few strikers as good as him right now. Unfortunate games and unfortunate transfers won't change that. Also he might have missed those crucial chances, but he was also always there to miss said chances. Being in the right place at the right time is something most strikers fail to do.

There is key context missing from this video. Lukaku was injured at the end of October 2022. He should never have been at the Qatar World Cup. The plan was for him to be used in the knock-out stages, but Belgium were so bad that they were forced to look to their record goalscorer to rescue their campaign. Lukaku was outstanding at both the 2018 World Cup, and Euro 2020. Belgium were the best team in the world at that time, and they should have won the WC in Russia. They froze in the last four. Lukaku was poor, but so were KDB and Hazard in that match against France. In Euro 2020, they were buried in that last eight match against Italy before Lukaku scored. He did miss a good chance later in the game when Spinazzola inadvertently deflected a Lukaku shot off of the line. In his first spell at Inter, Lukaku was MVP in the 2020-21 season. He scored in both Milan derbies, and against Roma, Napoli, Juventus and Lazio. In the week leading up to the Champions League final in 2023, Inzaghi informed Lukaku that he would be starting against City. Lukaku had 10 G/A in the final 12 games of that season. He should have started the match. I am not excusing the miss (although strikers are often told that anything on target from that range is often enough) but Ederson got extremely lucky. The ball almost spun in off of his knee. We also have to consider Lukaku's mindset after being told that he would be starting that match. That was the reason why he didn't return to Inter. He turned down the offer of a medal after the 2012 Champions League final. He is closing in on 400 career goals. That makes him an elite striker in my opinion.

lukaku is an amazing striker. to bad he'll be classified as bad or a flop because of some bad matches and decisions he made in his career

But at that time, it was very in between. He's the star of the Belgium national team. You had the Lukaku-lovers and haters and what linked to his ability is suddenly became a pivot. Even though he was good, it was teammates who understand him the most.

Lukaku is a very good player and even a leader....when he plays for Conte....so he should just stick with Conte and whichever team he manages.

It’s definitely not because he’s black. He’s a “big fish in a small pond” striker. He has a bad first touch and does not play well against big teams and in super competitive leagues like the Prem
