As a critical care nurse which with 2 little ones, the seizure issue with kids is very real with high fevers and even though we know that can happen, it still scares the shit out of me and I work hard to prevent it. This happened to my 19 month old recently, but just before getting to the completely out period, I stripped her down to her diaper, and applied cold wet wash cloths to her head and groin areas. This will piss them off but it gets the fever down when no meds will and you can avoid seeing your child in the severely lethargic state.

I have lost my 18 and 23 yo to SUDEP in the last two years. I HATE seizures! MY 18 yo had seizures from 9 months to 5 years when he was sick. They each were diagnosed with epilepsy 4 years before they died. I can be so serious and so many people are unaware of SUDEP.

What happened to Knox with the fever and the seizure is called a "FEBRILE SEIZURE". It happened to both of my kids (separate times of course). The first time it happened, I had the same reaction as Roman and Brit. But then when it happened the second time to my other child(several years later), I handled it much better. Still a very scary event but I was more informed.

My daughter was 2 and that happened to us. I took her to the hospital and she had a second one. She needed oxygen. It’s because the fever spikes rapidly without warning. Personally I wouldn’t take a chance with an unconscious baby.
