As a fellow guitarist, I can tell you this is a prime example of not needing all the notes & flashy techniques....you just need the right notes full of passion & a beautiful melody to reach into the listeners heart & embrace it. Beautiful track. Took me to scene in a Paris cafe in the 1920's. Beautifully played my brother.

Yours is the first comment that I see & I could not have expressed it better. Exquisite & I feel the longing & the passion. From a 64 yr old Hungarian girl living in Melbourne, Australia. My beloved father played a gorgeous mean violin! He was fantastic! He'd have many garnerings of fellow Hungarians~ ge was very social, liked meeting people. I am exactly like him in this way also. He'd come in front of me, look me in the eyes and each time he would begin the evening's music & entertainment ~ he would serenade me with one tune. I cannot as yet give this tune a name, but this all seems to be strongly coming up for me of late with memories. 🌹🌿

I love how understated and subtle your playing is. You are so incredibly talented, but are confident enough in your abilities to never feel the need to overplay or rely unnecessarily on flashy technique where the style of the music doesn't warrant it. This makes you even more talented, to my ear. The entire Unchained Melodies album is stunning, and Lisbon is such a standout. Thank you for all the beauty!
@MashaT225 ай бұрын
This entire album is the epitome of gorgeous. This song has classic French vibes from yesteryear and a time gone by. The understated vibe of the video shows how people in France used to relish in the simple life, such as enjoying a sunny day at home (or a good coffee at an outdoor café in the prior song’s video). There are still people who value these things, but most people are too busy hurrying, working, staring at screens, and being preoccupied with other things to notice how beautiful life is when you slow down and take in the beauty around us. Guitar tabs for the rhythm and lead sections of the songs on this album would be highly appreciated for us guitar players who want to try learning the songs. I mean, an intermediate player should be able to figure out much of it by ear and watching you play, but the tabs would help to get some of those finer nuances with the techniques you’re using. I love the finger-style technique you’re using here to anchor your little finger on the high e string to get those faster notes (sounds like triplets that you seem to be alternate picking with your thumb?). A lot of the songs on this album seem quite doable for most guitarists to play, which is awesome. Thanks, Romain! This album and these accompanying videos are just such a beautiful gift you’ve given us!

I agree so much!!! I recently did an apple music station of the ‘Radios killed the Blues’ (after my 25th time listening to it) I wasn’t head over heels over most of the songs, but then one really caught my attention. Pulled my phone out and sure enough, it was a Romain tune! Keep it up! When TBP re-emerges, you will all be so developed, that amazing things will happen. Love your varied output! Deeper themes, instrumentals, soft songs, rockers… keep it up… and don’t be afraid to get help from the reaction community and Ren to promote! It’s not wrong to want to grow and spread out and even money aint bad😂

I grew up in Lisbon, and your music has a nice ring of Fado à la Romain. I'm always impressed by how you keep the music "simple." I first discovered your music through a playlist that included "Paris," perhaps because of Ren. I didn't know then that you were in The Big Push. I immediately froze in front of the TV, captivated and analyzing your playing style and technique (I also play a bit of guitar), and stood there watching until the music was over. I thought ... nope he was lucky with that tune! Then I saw another video of yours, and another, and I thought, how can this guy create such music and maintain the consistency of these beautiful melodies? My kid also loves your music, so you're always in the house. Great style, great music, great artist!

Please don’t get offended by this, but…. I can finally play some of my KZbin faves for my wife and kids!!!!! Added your album to our playlist “Board Games” lovely to listen to in the background while sipping red wine, enjoying a lazy summer evening outside, playing a game of backgammon with one of the kids, listening to the birds, feeling the soft breeze. ‘Elevator music’ is so underrated. You can make a serious living providing soothing backgrounds for people’s fond memories of real life. There is a guitarist named Phil Keaggy, now in his mid 70s, who I consider one of the greatest guitarists ever. However, he is not very famous, but he is super prolific. Of all the rock, blues, pop things he has ever done, his instrumental album from 1978, The Master and The Musician, is his best selling album. Not ground-breaking, but is perfect for background music. Not too repetitive like smooth jazz where it drives you crazy, but not too weird and dynamic like classical music where its hard to have consistency in the background. Sorry for the long comment: just some of my initial thoughts after listening to the entire album…
