I just clicked on the video to learn how to dress nicer. Where I'm from (Phoenix, AZ), people just wear tank tops, breathable shorts and thick sandals. Italians definitely dress more fashionably but when its around or over 90F everyday of the year, comfort is all anyone cares about. Thanks for helping me out:)

Ciao Elisa! Thanks for the tips. I moved to Rome two months ago and I already dress differently! Generally I don’t like to expose too much skin here, even if it’s really hot. That way you don’t get hold up by street vendors that much because you blend in with the locals. Maybe you could do a video about dating in Italy! Like what are the Italian customs on a date, where do people go, etc. Just asking for a friend :)
@RomeInside6 жыл бұрын
I'm usually never too concerned about showing too much skin, but that might just be me :D Vendors can be annoying anyway haha I like the idea of the dating video! :)

I've been to Italy in August, omg we did so much walking to see the sights. It's just like Las Vegas weather, like being in the desert. We were dripping sweat, begging for A/C. Not easy to find when you are out and about. How was your trip, did you have fun?
@katiekrenn65675 жыл бұрын
Thank you! You’re amazing! I just found you this evening! You’re so informative and easy to understand. I’m from the States. You’re coverup/light jacket, looks like a knit type of button front sweater, that we call a cardigan. A cardigan sweater (because we call nearly all knit materials that can be worn over other clothing, sweaters) refers to that button front style. You could specify a light cardigan as they can vary in the weight or thickness of the material. I look forward to being in Rome with friends, for the first time this summer!

Been in Rome for two weeks. Back to NYC tomorrow. In general Italians dress better than Americans and I see few fat Romans walking about the city. Probably due to smaller portion sizes and Romans walking more than most Americans. I love the twisty hilly cobbled streets. Yes I walked around with a water bottle and filled it at public fountains. The water in Rome is great to drink. BTW,. I can't wear dresses here...my legs are too hairy.😋

Ciao Elisa! I am going to Italy in autumn (October) and was wondering on how to pack for the weather? I will be in the north and middle of Italy (Rome) and am unsure on how to pack according to the varying weather across regions. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks! :)
@RomeInside6 жыл бұрын
Hi Lily! It depends on a couple of things: when in October are you travelling and where in the North are you going. I can tell you for sure that in Rome October is a VERY mixed month: you can have sunny days 30 degrees at the beginning of the month and then it slowly cools down towards the end of the month, with more chances of rain. So the best suggestion I can give you is to layer! T-shirt, light or medium hoodie and a raincoat because you can never know. I would pack both jeans and a lighter option like a skirt, especially if you're visiting in the first half of the month. Anyway keep watching my videos so you can see even from the vlogs what I'll be wearing during that period!

So what about men, regarding pants? I find it very hard to find anything lightweight where I live. I will be in Italy in midsummer and the thought of wearing heavy jeans/chinos is pretty bad. No doubt I will break out the shorts at some point, but are nice looking, casual lightweight pants available for men in Italy? or do they all just have to be staunch and Macho???
@RomeInside6 жыл бұрын
I understand that the heat is unbearable during summer so definitely go on wearing shorts :) IF (and only if) you'd like to appear less tourist-looking maybe pick a pair that's unicolour and doesn't have those big extra pockets on the sides (besides the regular pockets). You can find some lighter material pants here (usually linen), but I will admit it's probably easier to find them for women
@simongregory31146 жыл бұрын
Thanks! And no I wouldn't wear the shorts version of cargo pants, even here in Nouva Zelanda, where dressing badly is a national pastime.

Yeah it actually has bottons on the front but I never use them so it might be considered a cardigan I guess :) Alex you're right, english is not my first language and sometimes it's hard to find an equivalent for a word.
