Welcome to the 3rd part of my ROMANO BRITISH campaign. Set in the year 395 AD, Roman Britannia is now in the process of imposing its Roman culture on the island. The Western Roman Empire and the Eastern Roman Empire have both fallen. Now it is up to us to save Roman culture. But Britain is now being mercilessly invaded by Babars and the remaining Romans have their hands full defending the island.

If you post a comment with a good suggestion, it is not unlikely that it will be implemented. However, you can also impose your will and force me to implement your suggestion by getting at least 15 likes on your comment. So you have to manage to convince the others of your idea.

Greetings once more fellow senators. I wish to make a purposal. I would like to recall my former purposal while adding onto it. My last purposal was that we try to max Military Competence for Strategic Law to move as quickly as possible to cut off enemy invaders and rebels. Clearly harder said then done. What we must do is we need to ensure the loyalty of all vassals, one possible way is making our vassals like us with gifts now and then, then making them convert which will also convert their kids, after that what we will do is find a Roman guardian and have their kids be converted. This way we can ensure that future generations will be loyal and hopefully make the current generation more loyal.

Gain the rebellious vassals by changing them with only loyal ones or try to sway them so they like you and won't rebel.

Greetings King Aurelius of the Britons and Romans of the Provience of Britannia. I offer this advice to you as I offered it to your Grandfather. The Kingdom is beset now by the United Tribes of Eiru, The Northern Tribes to the North staggle Gaul. We must establish a way to protect our coasts. The Saxon shore has proved....less the useful at stopping these assualts. I have two Propsals that could prove effiective. One is that we lack a way to strike at our foes homelands, A navy of strong warriors could go out and Raid there lands just as they done to us,The Differance is that it will be Roman Swords that will strike at there lands. This would take a large effort as we as a people have not fought profesionally as a navy since the days of Scipio. (This suggestion is to reform the Roman Culture to have Practice Piracy itll help the money issues and strike at the barbarians) The Other proposal is that our Legionaries need better reinforcements. Elite Units of Warriors must be found to reinforce our legions. The Germans have since the days of Ceasar proven effiective. We have made alliances with the Angels and Jutes in times past there Household Guard might prove a useful force to aid the legions Though this may make us look less Roman. (This Suggestion Boils down to Hybridizing Roman with one of the Germanic Cultures to give us Powerful Man at arms Units)

Now dear friend I disagree with you. You ask us to raid the lands of our mother empire and to kill fellow romans alongside that of the foul germans who destroyed the empire in the first place. Not only that you seek a union with them. We are the sons and daughters of Aeneas descendants of Troy we will not stand with those who have killed our own people in the name of their foul barbarian gods. Now you say we let them enter our service, possibly as Foederati but as the guards of the king and future emperors it is preposterous. We will reclaim the Empire with the blood and steel of True Romans not Barbarian iron and barbarian gods, but under the watchful eye of Sol Invictus and Mars. Nor will we steal the money of the people that are roman by blood and birth they should see us as liberators not as conquerors. Our money will be earned through the conquest of barbarians and the rightful taxation of our populace.

From Parthia to Carthage Our people have done a very similar type of Slaughter in the Name of our Old Empire if our Elders chose to stay there own way we would have never built ships copied from Carthaginian wreaks! As for the Barbarians in Our Ranks Yes they Worship Foreign Gods but they can see truth, Yes they are Hairy and wear pants. But the world grows Cold. And Yes I Understand you wish to see Roman Steel be Victorious but hasn't Roman Steel fallen to there Iron Blades before? Strategy wins wars. To quote a forebear. I agree with such to restore the Western Roman Empire and the Imperium Romanum as a whole however, we shall not loot the lands of our own people, they are Romans like us and to slaughter the innocent and take their gold would not only condemn us in their eyes but the eyes of Jupiter. The empire must be restored but sacking the land as we march to the seven hills would be a terrible crime. Do you think Augustus would have wanted his heirs to sack the land he worked so hard to conquer and build. We will reunify the empire but we will do it the right way as liberators not as conquerors.

I greet his grace, King Aurelius the Battle-Hardened. As I have overseen, our land is plagued with foolish nobles who so wish to diminish your rule. I would like to suggest a solution to this issue. Promote vassals that appreciate your reign to the title of Duke. This way rebellious peasants and rebellious counts will have to fight them first. This will allow you to focus on the foreign wars. Secondly, marry any other family members to these dukes to ensure their loyalty. In this way we can ensure that the threat of uprising nobles is put down. In order to deal with the countless barbarian hordes I suggest we fortify all of our coastal cities with more castles and the like, the barbarian men are likely to be tired after their long ventures at sea. If we can provide stronger fortifications to hold the barbarians off for our legions to arrive it will provide a safe and secure way for us to elimate the barbarian wars. The Saxon Shore has proven Less then Useful during the Reign of King Romulus, 2 Tribes of Barbarians from the East invaded. I suggest we learn the ways of our enemies as True Romans and Make a force able to Raid them,Capture there Nobles and Ransom them back for cash/or to negotiate conversion to Mars and Hermes as they seem to Worship them in there own barbaric way. Bringing Loyal Legionaries to the Title of Dux(Latin for Duke) Does seem promising but We are strapped for denarii as it is.

Oh great Aurelius, I know my words on this senate carry not much sway. However I believe my words be true and must be said. The men and women of our land struggle. We must unite our people in culture and faith. Once we are all one we may expand without worry or fear. If we can find the funds we should Fortify our borders with the enemy in the English channel and to our north. I fear we do not have the men to take a united Ireland and their allies so we must prepare while we can.

@@theemperoraurelius my lord I am honored anyway. my emperor voices from Scotland claim that this will only be the beginning of the barbarian waves so my lord we must prepare for the eventuality of a possible financial collapse. therefore my proposal is this. we must create legions that stationed in places that are most at risk of being attacked so as to put a stop to continuous attacks by the barbarians. however your majesty you have to be careful there are rumors of someone who wants you dead and to do so instigates the various vassals and lords to rebel against the imperial crown

i, Senator G413, come yet again for another proposal. Our roman legions cannot fight against the unending hordes of Celts and Germans by themselves. If we must escape this era of crisis and enter one of prosperity, we need foreign allies. However, the remnants of the West have progressed away from their Roman legacy, leaving us in the dark. There are other rival celtic and germanic tribes who wished to see their enemies wiped from history, who could be powerful allies, yet they could also back-stab us once our shared enemies are gone. I suggest we "convert" to Nicene Christianity, a religion widely followed by the former people and kingdoms of Western Rome, allowing us to ally with them. Our true faith, however, remains the Greco-Roman pantheon, which we should convert to again once the enemies of Rome are thoroughly destroyed and go back to denouncing christianity once again.
