I am 52 years old , iv had serious illness and got better , now iv got mental health issues , watching this Lady makes me have hope and today i am going to my sons grave , iv not left the house for months , watching this Lady has done more for me than medication ever has , strong and brave , has cancer , yet full of life , something tells me this Lady will live to grow old , and so she should , the world needs more people who are beautiful inside and out x Scars are the illustrations of our life stories , but there is an oil called bio oil for scars

Keep the scar as moisturised as possible, when I'm trying to fade a scar I mix Bio Oil and some type of skin cream, because I don't like the feeling of just oil and I think it lasts longer. Good luck and stay strong!

@@SibutramineT Allthough I never use special brand products and for sure no expensive product I use Nutrix by Lancome for my scars (and then the white tube, not the luxury cream, the base). For me that was a fluke. Someone gave me a tube because she didn’t like it and than I noticed my scars went kind of away. So when I had surgery I simply tried it again and my scar is almost not noticeable, while I have a connective tissue disorder so I make scars easily. I thought about what you wrote about waiting till after chemo, but I can’t understand why shouldn’t you use a cream or a oil from the perfumery? You are also allowed to take some cream af your face I think? Can you please explain it?

I'm 66 and came across your video randomly. You are 1 amazing young woman. I am not very easily impressed, but you made such an impression on me from the very first time I saw you. I don't know if it will help but I had a pacemaker put in 5 years ago. Of all things I had issues getting 6 staples removed from an incision a little less then 2 inches long. Ended up taking 3 people. Made a really jagged, nasty looking scar. My home health nurse told me to put any type of cream on it and to gentle massage it several times a day. After a year it it was completely flat and only slightly discolored in a spot or two. Most people don't even notice it now. I hope that might help. Take care, from Debi in Michigan, USA.

On days you aren't up to showering, baby wipes are an excellent alternative. Also dry shampoo can be a life saver.

I told you before my daughter had the same kind of cancer 19 years ago. She was 24 at the time, one year into her marriage. She is a nurse so she had a little more insight, but still didn’t get it checked out right away. She had started losing weight, had nausea a few times and then when she was short of breath, she had some tests done. I went to a lot of appointments with her. When the doctor showed her husband and I the x-ray of her chest, I couldn’t believe the size of the tumor. Long story short, after six months of weekly chemo, she was cancer free and still is. Sweet girl, I know that I'm late to the party here, but as a fellow "Spoonie" (someone with a chronic illness) it took me many many years before I was able to see some pride in my surgical scars - we refer to them as my "battle stripes". I know that it can be hard and awkward when people stare, and it's difficult to hold your head up and try to see above their mean words and looks, but your scars and your hair loss are part of your armour. My health conditions are different to yours, but when dressed, people also don't realise that I'm sick, which is both a blessing and a curse. I have a feeding tube, ostomy bag and PICC line, and amongst a few others, a large scar from an incision from where my bra would sit to just below my bikini line. Keep reminding yourself that these are the things that are signs of the battles that you have won! You are so strong, Romee.

As a cosplayer and someone that has been playing with wigs for ages now, you can find really really nice ones for less than a 100€-200€ and I mean, lace front wigs with a really good quality. Maybe they are not meant to be worn daily, since sometimes they can get a little bit tangly, but oh boy, being able to change the style and color from time to time is something that I really enjoy. Continuing to keep you in my thoughts and prayers my friend. I completely understand what it is like to have scars on the chest area. I have two large ones and a third one will be happening in February. Also, I have a lot of experience with picc lines and ports. I am so glad that I decided on a port years and years ago. I was trained to do my treatments and accessing and deaccessing at home. My port is in my hip because there's no room on my chest and my first port in my left arm clotted and was coming out of my arm. Keep fighting my friend. Sending positive thoughts your way Romee! For your scar, I’m a nursing student in the US and I had several patients using a cream called Mederma and it seemed to really help. Hopefully there’s something like that available near you. Just know you are beautiful inside and out, regardless of a scar on your chest 🥰

When I was getting treatment, it felt like life would never improve. I am in remission since March, and I do have neuropathy but I have been able to do a lot. I am coming to Europe in November. I cannot wait! Joined your site. Thinking of and praying for you.

Years ago when I was younger I had a horrendous year long cough and for over a year my doctor tried minor treatments. A chest x-ray was normal. I finally had to go to an emergency room. I was admitted and thankfully within 3 days a pulmonolgist figured out the cause was for the cough was from a common blood pressure medication I had started a year prior. I was upset that it had not been solved earlier and that my prinary care physician back then did not pursue and refer me to a pulmonologist earlier. Needless to say I no longer continued seeing that primary care physician. We know our bodies and minds best don't let any doctor be dismissive. It is best vfc to bring a family member or close friend to help advocate for ourselves, as patients. I was initially concerned that it seemed you were going through this on your own, then realized your cancer was diagnosed during the start of covid. Sending virtual {{hugs}} and prayers.

I used silicone sheets like Scar Ban on a very raised and red scar and it faded nicely after a few month. I think it was covered by insurance since my surgeon gave me a package, but you can order it online as well. I live in NL as well, so it shouldn't be a problem for you. Though in the end our battle scars will hopefully be all that remains of the hard times. Stay strong and positive and keep your humor. A tattoo could make something you don't like into something of beauty. Just take time to think about what you would want. I got my first tattoo when my mom passed, it's small and actually her signature. It truly means something to me. Take care, be safe!

You can actually get a scar cover up tattoo, basically they use the same pigments that are in your skin tone to fill in the scar after it’s healed.

For your scar- ACCEPT IT! You are BEAUTIFUL with it. It shows a story, a hardship, and strength. Bio-oil has helped me reduce the redness with my scars, but I keep scars because it reminds me what I’ve been through.

About your scar…I had open chest surgery when I was 5 (I’m now 47) so I have a scar right where you do that goes all the way from one side of my chest to the other. I used vitamin E oil and massaged it every day for 2 years and it softened it up quite a bit. As for the pink color. That will fade with time as long as you KEEP IT OUT OF THE SUN. The sun will darken it. (Like a lot) It will always be there but it most definitely can be faded out to not as noticeable. Hugs!!

Bio Oil for your scar. It works great. But your scar is part of you. It's beautiful like you. Keep fighting. I know how it messes with your mind when you are down.You are fantastic for telling your story and your honesty helps take aware the scary for those who know nothing about cancer or are just starting their battle because that's what it is. Dear Romee, Tissue oil will really help for the scar... rub it in well. Also try colloidial silver ointment, great for post-op wounds. Then Arnica pills (homeopathic) help with speeding up healing of scar tissue. Lots of love from South Africa 💫🧡

one of my weird side effects is when my fingers or toes are cold it feels like I am Elsa with ice coming out of them or how it feels like when your hand falls asleep times 100. when I drink cold drinks it feels like I am swallowing ice.

I craved Jalapeños and hot food as well! I blamed it on 'feeling something' like fire, not hurting myself in a real way but still hurting somehow. I acted normal and happy and wasn't changing in front of people either. But now I get tired of everyone expecting me to stay 'this positive' like I was in the beginning. Like: "oh okay your operation went more exzessive but well und your hormones are getting better, nice you better be normal than". But no, I can't it takes time and there are still some Therapy-hospitalizations right around the corner. You helped me a lot, somehow you are like a real strong role model, truly amazing and speaking out the truth. You go girl! Beautiful from inside out.
