1) Thank you 2) This is a timeless video. Please have in mind a short video with news about Americans being able to visit. Our April-May trip was cancelled. My current plan is to try to book a flight as soon as flights are open FOR TOURISM and leave by Thursday of that same week! Returning after two+ weeks.

Hello Evan, and sorry to hear about your trip being cancelled. I have a video about Coronavirus in Rome. You may also want to visit my page on the website, which I keep updated regularly: www.romewise.com/coronavirus-rome.html I will also make a new video once we have any news about Americans being able to visit. I hope it will be soon!!

@Romewise4 жыл бұрын
Please note those clips at the pantheon were filmed last year. Now, we do have some crowds in Rome - much more than in June - but it won't be quite as crowded as last year.

I been to Rome twice and never in august for the first time it was in 2014 october and it was cold and warm to and for the second time at the end of may beginning of june it was mild.

Overall, Rome has a pretty mild climate, but as I write this answer to you, it's January and very cold outside so there are definitely some seasonal changes to be aware of. I love August in Rome but it is definitely hot and humid!

Interesting about 15th August..we'll be there on that day...I love getting amongst the locals and enjoying Rome in all its glory, thank you for the tips! Also is there any good boat trips? Im taking my 16yr old Grandson so want to keep him busy and will be a new experience for me! Do you need to book, or can you go up to a boat and pay on boarding? Many thanks. X
@Romewise2 жыл бұрын
Thank you Diane! I am not sure what you mean about boat trips - do you mean along the Tiber? Or off the coast to some of the islands such as Ponza near Rome, or further from Rome, to Capri, Ischia etc? Start here: www.getyourguide.com/rome-l33/cruises-boat-tours-tc48/?partner_id=2BCZLYU&placement=%22other%22&cmp=KZbin-august

@@Romewise sorry I meant along the Tiber.....
@Romewise2 жыл бұрын
@@dianeleach9097 Not a problem! There are a few boat things you can book on the Tiber. First of all there is the summerfest, which is along the banks. It's not on a boat. But using the link I sent you above, you can also find some boat things to do. You might also consider going to Villa Borghese and renting a rowboat in the lake there. It's wonderful!

When does holiday season normally end in Rome? I am going there on the 25th
@Romewise4 жыл бұрын
Before Covid, I would have answered you that we almost do not have a low season in Rome any more. Things are a little different now. However, the busiest seasons in Rome without a doubt are May, September, October. If you are coming on August 25, it's the end of mid/low season and just before the (usual) rush of high season tourists coming in September. Despite the lack of visitors to Italy from many countries around the word right now, I still anticipate that September will be busier than August. That's when the weather is loveliest and there is still a lot going on. Have a great trip!

Hi I land to Rome on the 15th August. How long are things closed for please
@Romewise2 жыл бұрын
Well this can depend. When I first moved here over 20 years ago, pretty much everything closed for the entire month of August! But now, more and more businesses are open more of the month. Right on the 15th, a holiday, you will find most things closed (although monuments and museums, except for the Vatican Museums) are open. You will find plenty open including shops and restaurants, even from the 16th. Have a wonderful time!

I love your videos. Had helpful hints for my past trip. You may wish to edit: it's the Assumption of the Virgin Mary. (The belief is she was assumed into Heaven by God's power, as she was a human without Divine power.) Thanks!

Do you think the Rome city pass is worth it for this upcoming august? I know in your video you say its mid season but worries since so many people are traveling this year
@Romewise2 жыл бұрын
I think the Rome City Pass is worth it for the convenience alone. It's not really a money saver but it is convenient! You can read more here: www.romewise.com/rome-city-pass.html

Hi, does the population there still need to wear a mask? I don’t see anyone wearing one?
@Romewise4 жыл бұрын
Yes, we must all wear masks when going inside anywhere, except for eating and drinking. When you visit any monument you must wear a mask at all times. Usually to visit a shop, museum or monument, you will also have your temperature taken. Many of the clips for this video were taken last year so you are seeing people without masks for that reason.
@addisonhollomon93724 жыл бұрын
Are people wearing masks right now in Rome?
@Romewise4 жыл бұрын
Yes. Please check my page about this. I update it regularly: www.romewise.com/coronavirus-rome.html Masks are obligatory inside any shop, museum, monument, office, or other indoor location with other people, except when eating or drinking. They are not required outside although many people do wear them, especially when near others. At this time, masks are required also outside in Florence.
