So much more a reason to reach the lost, as once we were. Thanks Dave.

Brother David, Your analogies contrasted against verses gives me a deeper understanding of the scriptures; and gives me the zeal to continue mining the scriptures for even more understanding. I’m enjoying your verse-by-verse presentation of the Pauline letters.

Thank you David. Romans 1:24 ...through the lust of their own hearts,... The most common deadly sin confessed by men is lust and the most common deadly sin confessed by women is pride.

@Rick Sullivan Interesting. It would seem that those two sins are among the most universal of human failings.

Hello David, was wondering who Paul was writing to in Romans? Are they Jews? They can't be members of the body of Christ before he tells them the gospel. What kind of church is it.

@C. M. In Romans, Paul is clearly writing to believers (Rom 1:7-8) who are members of the body of Christ (Rom 12:5). Those believers are predominantly Gentiles (Rom 1:13). Note that while Paul had not yet visited Rome, there were others who knew the gospel of Christ who were in Rome (Rom 16:3-5). Hope this helps. Grace.

@@ColumbusBibleChurch thank you, when I told someone that Paul was the first of the body of Christ they said "Those churches that Paul wrote to in Romans-Philimon was already established churches so he didn't start them" People will go out of there way to discredit Paul. I'm still learning so I don't know how to always respond. Thank you

David Single-minded targeting of the 60s seems a bit pricey, I would consider what's on the plate today. One denomination after another in this 21st. century community has joined the progressive camp, both with regard to the general acceptance of homosexuality (notably blessing same-sex marriage) and with regard to internal church issues (notably the acceptability of openly gay clergy). To be sure, there have been significant resistances to this progressive trend.

Thank you David. Rm. 1:21: "Religiosity" is an inappropriate devotion to the rituals and traditions of a religion. Religiosity is something that should never be a characteristic of a follower of Jesus Christ, but, sadly, it sometimes is.
