Words cannot even express my thanks to you. For some reason the past few years of my life I have been so intrigued by this part of history, especially with Spartacus. Can you even believe this was real?!! I mean Spartacus was RIGHT THERE! WHAT A CRAZY BELIEF SYSTEM AND HISTORY WE HAVE!

This is one of my favorite walks. There is just so much to explore and it is always quiet. Yeah, it is crazy to think about all that has taken place at this one site!

Chris Holt same here. I love Roman history and the era of Spartacus. I am currently reading "Spartacus " by Howard Fast. It's somewhat different than the 1960 epic but, still, intriguing. I appreciate the walk through the Gladiator Museum. Thank you Prowalk tours! These walks make one feel like they are right there!

Anfiteatro spettacolare, completo nella parte sottostante, costruito prevalentemente con blocchi di pietra. Poco pubblicizzato ma grazie a ciò la visita in solitaria regala suggestioni indimenticabili. Bravo prowalk!👏👏👏👏👏👏

I cannot express my great appreciation for what you do and I cannot get enough of your videos. The camera quality, the way in which you film, positions angle even your pauses are spot on! Not to mention the audio, it's like people we would pass while sightseeing! I am not sure if you realize this, but you provide an experience that is so immediate, it's like ...ALMOST being there..LIVE. Thank you for what you do, thank you thank you thank you. You bring us shear Joy! I truly hope millions of KZbinrs subscribe to your channel to support what you do. You have a gift for it! You've turned us into Living room tourists! Lol...in a good way!! And In these difficult challenging and unpredictable times, perhaps it's just what the doctor ordered. Thank you. As the Italians would say...Auguri e tante belle cose.

Hi Maria, thank you so much for those kind words of encouragement! I really enjoy making the videos and it's great to know people enjoy watching them. I have many more planned and several that I am currently working on. It's been fun watch the subscriber base grow too. Hopefully I can bring something different and unique to KZbin. Thanks for watching!

Thank you so much. This was the next best thing to actually being there. What I wouldn't give to be able to retrace and see the road Spartacus actually walked. Rome has such a brutal, and yet amazingly intense history that I just can't seem to satisfy my curiosity enough. I know what happened there wasn't pretty, but even after all the time that has passed, it sure is beautiful to see.

Thank you for a great video! Not too fast or slow. You stop at interesting things and let us get a good look at it. Much appreciation for the added history statements so we have an even better understanding of what we are seeing. Thank You for not adding music! The natural sounds of your walk lets us feel that we are experiencing it with you. Keep up the excellent work! :-)

Wow! Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed the video. The Capua amphitheater is one of my favorite places to go just because you can wander around without any crowds. Let me know if there is any place you'd like to see around here. Thanks again!

I really enjoyed this walk and the detail that you were able to show. I have just started using headphones and it does enhance the experience! I like hearing your footfall and feel as if I am there with you. I liked hearing the sound of the dove fluttering its wings, and I even heard a fly round my right ear, while you were walking round the outside of the ruins, and even lifted my hand to brush it away - such was the realistic experience! Please keep making these videos. You camera work is superb.

I enjoyed this walk through. One can combine this experience with what you see at the coliseum to create a fuller picture of what the structures must have been like when they were in good working order. Thanks for doing these videos. They're like Rick Steves w/out the narration and focusing on architecture instead of commercialism.

Yeah, I did the Colosseum, Pozzuoli Amphitheater and the Campanian Amphitheater and they all have something different to offer. I also did the Pompeii Amphitheater but I still need to post that one.

As I'm walking towards the amphitheater, on your left you see some stones all around on the ground. Those are part of the amphitheater where Spartacus trained. If you look at it on Google earth you can see the shape of the amphitheater in the grass..but most of it is covered up.

The current state is due to the fact that our ancestors, in the Middle Ages, took the greater stones to build other places, like they did in the Castello delle Pietre (Castle of the Stones) in Capua where you can see these great marbles and columns rearranged

Spartacus had been dead for around 150 years before this was built, or at least 75 years prior to the original amphitheatre. It is more likely that Spartacus and his peers fought in wooden semicircular theatres and not large stone amphitheatres like this one.
