Romina may not be the biggest or flashiest boss in the DLC, but her fight is just GOOD. No gimmicks, no endless combos, no random bs like waterfowl dance. Just a well designed, challenging, and over all balanced fight. And can we talk about how unique and stunning her design is? Love the color palette.

I did not want to kill her because she was so beautiful. And yes, Miyazaki is getting crazy about these flashy, powerful, but ultimately unsatisfying bosses. Romina is a splendid exception. Her fights lets you rely on instinct and you get to dance with her, unlike Morgott and his TERRIBLE DELAY ATTACKS. Radagon was the only, the ONLY boss I enjoyed fighting, but Romina now holds second place.

Placi's strategy is literally being asleep throughout the whole battle, eating all that damage, then he suddenly wakes up realising he has lost 80% of his health, and then goes absolutely berserk, teleporting and swiping again and again until the opponent either catches him mid-flight or dies.

Romina's collision pushed her into rocks in the middle of it, so must've caused the attack to bug out. Not sure if players can interrupt it in the same way.

The other boss pushed her into the terrain wall and the game forced her to perform her "landing" animation when she hit the invisible wall. It also triggers if you get attacked while airborn. Ever seen an enemy trip over a single stair or had your character trip and take a long time to stand up over a small rock? It's the same thing here. But only other bosses can do this to Malenia, we have no way of pushing her as players.

Because the whole 'flower and butterflies' association of the Scarlet Rot was invented by Romina. Before Romina, Rot was more associated with insects and scorpions, but Romina created the 'scarlet rot' and made it look like a gift to ease its spreading.

Still, if he had done anything other than that roar at the end, he probably would have killed her. Not to mention, the DLC bosses are much stronger because of the Scadutree fragments we take. I don’t think the outcome would be the same if they had equal scaling.

A full health bar version of straight up Maliketh without a Beast Clegyman first form would be top 5. I get that boss has 2 forms, but the differences between the 2 are immense in my experience of playthroughs.

Many of those videos scale up the base game bosses to match the DLC; and unlike Consort Radahn (who is weak to scarlet rot), Romina resists scarlet rot. Moreover, Romina interrupted Malenia's Scarlet Aeonia bomb attack, which helped.
