Thanks for sharing such wonderful footage, that was guts & determination from Bill Roycroft riding with a broken collarbone, it's also interesting to watch the dressage after just watching the 2023 grand prix in Mechelen that todays horses are definitely carrying their heads differently!

Nowadays he would not have been allowed to ride.

Their trainer being Franz Maringer of the Spanish Riding School who migrated to Australia after the war. A wonderful man and gentleman an amazing rider and horseman who loved his horses. I was prilividged to attend a few of his basic education schools..... Australian dressage riding owes much to this man

Horses relaxed and going happily forward .No stiff bodies and overbending . Dressage has gone downhill since then

Спасибо за видео. Как здорово, сколько энергии, как все по настоящему. Не то что сейчас сплошное ковыряние на пиаффе и пассаже. Здесь скорость , полет, жизнь, природа, сильные и смелые люди и кони.

The Speed and Endurance farharder but the dressage not so. Compare that course to Paris 2024. I thought that the French course was relatively easyBadminton and Burghley far more challenging . No real drops and easy to get around in the time

The horses looked so bad ass then! None of today’s amenities. Their eyes and the way they carried themselves, those horses knew they were the shht!
