Congratulations on completing a contender for the least intense/gut-wrenching book in the Cosmere! (you think I'm joking, but jeez, just wait until book 3- and even that is basically a lighthearted comedy compared to the least intense Stormlight book). When you first mentioned that you were annoyed by Elend, I thought to myself, "Yeah, for now you are, just wait- well, I bet you'll still hate him by the end of the first book, but by the end of the series I can 100% guarantee you will be singing a different tune about him." If you want to continue reading the Cosmere after finishing the trilogy but want to check out something lighter, I'd highly recommend Tress of the Emerald Sea, based on this video I think you will enjoy it a lot, it's quite a bit lighter/more whimsical than the other Cosmere books.

I really hope you go on to the second book because you are going to LOSE YOUR SHIT. PS It's one of the smallest books in the Cosmere, by the time you're on Stormlight you're reading books with like 1400 pages

There's a lot of things I could say, but all I'm gonna say for now is you absolutely need to read Mistborn: Secret History after the original trilogy. I think you'll enjoy it a lot. "There's always another secret"

​@@finnmyers7137 I agree, but some of the details are fresher after HoA. I say on the 2nd time around it is better there, but Bands is a better natural spot for it.

I have just started my Cosmere Journey, I have just finished Mistborn's book 1, now on the well of ascension whilst typing this. I am completely a new reader at 46 years old. I have set myself on a new path to improve myself with reading and developing this skill, hopefully, to birth a passion for reading. Wish me luck as I want to be you like guys who have this reading passion.
