maybe you can catalogue all the decor you have in the storage unit by taking photos of everything and keeping them in a folder on your computer! then when you decorate rooms you already have everything you can choose from digitally

Amazing finds!! While in culinary school we learned to make a copper polish (for our pots and pans) out of equal parts flour, course salt, and enough white vinegar to make it a paste.

Re watching some videos for inspiration and I feel MaCenna should make her own coffee book with a lovely neutral book colour. Some of her own photography, her products all on vintage thrifting and diy. I would definitely want a copy if it was sold in the UK.

As someone who has most of their possessions in a storage unit and ~wished~ they did this - take pictures of where your things are and label boxes where you can. Or at the very least color code what storage your boxes are doing. As someone who's had to "unpack" their storage unit to get to their winter clothes, don't make my mistakes.

Oh my goodness I am obsessed with the free mirror frame! Can't wait to see what you do with it. I also loved those large tree bulbs on the bottom shelf. They kinda reminded me of blueberries. Like giant blueberries! 🤣😂 I really think those could be recreated pretty easily. Just get the plain glass larger bulbs and paint them with the baking soda mixture. A few years back I found a pair of brown suede pants and they had like the perfect gingerbread color. So i did a project with all the kids that were at my house. We used gingerbread cookie cutters and used them for stencils. Then cut them out of the pants. I let each kid make a girl or boy then they colored on the face and clothes with paint, markers or whatever they decided to pick. Each kid did two sides and then I put plastic grocery bags between them for stuffing and stitched them up. They were Seriously so dang pretty like I would love to make them again! If you did them for your tree I promise you wouldn't regret it. Such a pretty homemade look.

You should paint the inside of that old mirror frame with chalk paint!! and put pretty calligraphy in it or something :) it would be so cute as wedding decor to display the menu for the night or whatever else in calligraphy!

The chair you found is a Thonet bentwood chair. The technique patented by Michael Thonet allowed for mass production of this type of furniture. Basically, older version of a modern day folding or stacking chair!

A good way for you to always remember what you have in storage is to take pictures of each stuff and make a document with the pics and info (size, materials, etc). That way you can check what you have whenever you want to without much fuss

Two things sprang to mind right away watching. I just recently cleaned a copper kitchen tool caddy that I'd only used decoratively for years, and what worked really well with some scrubbing was Barkeepers Friend. Much less messy than actual smelly metal polish. And, I've been sharing another tip whenever the subject comes up, and that is, that two ounces of dry pasta, any kind, is one serving. I'm 75 and only heard of this a couple of years ago, and wish I'd know sooner because it works out pretty well, just about right once it's cooked. Why don't they tell people such a simple handy measurement? So much easier than trying to fit spaghetti into a hole in some gadget. Get a cheap or expensive kitchen scale and you're set, and it's good for many other uses too. 😊

Spread ketchup on the copper let it dry. Cut a lime in half pour some salt on it and use it to scrub the ketchup out. Even if you only use the ketchup it works. ☮️ Stay safe, be happy

I'm always so envious of the cool things you find in the thrift stores/flea markets near you! What I came here to say though is that brass (and I think copper) can be cleaned REALLY well with Ketchup :) always worth a try before buying the expensive cleaners!

To clean brass mix 1 tsp salt, 1/2 cup white vinegar and add all purpose flour to make a paste. Cover the brass with the paste and let it sit for 15 minutes. Rinse and buff dry. Works way better than chemical commercial cleaners.

omg when I first got married 22yrs ago we brought that exact tea/coffee/sugar/pasta jars along with 3 matching jelly molds( that's english jelly mold, )as you say jelly for our jam,so not sure what you'd call them. Got rid of them as such a bind to keep them clean and brought wood,and now on to white pot,as bit farmhouse kitchen but English farmhouse. Sorry babbling along just so excited to see them again. Xxx

Could you possibly do a brass restoration video sometime? I have a brass lamp that was my great-grandmother's and it's been really rough shape. I love that it's not in perfect condition because I think that adds to the office visual appeal of it but I just want to add a little more life to it. I'm also addicted to buying the brass taper candle holders. and have been on the hunt for some brass oil lamps for Christmas decor this year! IKEA has a few cute battery operated ones

That "Parisan" chair is from theclassic Öglan series fr ikea. Probaly a vintage version with cusions. ;) See it all the time in real estate decor here in stockholm ;)
