When my son was young I got 24 Christmas books age aproppeate, wrapped them and every night in December we'd open one up and have our story time. Each year I'd get ones for his age. Then wrap them up with used wrap from Christmas. So it would be like a present for me too he's 37 and still talks about it

the estate sale just emphasizes how people in service don’t get the respect they deserve. It really says a lot about all those people who ignored them or was rude to them. I love the pottery bowl, and I also remember reading that book as a kid! Always made me giggle 🤭

My best friend has an estate sale business which I help her in. Yes, people can be very rude; however, we have found the importance of setting the ground rules from the get go, and have never had a problem. We state at the beginning that we don't give put numbers, we allow everyone in at the same time, there is to be no running, pushing, arguing, or disruption of any kind. We also state that we will have you removed of the above is not followed, if we catch someone removing price tags, stealing, or is being abusive of any sort. We have a huge following and email list and the majority of our base knows the rules. We don't hesitate to put items back for people who misbehave. It helps to have staff that know the rules, are personable, and can back each other up. It's imperative that the estate business reflects what is expected of all those involved in order to have a successful sale.

Biloxi Mississippi Girl here. Our family one year for our Christmas Eve party read the Cajun night before Christmas. We each took a turn reading parts of it. In our best Cajun voices. There were about 30 of us. It was hilarious and so much fun.

I worked in Pediatrics in a hospital as well as newborn nursery. I also worked for a group of pediatricians in an office settings. Loving your children’s doctors is so important. ~~That stoneware bowl and all those paintbrushes are great finds. I am a primitive artist. I love to buy brushes. Hoping the weather cools down for you. Up here in Ohio the leaves are turning and it’s cool enough to put the heat on.

MaCenna, pick open the pillow and put in a zipper. Add in an insert,Dry clean the pillowcase. Then you can be sure there’s no bugs,and it’s cleaned well by a dry cleaner.😊

Love your estate sale finds! I wanted to reach in and grab that pitcher at <a href="#" class="seekto" data-time="622">10:22</a>!!! 😂 Enjoyed watching you at the pumpkin farm and the next day. Sales can get crazy, especially if those in charge aren't strong enough personalities to keep the unruly folks in check! As for the people who kept their tickets from a previous sale, she should have taken their "fake" numbers away and given them whatever the next numbers being handed out were. It's their punishment for being awful that they now have to wait and lose the spot in line they would have had if they'd just been honest people. If they gave her any further guff, she should have taken THOSE tickets back as well and simply banned them from the sale altogether! I'm sorry you were so alarmed - I know how you feel, though. I'm the same way - I'd rather just walk away than deal with people who don't understand how normal, polite humans do things. Cade is such a cutie! I love how he's game for anything and doesn't fuss when you're out. He mostly just goes with it and takes it all in! Looks like he's got a bit of his Daddy's personality! 💙

Cade is so cute. When you use the citristrip cover it with plastic wrap because if it dries it won’t work we used it on our entire deck which is huge to remove two layers of paint it was a lot of hard work but it works so good and do it in sections. Kinsley is so nosy 😄 she always looking at you like what about me? 😄

barkeeper friend is good for polishing porcelain and metals. highly recommend. You can also use it to lighten stains on wood

You can refurbish older China with crazing by soaking it in beauty shop grade hydrogen peroxide, you can purchase it in Beaty supply stores. Sometimes it is necessary to let it soak, completely covered, for 3/4 days. It works really well.

You have to remember that many people shopping at estate sales resell for a living and many times estate sales companies do favors to their friends by making sure they are first ones on a list whether they waited in line for it or not, such as the 1-5 numbers, which adds to the hysteria. Most estate sales are picked over in the first 15 minutes for those that know the valuable items. Also estate sale companies need to be transparent about how many people they will let in at a time in their advertisements so people know if it is worth going a hour or two early to wait in line. Many of the issues are created by the estate companies themselves.

I wash all my pillows on delicate in cold water with rest. It is for baby clothes. I use it in all my delicates even my soft blankets and throws they come out beautiful

I miss the pumpkin patch days w my kiddos. But now my daughter is due with our first grandbaby a girl so we get to do it all over. Boy that sounded like a horrible experience w that estate sale. They were not very organized. Being a reseller I go to lots. Never happened before to me. Thank goodness.

Try Barkeeper's Friend for the stained plate. If that doesn't do the trick the plate may be heat damaged from being heated in the oven, and the patina may be permanent.

I once had a garage sale that once I opened the door and not ready yet for people, they rushed in and I ended up selling things I never intended to just because they scared me and made me nervous.

What an awful experience! 🩷 Years ago I had planned to have a yard/garage sale. I found things to add and put price stickers on as I stored them away. When spring came and the sales started up again, I went to a couple with a friend and she liked to get there when they opened. The first couple we went to, we arrived about 5-10 minutes before the posted start time and I saw the poor people still trying to set up and being inundated by people pushing and shoving like animals. I was appalled! I went Joe and placed a call to my charity thrift store to arrange for a pick up of all the stuff I'd been saving. It wasn't worth the few hundred dollars max I'd have made to have to deal with that.
