Roman is doing a wonderful work in this area of mental health, both for young and also older people, but he needs to take care of himself too, he seems a fine young man. There is obviously something going wrong that so many young people are suffering with mental health problems. Now I have to be honest here and say that it was something that as young people in my generation (born in the 50s) we really never heard of. Now some of it was probably underground - people did not talk about those things in those days, but I don’t think that really explains it. I genuinely believe that there are pressures today which we did not have to cope with. Having said all that, I do believe that a great deal of it is self-inflicted or put upon young people by those with an agenda or those wishing to make money out of them. I see young people walking along the road with their noses stuck on their mobile phones (adults are doing it too) and blindly walking along totally unaware of the world around them, instead they should be listening to the sounds of nature and even whatever is going on around them, as this ‘grounds’ them to reality and the real world. I bet if you asked someone doing this what they had seen and heard in the last 200 yards say, they would not be able to tell you! The celebrity and ‘popular music’ culture does not help them either. These ‘celebrities’ and ‘influencers’ etc are probably living lives of chaos and failure, but they pretend to be successful and ‘living the life’, when in reality a few years down the line you will hear of their suicide or drug taking! If they were really ‘living the life’, they would not be doing those things or in that position. So in reality - and that is what we are aiming for, these people that so many look up to are just conning young people and are complete failures. The breakdown in family life has to be taken into account also. Couples stuck together through thick and thin years ago for the sake of the children, but today it seems as soon as there is a slight problem couples are separating or at the divorce courts. Too many immature people are getting together and having children, and then cannot cope with the pressures of family life and split, leaving the children with abandonment and anxiety problems, which can develop into full blown mental illnesses. No amount of tax-payers money spent on mental health services is going to cure this modern phenominum, but services provided by schools and charities can help a lot, and publicity and awareness created by people such as Roman are all to the good and commendable. But unless we get young people helping themselves by connecting with the real world and stopping listening to the fantasy world of social media and celebrity culture, and homes become places of stability and calm, then this new ‘pandemic’ will only continue.

People need to start taking responsibility for their own lives and not be looking to others to cure their problems and start helping themselves. It is too easy to blame others and say the ‘government’ should be doing this or that. It is this attitude of dependence and expecting others to ‘pick up the pieces’ that has led to this big increase in mental health problems. Most people could do a lot to help themselves by stopping concentrating on their own problems and getting out and helping other’s with theirs - whatever that may be. Also putting away ‘social media’ and the other nonsenses that have sprung up in recent times would help a lot of people. Stopping drinking and stopping smoking would also do many people good. The Pub Landlord is not your ‘friend’ - he is just using you and taking you for a fool ! There are serious mental health problems that are unavoidable, but so much of what is touted as ‘mental health issues’ these days is just self inflicted and could be avoided.

He's clearly a totaly decent, caring, Youngh guy. But having both access to affluent parents, relatives and friends, is a huge help. I struggle pretty badly. No family to help in UK. I'm an educated man. Very benevolent. I practice a lot of mediation. I need to As I'm also an M. E. Suffer and victim of domestic abuse so bad, i nearly died 3 times last year. I'm on just £250 a week. They're not renewing my bus pass. It's so painfull, I have partialy given up.. Only way to deal with the pressure. So nothing, nobody and physically ill. I live in faith alone.

You should not be a victim of domestic abuse, you need to inform someone. Do you have a health visitor or social worker? You must inform them, or your doctor. Keep strong!

Repeatedly saying about children and services in schools.. what about all of those that aren’t school age and have been let down by the system? If you ring 111 and you’re feeling suicidal they’ll say are you trying to commit suicide!de you say no but your feeling like it they say it’s not good enough and it’s not an emergency! You’re blocking the line! There’s no empathy and people that really shouldn’t be in those roles in. Those roles

Jeez, Roman Kemp is just so brave, by turning the death of his friend into ALL about him, the bravery he has, is just off the scale, he is braver than anyone in the world, & i really, really, mean that, & anyone who thinks that he IS using his friends death to further his career, is wrong, & also anyone who thinks that he is an attention seeking Z lister is also wrong. Like i said Roman,s bravery is fantastic, amazing, brilliant, & wonderful, & he has labelled himself as the "poster boy" for mental health among young people, & he has NOT only got his career because of his father, that's simply not true, keep up so keep up the attention seeking, err, i mean "mentu ewf" stuff, & if i could have just a fraction of his bravery, i would be very, very, very, brave.

If it could be proven that taking Loose Women off the air would improve the country's overall mental health, do you think ITV would take it off the air?
