I knew the ending and had already read it before bit everytime the happy prince said "Swallow, Swallow" it just tugged on my heart strings. No I'm not crying, I'm just sweating profusely🤧

A marvelous recording. It's interesting to compare this performance to that of Orson Welles in an abridged version he recorded with Bing Crosby for Decca Records in 1945. The score from Bernard Herrmann makes the story a little sweeter and a little sadder, all at once. Many thanks for this!
