"Romantic Killer" just started streaming exclusively on Netflix from October 27th. In this special interview, Rie Takahashi, who plays the main character Anzu Hoshino, talks about the series and what makes Anzu great!
About the series:
"Romantic Killer" is a slapstick adolescent romantic comedy that follows the romance-averse Anzu, a "non-heroine type" high school girl who is thrown into a real-life dating simulation game.
Anzu Hoshino is a "non-heroine type" high school girl who pays no attention to fashion or romance and spends every day playing video games. After the wizard Riri suddenly appears and confiscates Anzu's three favorite things - video games, chocolate, and cats - she gets pursued by hot guys!

Her voice acting was so SPOT ON, the TONE, THE EMOTIONS, you can just feel IT. Anzu personality never felt forced but natural. She is on my top voice actors!

tbh, I wasn't expecting that much when I first saw the animation, but when I started this series I couldn't get up and ended up finishing it in one night. The animation easily became quite an amusing trait for the anime, the story was good and Rie-san's voice acting was exceptionally great, she was able to portray every feeling/expression well- she was basically made for the role. my favorite line was her saying "torihada, I AM A BIRD!!" lol ... and I like Rio too 😳😳

Season 2 is really needed for this series, it has different flavors of feelings and emotions. And the series is unique and worth watching, and what I love more about this anime is that it always has a cliffhanger at the end of every episode which is very effective that makes you curious and more excited, please watch "ROMANTIC KILLER"!!!

Halfway watching this anime, I realise how good her voice acting is. Dont get me wrong every japanese voice acting is top tier, but her voice beats every level of greatness. There's so much emotion and tone put into it and that itself made the anime way more entertaining. She's a legend!!!!!

This anime was pleasantly surprising, it had a lot of tropes but I do feel like it was done in a not too excessive way. I was really surprised to hear that the manga got discontinued but I hope that even if it is that this would give way to it become it's own original as well. Netflix please don't give up on this, need more anime rom-coms!

Binge watched this series in two days. Well done Netflix. This was a surprisingly great anime. A strong fun lead and nuanced supporting characters. Hit some powerful themes such as stalking and date attack. Sensitively handled. Lots a lighter tones mainly and comedy, but it handles the strong themes wonderfully.

I really love Rie Takahashi as a voice actor! She is so talented and has such a wide range of characters. Although I really only started really being her fan after I watched her in Tomo-Chan is a Girl! Since that became one of my all time favorite animes, I watched Romantic Killer because I saw good things about it and that Rie Takahashi was the voice actor here too. While the two characers are pretty similar in that they are both tomboys, both animes are super cute and lovable in their own ways!

I just finished watching this today and the anime is so awesome too funny and really enjoying😆 Rieri is always great voicing roles she gets, so hardworking getting lots of roles this season. Currently I'm at episode 8, and it is great. Anzu is funny protagonist, and Riri is my favorite character. He is so evil in funny way. Komatsu Mikako does a great job as making him as funny as possible. Takahashi Rie is great as Anzu as well.
