The Opening Number for Broadway Cares/ Equity Fights Aids 23rd Annual GYPSY OF THE YEAR Competition. Created as a tribute to the 40th Anniversary of GREASE on Broadway, it featured the Original Broadway Cast including Barry Bostwick, Carole Demas, Walter Bobbie, Adrienne Barbeau, Alan Paul, Katie Storer, Mews Smalls, Joy Rinaldi, Donny Dietch, James Canning, Don Billett, Tom Harris and Ilene Kristen. PRODUCED by TOM VIOLA and MICHAEL GRAZIANO. DIRECTION and CHOREOGRAPHY by ROMMY SANDHU with loving participation by PAT BIRCH (Original Broadway Choreographer). Tears streaming down my face! . . . . Wonderful to see the "originals" (post 1971 Chicago) together and sharing a piece of most of our lives who grew up in the 70's and counted Grease as a major milestone in our lives! . . . Very touching tribute! 😊

I saw this original cast Grease was my first Broadway show. I went to the Royale theater holding a drawing i did of Alan Paul but was too shy to go backstage to give it to him. I still have it. I still love Grease!

If Tim Meyers was still alive I would've loved to see him perform Greased Lightning as Kinickie, Barry did a great job though

The raunchy version was the original, and this one says "pussy wagon" like how it originally was. The original show was very dirty and raw which was awesome. Movie changed a lot unfortunately, adding disco sounding music to what's supposed to be the late 50s lol
