Kalyn's Coffee Talk

Kalyn's Coffee Talk

Күн бұрын

In today’s conversation, we are diving deep into the romantic notion of being the main character of your life story and writing your own life narrative, but not at the expense of losing our role within the broader tapestry of life and our impact on other life stories.
Also, note to self... do not place microphone between boobs ever again.

🥹 I hope this is received with the warmth intended - I feel like over the last month we’ve been watching you get your groove back. I keep seeing more and more light and warmth and excitement returning. This isn’t to say like “you sucked before Kalyn, glad things are better,” but let’s be honest, between Easton, you MIL and Koze it’s been a RIDE for you this year. When this vid started (from the mug to the overall makeup/hair/outfit aesthetic) I got a huge smile on my face. This is Classic Kalyn, in the absolute best way. Hope you are having a refreshing August … GETTING CLOSE TO BABY’S FIRST FALL! 🍁 🤩 ❤ Can’t believe it!

My mum and I were taking a late night walk around our block last night, with the crunch of brown maple leaves underfoot and the pale moon hanging in the sky like a pendant. I was talking to her about how my appreciation for autumn has changed over time: from focusing solely on trick-or-treating and dressing up as a kid to discovering the joys of nature walks, warm beverages, and decorating my space seasonally as an adult. "There's this KZbinr I've been following since 2016 named Kalyn Nicholson," I told her, "and she came out with this cozy Youtober series..." Thank you for being a huge inspiration. Autumn is now one of my favourite seasons. 🍁🌾🍂

I love your videos so much that I always want to watch them as soon as they come out, but they have so much insight and give me so many different opportunities to pause and reflect that it’s the type of video I wait to watch until i’m in a very specific mindset. I learned a lot about myself in the past, present and the type of person I want to become in this podcast episode and I am extremely grateful for that. thank you

I feel like the internet, you, or, most likely, both, have confused romanticizing your life and "main character energy". Romanticizing is, like you said at the beginning, is being in the moment, enjoying the scents and tastes etc, it's just a nicer name for mindfulness. Whereas "main character energy" is where you put yourself first, I think it was supposed to be to teach people it's ok to say no to people, to not feel like you have to do that overtime at work, etc. But, as always happens, people who were already good at putting themselves first have used it as a way of being more selfish, which is where the problems come from. Romanticizing your life is healthy, it will make people happier and more aware. Main character energy CAN be good, but because it's about you and what affects you only, it turns selfish

My take on romanticizing my life and “main character energy” is that it’s helpful as long as I remember a couple things. First, I am the main character of my story but my story is only one of billions happening and I am a supporting character in others’ stories. Second, I have to keep asking myself what type of character do I want to be.

I've been thinking exactly what you talk about in this podcast. People romanticizing a little too far with the risk of romanticizing even mental health issues. The healthy way you talk about is something that has always been natural for me since I was a kid, but listening to you verbalizing that makes so much more sense to me. Thank you as always

I was really looking forward to watch this video while eating my Saturday pancakes. But I just couldn't after seeing you advertise deodorant for down under. What the heck!? Why spreading the message that (especially) women do not smell "right" and they have to fix it !? It is completely normal that there is a smell which changes during the cycle. If it does not feel like normal, go to the doctor and don't use deodorant, girls!!!

It’s about your leg pits, belly button and anywhere else on the body that harbours bacteria that then creates an unpleasant scent.. It has nothing to do with the natural odour of the vagina 🙂 the creator is an OBGYN who understand the difference between bacteria causing scents and the vagina itself and actually wants to debunk the myth that the vagina is to blame for any “bad” smells below the belt. It’s not the vagina, it’s sweat and trapped bacteria and that’s what this brand of deodorant can be used for - much like (and can also be used for) armpit deodorant
