Having your momma coming to visit is such a blessing; you will have someone you love and trust who loves Cade with her whole being take care of him for you while you are able to concentrate on your projects. It’s also so important for new parents to be able to reconnect as a couple and not just as parents, so having your mom with baby will allow you both to relax in each others company without having to worry.

Tips from a grandmother of three in hot hot Arizona where it gets 100-120 degrees in summer. Place a thick beach towel in your car to fully cover baby’s car seat completely to keep any metal or plastic parts from burning baby’s delicate skin. The covers that you buy or come with car seats are thin, a thick plush towel works much better. In addition if your taking and using a stroller cover it with towel or blanket so baby doesn’t accidentally burn his fingers when you put him or his snap in car seat in it. If you don’t already have a baby screen for the window by baby’s car seat get one, you’d be surprised how often when driving and turning the sun can be in baby’s face even if you have tinted windows. Have Romeo turn car and AC on 5 min or more before putting baby in car seat to cool off the interior. Carry a frozen ice pack for baby’s bottle bag when traveling in car in extreme hot weather. Always apply baby sunscreen on baby’s exposed areas on extreme hot days or when going outside and find a comfy hat baby leaves on when he is going out doors. Hope you can use some of these things to keep your cute baby safe. We had a set of twin girls with a brother that came along 11 mos later so these are things we did for them. The twins are 19 and brother almost 18😂

Please please please never cover a stroller with a towel or blanket…. This is very outdated advice. As a ER nurse we educate new mums of the danger in doing this as whilst it provides shade, studies have shown it increases the internal temperature of the stroller to dangerously high levels and we regularly treat babies with severe heat stroke/dehydration due to this. Just keep stroller out of the sun, cover exposed areas of skin with a light muslin and use a portable fan attached to stroller. Ideally don’t go out at all during peak temperatures ❤

I am constantly amazed how people function in hot weather. I’ve always been really sensitive to heat and had heat stroke a few times. My sister had a garden sale and I took her a drink and sun screen as it was a hot day. I was out for about 10 minutes, I was shaking, breathless, dizzy. I had to go inside cool myself and lay down. 110 would kill me for sure.

This is a grandma speaking, instead of getting the pre sweetened oatmeal, just get regular oats and cook in the microwave. Then you are not getting anything you don't need in your oats. You can add a bit of pure maple syrup to your oats for sweetness and flavor. NO ADDITIVES.

I kept telling my daughter for her kids. When the baby is born the newborn clothing is only going to fit for two weeks. I always bought the next size up than what they wore because by the time I washed them (they shrink), and then they grow so fast they might be a little big on them for a tiny bit of time but they grow into the clothing "real fast". She didn't listen to me. She still does it buying clothes way too much and not getting a chance to get worn hardly at all. I love the teapot :))))

When you were carrying Cade (blue onsie and in the kitchen) my heart was in my mouth as you had the camera in your other hand. When my son was little, probably a bit older than Cade he would lay like that then suddenly fling himself backwards. Luckily he never came to any harm but carrying him required two arms to prevent him from doing the fling.
