I am so glad you told us that you actually care more about superficial things. I don’t have cancer (I am very thankful for that) but in fact I am bedridden for eight years now. And in stead of less interest in money and stuff (as lots of people think) I think most people with significant health problems do care even more about money and stuff. Because money can give you the optimal freedom within the situation. For example when I was healthier I wouldn’t feel the need for an IPad so hard. I would have the health to dance or to walk. Free things. And because my vulnerability wouldn’t keep me way from the people I love, I would simply take my bike to meet up friends. To laugh, love, live together with the people you love. All for free or a little amount of money. But when I got bedridden, the Ipad became my entire gateway to the world, it gave me one of the few ways to quell my boredom and meet my friends. Things I got for free in the past now ask for money or stuff. And the same with clothes, when I was healthy I liked clothes just to look fine. Second hand was perfect. But now as you say it in the video, cloths can help me to feel better psychologically (when you do feel bad it helps when you know your clothes look good on you), and I cannot go to the secondhand store to try or feel the clothes they have and I even cannot ask others to bring me some clothes while my clothes now do need a more perfect fabric (my skin does need more softness) and at the same timen they must be extra washable (because of wearing pampers). So money to buy things is extra important to me. (and by now I’m not even talking about money for better treatments or aids/medication yet). People do think you would feel it the other way around and sometimes I feel quilts for being so materialistic and I think you helped lots of people by just telling that you actually care more about some superficial things. It is not about being materialistic materialistic, it is about being materialistic just to buy a little bit back from the free things you loose when you getting ill....

Hi Romee. First let me say you are beautiful. 10 years ago I went through cancer myself. Be positive. You will get through this. Learn everything you can about the type of cancer you have to try and help yourself as you go through this. Don't get down on yourself. Go be with a friend when your feeling down. First: I honestly think that you are an example of a really brave person. I guess it has not been easy to open yourself to the world with your sincere videos about your journey through the diagnosis and recovery of that disgusting c-word, but you manage to do it so well. I wanna be like you. Second, you are one of the few people I know who is able to cry and laugh at the same time. Amazing! Third: I don't like to say that everything is gonna be fine, but I truly believe you are gonna get better soon. I have a lot of health problems myself, including tumors that continuously come back, but when caught early enough are pre-stage. I’ve always been very up front with guys when dating. It always was a filter for those that would completely drop me, as a sign that they weren’t very compassionate. I’m now with my current partner of three years, and it has been such a wonderful thing to have that person that loved you no matter how sick you are and will take care of you. It really helps a lot to have that support system, especially through the tough times. But I would definitely put your health and happiness first. I wouldn’t be closed minded to dating though! Hope your treatment is successful and you have a speedy recovery. All the love and holiday cheer ❤️

I am with you, being upfront is best and if the person is willing to go through this with you it will happen. I dated someone with a complicated cancer and mental health history. He was in relatively good health when I met him and he told me early on about that and I didn't mind. We eventually broke up due to incompatibility after almost a year but we stayed friendly for a while. Shortly after, his cancer came back. He refused to get chemo or radiation therapy that his oncologist recommended. He only did some immunotherapy that didn't put him into remission and at that period he met someone else. He hid his cancer status for quite some time and honestly I thought it was manipulative and a bit messed up, especially since he didn't really want to fight for his life. Overall I'd say be open and if the person is right for you at this moment it will work out. :) Of course one might just want something casual so in that case you do you. :)

I really really love your videos and sometimes I'm scared of watching them and getting really sad but now that I could, I binged them all. You give me major Claire Wineland vibes even though she had a completely different disease, but your outlooks on your sicknesses have a lot in common. Hey Romee I know you said you don’t feel pretty and the scar and picline bother you but honestly your such a beautiful women and those scars you’ll look back on some day as your battle scars and be proud of them someday that’s what I went through and hated my body and scars etc and now I carry them with pride that I’m strong and blessed and they remind me of the strength I have and how strong my faith is. It will take you a while but you’ll get there. Your constantly in my prayers and in my thoughts often I wish I lived closer somehow just so I could just give you a hug. I know this is totally none of my business but I’m a mama bear with my daughter and extremely close with her I’m just wondering where your parents are? Are you not close with them? You haven’t mentioned them much and I know if you were my daughter I would be there every step of the way with you. And you wouldn’t be alone at night or at all and I’m just trying to understand why at least your moms not there?? Again I know it’s not my business and sorry if I overstepped here but it’s just me thinking as a mom and my heart hurting for you and wanting to be there for you. I had bone cancer that had spread to my lungs, it was 25 yrs ago, I focused on something that I really enjoyed, i was actually playing video games and constantly setting of the alarm on my chemo drips Ooops!I always told myself I'm going to beat this, staying positive is very important, I lost my hair after my 1st chemo so everyone knew I was ill, it was not a good look but hey, without the chemo I wouldn't be here! I ended up having 4 children, 2 before cancer and 2 after💕 Best wishes to you 💕
