I’m an Italian train conductor. I think there was some issues with the suspension system in some of the coaches. This train, I confirm, isn’t comfortable at all, but it isn’t also this much uncomfortable. Surely it isn’t the best train in Italy. But it is so damn reliable. Never a problem.

Indeed, the Polish version is considered a very robust and reliable train. Been on it a good few times, never experienced the rattling / shaking problem you had.

Yup, but it hasn't got the main function of this train. I do not know, how to call it in english, but I' ll write it in polish: Polish ETR600 hasn' t got wychylne pudło.

Oh, thanks. Yup. It hasn' t got tilt ability. No train called paradoxally called "Pendolino" in Poland has tilt ability.

Wow, what a shame to see your experience of the ETR.600 is so poor! I have numerous experiences of these sets, and really enjoyed them (at various different companies), never noticed any of those really horrible problems you had. My longest ride was over six hours, and if I am honest, it was bliss. They've since become some of my favourite trains because of this. Try the Polish ones when you're back over, they're real class, and the seat cushions are very well padded.

Go try the SBB ones for a second opinion. On the Switzerland-Italy lines, we have ETR610 trains in two versions. - A very similar Trenitalia one to the one shown in the video with the same interior furnishing. - The SBB version which has so much added comfort in 1st class. Simply because they use fabric seats which are more cushy, and they have carpet in the 1st class. Hard floor in the Italian version contribute to less noise damping and the leather seat is quite hard, I agree. And I feel the SBB has a better maintenance standard: no shaking seats like in the video, very smooth ride, electrical outlets that work for sure. The Italian outlets do not hold firmly onto the prongs, and some have dirt in the holes that just prevent the socket from being useful :p I found out that the reclining mechanism is quite fragile. I regularly find some seats that remain in the fully reclined mode as the spring holding the lever is broken. Actually, by SBB standards, I love this stock. The experience you had is not representative of the potential.

Switzerails bah, usually our etr600-610 aren’t that bad... this train needs maintenance. Anyway trenitalia focus more on Etr500 and Etr400, those are the best italian HST, and for sure they are among the best in the world

J'habitais Desvres, à peu près Boulogne, quand j'étais jeune (il y a une cinquantaine d'années) et je continue à faire des visites fréquentes à Outreau pour faire des achats (le prochain sera janvier 30!) et donc je connais bien la ville et ses environs. Votre commentaire est absolument la première fois que j'ai jamais entendu un comparaison entre Boulogne et Rome !!

J'adore Termini qui est une gare très vivante. L'arrivée à Venise est toujours aussi spectaculaire, c'est super beau. Par contre, la pendulation, c'est pas ma tasse de thé. Merci pour cette belle vidéo.

During my vacation a few years back, I preferred Fercciarossa to Frecciagento when I traveled. There was one route I had to use Frecciagento because there was no Frecciarossa option. The cheap seats in 2nd hurt my back. The trip was only 2 hours though, so no big deal.

The shaking is most likely due to the train tracks... runs smoothly on newly built routes🤣

I can literally smell the soap through the video . Its got such a distinctive smell . Both the soap and the train (I guess the way they clean it)

About the delay in Florence: Florence seems to sort of a bottleneck on this line where delays often happen due to various techical problems (signaling malfunction etc.). I remember once travelling on the same route on Frecciarossa 1000 and that train was supposed to call only in Padova, Mestre and Venezia SL, but we got stuck for quite some time in the suburb of Florence (the train didn't even enter the station and reverse, but took the bypass). And several people told me similar stories.

They are building a high speed bypass for Florence together with a new underground train station dedicated to high speed. The intention is exactly to remove all these delays by completely separating local from HS trains

one more thing about ETR610 is that it's 15kv capable making a Rome-Milan-Zurich trip possible. The reason for is that Switzerland uses 15kv ac like Germany and Austria

It is not a ETR610 but a ETR600 as it can be read at 2:06 on the side of the train ;)

ETR610 is capable of using the world's longest tunnel Gotthard Base Tunnel Zurich-Lugano-Chiasso-Milan line.

Poor maintenance. Most likely problems with wheels or bogies. It's similar to trains called "fast regional". In that case lot of noise too. It's a shame though: Etr 610 is still a nice train. I suppose they focus on the etr 400 and 500 for the maintenance.

Nice trip report and the seats look very good the interior and exterior and the free snack and drink but the constant rattling must have been a bit of a turnoff

Nice video. You haven’t tried Italo, I was on it a week ago and it shakes so much that all you want is to get out of there. Also, the seats aren’t that good in any of the Italian trains and they are also late AF. On 4 of my rides (1 with italo, 3 with frecciarossa), 3 were at least 50 minutes late. I haven’t tried Spain but I keep realizing after my experiences in Italy and France that the good old DB trains (except ICE 4) are really the best and not worth the criticism they get.

Haowei Chen the new seats in ICE 4 and refurbished ICE 3 are highly uncomfortable. My back hurts when I’m on ICE 4

Italo EVO is very similar to ETR610 so maybe this would explain the shaking. Also he tried Italo on the the same trip, but he was on AGV not the EVO model. But I think the video is not yet up.

I once travelled from Rome Airport to Roma Termini! I wonder if it was the same train shown here. I remember blue coloured seats, and comfortable ride. I also did Italo from Bologna to Firenze. Was also nice

IDK why this train made lots of noise. (You are right it's impossible to have a good journey with those noises). Usually when I travel with the Frecciargento I have an experience far worse than the Frecciarossa, but i remember that in 2nd class seats where ok and the train was silent (not as silent as the ETR500 but silent). I think this train needs some maintenance, and unluckily is not new that Frecciargentos lacks of maintenance.

Good video. I’ve travelled on one of those pendolinos from Roma Termini to Caserta. I remember the vibration on them. I was in second class. Have you travelled RENFE AVE in first class. It’s a great experience. Wide leather seats which are comfy with good seat pitch, a four course complimentary meal. with wine, coffee, a choice of soft drinks, beer or a spirit. I had a whisky. The food was pretty good. I had veal cheek in gravy with Parmesan and herb potatoes as a main. This was on the Barcelona to Madrid route. A great journey on the AVE velaro sets, similar to German ICE train.

For instance, Trenitalia Executive class is the best first class service (overall) in Europe. Just check some pics of the seats.

I actually felt the same way. Couldn't believe that was an Alstom product. But since ZefiroV300 suffered a similar issue, maybe that's a track quality issue..? Because swiss ETR 610s traveling at slower speed on winding swiss railways were sooo much more comfortable.

If I have to be honest, I kinda dislike Alstom in their products. Alstom bought Fiat Ferroviaria (Pendolino producer) society back in 2000 if I'm not wrong, and the noisy issue/shaking happens also on their AGV trains which are operated by the Italian Private High Speed society NTV. Well, I thought it was maybe the railway but according to this video, I'm completely sure that Alstom products are made of a poor quality.

Good video! Are these trains built by AnsaldoBreda? Because they are well-known with tilting trains. Besides boarding gates are very annoying when you would like to spot trains en quai...

I mean if anything it might have the polar opposite effect. If there aren't any ticket barriers then the entire system works on trust and that can easily work psychologically against crime.

on the ČD Supercity Pendolino trains you get a bottle of water for free even in 2nd class :D

The motors on the New Pendolino are very similar to the Class 390 Pendolino. Both trains have similar speed capability, the New Pendolino can do 150-155mph and the Class 390 can do 140mph.

Cool video. I would say that the trains themselves were good but the interior was crappily built at least based on my own experience with Pendolinos. We have older units in Prague (200 km/h max speed) for several years and they are okay. Not Bmz coach-level comfortable (where it's hard to notice any movement at all) but tables are stable and you hear just the traction and tilting motors. Also the whole trainset has 2-1 seating even for the 2nd class.

Great video. I have never traveled on a Frecciargento so I'm surprised that train was shacking like that. Nevertheless, the train looks cool and I prefer it over the Frecciarossa 1000.

My experiences with Italy's high-speed trains have been completely different from yours. I've taken several dozen trips on the freccias in the past seven years and the ride has always been quiet and rock solid. I've taken videos when traveling at over 200 mph and sent them to friends because it seems as if you are sitting in a comfortable chair in your living room. The only way you know you are moving is by looking out the window. Looks and sounds like you got a bum railroad car with some suspension issues. You say the train is gorgeous inside and out but feels cheap. I don't understand how that can be. To me, first-class and second-class cars have always felt very high-quality in every respect. Btw, it's "disappointment," not "dissapointment." If you want to do critical vlogs as a gig, your grammar and spelling must be above reproach; otherwise, you lose credibility right away. When I saw that you are basically unschooled, I thought you are just a dude trying to get clicks by posing as a critic. Seats too narrow. Really??

I’m just shocked and disappointed. Poland also has Pendolino but ED250. I had travelled by them many times in 1st and 2nd class. Everything and every time was just really good. Quality, comfort and service were great. Pendolino: kind of the same but not in every country😂

Here in Finland we also have some Pendolinos.. I try to avoid those as much as I can. Don't like those at all.. First when those came they had problems all the time; especially in Winter. Here top speed is limited to 220km/h, but usually trains go 160km/h or less...

We have 20 ETR610 in Poland, without a tilt mechanism as it is not needed where they are supposed to work. The maximum speed reached at tests was 293 km/h, while powered from 3 kV(!). Now they can run up to 200 km/h but the speed will be raised to 250 km/h in 2023: here you can see tests at 275 km/h: kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y5raoHhud56BapY

Because is a train made in Savigliano, today is Alstom butta in the past was Fiat Ferroviaria. Train made in Fiat/Alstom always had problems (except dmu ALn 668/3)

Those trains always made a bit of vibrations, especially if compared to the far better ETR500 frecciarossa. But this train seem to be lacking of maintenance... it's not new that Frecciargentos lack of maintenance

Wow! 200 miles per hour! 300 KM per hour. Ho-hum. A jet flies at 550 miles per hour, or 900 KM per hour. I'll fly any day...

Steve Nikitas yes, but to get a plane you need to go to the airport, wait at the control of your bags, and then the take off takes time. The train brings you in the city centre/downtown and you just need to be on the platform 5-10 minutes before the departure... for journey under 6 hours the train is better

@@Lorre982 Trains produce MORE emissions because they use more energy. Planes are designed to be lightweight. They are much lighter per passenger than trains. In the case of one Amtrak train in the US, it weighed 20 times as much per passenger as an airplane.

Actually the line is the problem e And not the train 'cause in Italy goods and passenger trains run on the same line that' s maybe also why you had a delay

Paying more for first class didn't get you a whole lot more. I would have preferred to get to my destination an hour later rather than vibrate like that at high speed.

Trains from alstom (France) like Italo and etr 600 sound cheap but are good. Etr 500 from Ansaldo Breda is more confortabile but has a worse acceleration

I mean to be honest, I'd rather have an on time slightly uncomfortable train, than a train that was comfortable but consistently unreliable. I mean most Danish travelers, including me have had enough of the IC4 trains that were ordered from Ansaldo Breda.

@@drdewott9154 the ETR500 and ETR400 (the first made by TREVI, the second made by Ansaldo Breda) are usually on time... we can't say the same thing about ETR600
