I like clear cabinet glass - with all your beautiful things designed with a little 'Parisian Pinterest', which will enlarge, rather than cut off your living area. The smaller crystals in your bathroom for proportion. My two favourites are those exquisite windows, I'd be inclined to allow them to really shine and, for proportion and for how unexpectedly lovely it is - the black chandelier in the toilet area. Your moms efficiency apartment/flat/studio is adorable. My favorite pieces she brought in were the sink and the wall of natural wood shelves/hutch/shelf as well as the pretty counter top. I love when you two interact together and hope you head back down to Texas to finish your master bedroom and other rooms that need to be completed because then we get to see you and your mom head to more estate sales and the Flea market together!!

Makenna, Your mom's sense of humor and personality are such a joy! She did an excellent job designing the studio cottage-I love her mix of vintage and modern touches. What do you think about adding digitally printed adhesive chicken wire behind some of the glass on the cabinet doors? It's a flexible option that can be removed when she wants a different look, while still showing off her beautiful collections. As for the curtains, I agree with you on the off white color. I can imagine a rich thick velvet sash in a warm gold or deep purple tied back, hung on gorgeous vintage hooks.This would lend the option to open and close the curtains as needed. This video was such a pleasure to watch-the design elements, your family outing, and most of all, the warmth of your relationship touched my heart. It reminded me of my mom, and I miss her dearly. Thank you for sharing this.

Oh, that silhouette of Catalina Island really gets me! My view growing up. Thank you for showing art and its use. I grew up in Laguna, an art colony, and also have artists in my family, so we have collected art, and it sets such a mood for rooms.want I like tying in the living with some rich velvet curtains. Your mom could always switch out linen in Spring and summer, and rich color in Fall and Winter. Either will look so pretty.
