roam the halls in the winter if he gets too antsy and he's made neighbourhood friends! Its so cute!!) But a harness could be another way to get your kitties outside without needing to buy a big structure :)

You can adjust their eat sleep play cycle to a more human schedule somewhat with consistent care. If you are doing meals ( vs free feeding), delaying a feeding to night time helps as they naturally sleep afterwards. In a similar vein, a good way to keep them from waking you at the crack of dawn is not to feed as soon as you get up but to wait til later in the day. When you get up and they come looking for their usual earlier meal, use that opportunity to engage them in play. Never withhold water of course. I feed my cats two wet meals a day and there is always dry and water down.

Ignoring bad behaviour / rewarding good is dog advice. Cats are more nuanced.

I DO NOT RECOMMEND A SHIBA INU!!!! lmao they are extremely independent and stubborn. They are an ancient breed, I don’t advise them at all for a first time dog owner. They DO NOT care what you want compared to other breeds, it’s all about them and they require a lot of negotiation 😆😂 If you want to explore a bunch of breeds in person and talk to a lot of wonderful and really knowledgeable people, I definitely recommend going to the annual Meet the Breeds event in New York! It would make an excellent video as well! You may very well encounter a breed you’ve never heard of that ends up being perfect for you! I hiiiighly recommend getting yourself a light, flexible cat toy pole (looks like a little fishing rod) where you can use different attachments so you can play with him more properly. Check out Jackson Galaxy videos for more inspiration, but it’ll REALLY help establish the biological routine that you want. Cats want to hunt, catch, kill, eat, groom, sleep. So playing with Globex before food time can be a big help in him calming down after he eats. Playing with them before bed can also help them to settle down when it’s time to sleep! I got these little mouse attachments made from deer hair or bison fur for my cat and she goes NUTS for them!! My sister’s cats immediately went for them too. To play with him properly, you want him to really RUN fast for a long stretch if you can, get his “motor going” as Jackson Galaxy says. Although even him staring intently at a toy while it’s flying around in the air is great for draining their mental energy. Make him use the environment, try different ways of moving the toy - my cat loves when the toy creeps along a wall or something like a mouse trying to stay hidden, a lot of cats like when the toy disappears around the corner and things like that. Some cats like jumping in the air too! Also helps if you move things around in the house so that they can navigate the majority of a room without touching the floor.

Thank you for keeping your cats inside! You can't convince me that people who let their cats outside actually love them, with all of the awful things that can happen to them. Inside kitties are safe kitties

🤣 you have a bratty child who is vocal! I have one and he will sit and cry like he is missing his favorite person even though theyre right in front of him. You can have a full on conversation with him when he gets to talking! He's 10 now and has been like it since we got him at 8 weeks, we rescued him and his Momma who was still technically a baby herself when she had her kittens 😢

Cats will calm down and meow less the more you play with them. They need about an hour playtime per day.

For me it's so strange to not let a cat out! I am french, maybe, it's a question of culture habits! Globex is very vocal, because, I think, he wants to go out! Cats like dogs, need to explore, smell and observe new things everyday. Cats are not gregarous animals as dogs or even humans! Cats that grew and live as wild cats, never live in groups. They are a solitary species. They can appreciate each other, and become very close sometimes, but don't be surprised if they don't make a tight bound as time passes! But I should say that you are a so nice and attentive cat's human!!! And don't forget, for cats, your house is not yours!!! They are the owners!!!😂😂😂 I absolutely love cats,🐈

your kitties have the same dynamic as two of my fur babies, sky and jasper. sky is like linguo, well behaved n sleepy but sheds a lot (also very white/light in colour). and jasper is like globex, orange, very vocal and hyperactive boy. both are from the same litter, but they are complete opposites of each other lol

I'm so glad I stumbled upon this video because I've been dealing with very similar issues with my cat, Soup. He's about 4-5 months old and not very interested in food, loves playing with aluminum that is supposed to keep him away from the furniture, and has been causing a lot of trouble. We even tried using a water spray to stop his bad behavior, but it doesn't seem to work. He’s already broken or knocked over several things and even tried to go into the air vent, which was really scary. Unfortunately, I don’t have enough space to get a second cat, but it’s such a relief to know I’m not the only one struggling with these challenges or finding that the "classic" methods I’ve seen online don’t work. Thank you for sharing this-it really helps to not feel so alone!
