It's not "romantic", but it melts my heart every time. I found out 5 years ago that I had a daughter (she was 14 years old when I found out). I was fresh out of the military, a complete mess, and had a 3 week relationship with her mother (and lets just say that back then... messed up attracted the same). I whole heartedly regret that I missed 14 years of my Sprite's life. I had since gotten my life "mostly" together. My Sprite moved in with me, and has become the most important thing in my life. I still have some issues from my service days (certain sounds, fireworks, etc.) that put me in a dark place (my current situation not withstanding). She's never pushed me to talk about it, she's just seen the change in my eyes and posture. The part that melts my heart is that she just grabbed onto me tightly and says she loves me. In my darkest moments (the times I completely shut down as a human), she grounds me to something I don't feel I deserve in this life. I'm thankful she didn't know me at my worst. We've talked about some of it over the years (mostly over the past 2 years). She's made me a better person (and continues to make me want to be even better), and every time she say "I love you Dad" has nearly killed me. We all have things we're willing to die for (and if you don't, you need to look long and hard in a mirror), she's given me something to live for. She's my daily reason to come home from Ukraine after we put Putin in his place. She's my daily reminder that no matter what happens, I still have someone back home when this is all over. She's the reason I'm able to even talk about shit like this in a public forum. My daughter is the one that melts an otherwise cold/angry/out right pissed off heart (even from half a damn world away). She know's why I'm not there for her currently, she know's why I chose to leave, she know's the mess her father is, yet she still tells me she loves me every time we talk. That's what love is, that's what melts a stone cold heart, that's what keeps me going, and that's work fucking protecting!

Story 9: one could say their love is rock solid xD For me I think it's one of two things: any showing of gentleness and/or vulnerability. Having her cuddle in my arms when she's super tired and just be so comfy she falls asleep there, or if we cuddle and she starts playing either in my hair or my beard. Also, making out is hot, but sometimes I just have such feels for an innocent kiss on the cheek.Oh, and definitely when she walks behind me out of nowhere and just hugs me randomly, or when she just squeezes me a bit harder out of nowhere or grab holds or... When they're accepting and careful. You see I have some scars now that make it extremely difficult for someone to hug me or get around. Im really really thankful when a woman is considerate and gentle. It's like I can leave my whole life in their hands and I can trust them to touch me in those places however sensitive they are.
