Welcome to the 2nd part of the ROMANO BRITISH campaign it has been a few years since the launch and Britain is in the process of extricating itself from its predicament. The Western Roman Empire has been fallen for several years and the Western countries are fighting for supremacy. But the Eastern Roman Empire is no longer really stable and is also disintegrating over time. Now the question is whether a new Roman Empire will take this position or a new faction will rise.

I give my greetings to his grace, King Maximus the Unifier. I am a humble senator from Eboracum(York) and have come before you to offer my humble advice. It has come to attention that my fellow senators have proclaimed that they wish to unite Britannia, a worthy goal. However, I'd like to suggest starting with the lands of Hibernia(Ireland). The Pictlands were a threat to even the greatest of Emperors and whilst I don't doubt your military prowess I fell as if the safest course of action is to invade Hibernia(Ireland) due to its fractured state. I believe an efficient place to start should be conquering Insula Manavia(Isle of Man). Insula Manavia will make an important trading port for your future conquests at it grants swift access to both Hibernia and Pictland. I humbly request my advice is listened to at the very least. This may be a worthy endeavour but I personally think we should at least push our border a bit past land of the former Antonine Wall before any incursions into Hibernia.

@@nathanpiercy4744Senator Piercy, Whilst your reasoning is sound, there is a reason for why Antonine'a Wall was to be erected. If we conquer Insula Manavia and at the bare minimum the northern lands of Hibernia it would grant our legions two routes of attack. One party heads from the crownlands of Britannia and another from Hibernia. A two front attack would be more beneficial considering we have learnt that the Pictlands are united. I second this descesion But with a caveat.The Land of Hibernia should be settled by soldiers loyal the cause. That land is wild and the tribes there may revolt against whoever we leave in charge. Loyal Soldiers may prove the stern hand that will keep Hiberina in check. That land is also somewhat protected by Britannia from Raids by Germanic Tribes so developing the region may be fruitful.

If we are to expand I suggest we unite the islands of britannia, a thing that our forefathers failed to. As such we must focus on Scotland and after that take ireland. We should also avoid meddling with the affairs of the continent, britannia is strong enough alone and shouldn't focus her ressources in europe.

I petition the senate for a period of peace where expansion is halted, at least momentarily, and the economic development and military reinforcement of the realm can be focussed without the distraction of enemy armies and having the small economy struggle under the weight of the upkeep of our current army

Congratulations my liege, you have finally become a man. I would like to purpose a new idea for the Senate. I believe at the moment now that we have adopted autocratic ways that we should mainly focus on military laws so we can eventually exact Strategic Law which will allow us to react to a threat a lot faster than normal. While Diplomatic and Political are still essential, at this point we need to really get a strong enough army to react to barbaric invaders at an immediate and effective time.

I give you My humble advice Maximus King of the Britons and Romans of the Old Provience of Britannia. The Times are changing. While in the Days of Diocletion we had went under military reform we must do so again. We are under equipped to handle more barbarian Invasions both from the North,East,and West. We may seek more Allies from the Realms North of Germania, or We could Invite some warriors from across the see. There Household Guards are strong and there navigational skills are great. It would also be fruitful to build up defences along the saxon shoreline. I have a feeling that the northmen aren't through with our province just yet. The More Developed we become the fatter spoils these raiders can take from us. We can't defend every Beachhead so preparation is essential., Legatus and Senator Marcus.

We definitely have to make sure that we can defend the isle well in case of another attack. Because as you said, poor preparation could cost us a lot of resources and men.

I, Senator G413, suggest to solely focus on our realm and halting any wars against the other rulers of the islands. Our soldiers and resources are better spent defending our realm from Germanic and Celtic invaders, rather then fighting wars to gain land of little to no importance. Only when our great Roman realm is prosperous and powerful enough to rival the now-gone Roman Empire, we can start looking outwards.

You are already Britano-Roman, but you should further embrace the celtic roots of Britannia by converting to/forming a hybrid culture with one of the celtic culture in the British isles
