Excellent video and great explanations, what i will say is the base game battle mode is pretty bare bones and boring but the game combined with the battleplay expansion makes the battles very dynamic and interesting, definitely worth getting the expansion!

Thank you so much, I'm really glad you liked the video. I feel that the basic combat was designed to be a fast going thing in order not to create too much down time. I didn't try the battle expansion, but I don't know if I would have wanted to make the battles longer.

It will be interesting to see how this game plays out. Things have come full-circle - given how the strategy part of the original Shogun Total War was heavily based on the board game Shogun/Samurai Swords.

Yeah I agree.. I think the expansions that will come in the 2nd wave will add a lot to the game. On the other hand, I kind of regret buying the Battlefield expansion

I have a feeling that when this game will reach backers, you'll have quite the selection on the 2nd hand market 😉 Not to say that this game is good or not, but I think people will not want it anymore (3 years almost since funding) or they will just struggle with the rules

I am so sad now. I literally spent the last two years developing a game very similar to this one and now I don't know what to do about it. It differs in many mechanics but still the theme is very much the same and in the end players would feel like I stole my ideas from this game.

47:22 - did you just build 2 buildings (barracks/Market) in the same area? I thought you said this was not allowed?

In a single round you can't build more than 2 buildings in the same area. So I can't build in a single area walls, market and barracks. Also, you can't build 2 buildings of the same type in an area, so 2 barracks for example are not allowed.

If I'm not mistaken they simply can't board. I'm saying this because I didn't see an option to split an army.

I played a bit, yeah.. Hard to tell yet. There are a lot of small rules. But there is a good game there. Just need to play a bit more before deciding.

What is the definition for an home region

I can't remember exactly, but in general, it's a region you start the game with (it has the color of the faction around the name). There are also some rules regarding combat when you invade or being invaded to a home region.

Yes it was! They had a stand with less than 10 copies.. I thought it will be cool to get one (although, I can imagine the frustration of original backers who still await their pledge)

How do you tell the army minis apart? Meaning how do you which one belongs to which army.

At their base, they have numbers (a bit kind of Successors 4th edition, if you know what I mean..) It's very not comfortable, unless you're going to shade the minis. I'll do that at some point.

I'm waiting for the game to get sent to me, but man...the map looks incredibly boring. 95% of the areas have the same 1 in tax income value. Great playthrough though!

Thanks 😊 More important than the tax value, is actually how many rough terrain icons you go there. But I do agree that the general visual design is quite lacking.
