Ron Copperman: From Zen Buddhism to Jesus

Raised in a Jewish family, Ron Copperman attended Hebrew school and participated in a Jewish boys’ club. After becoming a follower of the Jewish Messiah, Copperman spent twelve years as a minister in a youth detention center, nine years leading drug rehabilitation support groups, and several years conducting street ministry. He is passionate about his faith and sharing the hope he’s found in Yeshua with those around him.

Thanks Ron. Much of your story was like mine. I was searching for God and thought that meant anything but Jesus. I too came to faith when high on hashish. That encounter made me higher, and I never came down. God is amazing. He searches out rebels like me who had a real hunger. I have been a Messianic pastor for 25 years. Another miraculous story.

Jesus prayed to his God during the night of crucifixion. God need not prayed to himself. What was the name of His God? Do you know? Virgin mother son was a prophet and Every prophet in this earth worship to 1 Allah. Early zews distorted the name of god and made it plural form "elohim". And Christians began to worship Jesus as son of god by Paul's . In 225 AD church father tertullian introduced the doctrine of Trinity. In 323 AD church adopted the doctrine of trinity in bible. Arabs didn't invent The name " Allah ". They inherited this word from prophet Ibrahim and his son prophet ismael who built the Kaaba by order of Allah. But latterly his descendants forgot the true monotheism teaching of Prophet Ibrahim and associated Allah with different kind of deities. That's why, Almighty Allah again sent His last prophet Muhammad ( peace be upon on him) to His final revelation.

I had an experience like that, the girl on acid, at a rock festival before I got saved. I think what it is is God's Holy Spirit trying to work in people's lives, not that they're there yet. I was stoned on acid, went up a little knoll and this guy is praying. I asked what he was doing, and he said he was "repenting" and seeking God. So I came back down the knoll to the path, walking back with people to the tents. I told my friend this guy up there was crazy, and somehow he was right behind me and said "No, I'm not" !!! It freaked me out. He did not come down the hill with me. He just kind of appeared. I also helped some Christians paint a sign that said JESUS is the bread of life. When all the free food from Portland city ran out, the Christians' bread fed everybody. Not long after that I accepted JESUS.

I went from Christian to atheist to New Age to Agnostic. I am liking the Agnostic the best as I can think for myself and don't have to be forced to participate in other peoples dogmatic rules and I don't have to agree 100% to be accepted. No I am not following the woke religion either.

There are universal truths that transcend religions which are just cultural containers in my eyes, of which the earliest teachings thereof seem to be the truest representation that become corrupted over time. That's why some say to go within because that's where you're gonna have to go to connect to the divine or higher self anyway.

I met Jesus in the midest of the weirdest place after doing Ayhusca in the Amason. I was from another religon and never read the Bible and I heard "I am the Alpha and the omega the begenning and the end" and then answered all my questions. Now seven years after and so many ups and downs in my life I find peace, total peace in God and in God's alone ❤

My husband and I traveled to the grotto of St. Paul in Malta. I felt it in me to kneel and pray on the stones. When I did my heart was a flame inside. It felt a soft and peaceful love, but like a fire was burning the hottest flame. It was God in my heart. I love Him so much!!!!

The word "rich" here is about Him being here as ONLY human, not about gold, silver and paper currency. It was NECESSARY to do so because He came as the last Adam, Adam in Hebrew means man. The first Adam committed high treason to God and caused the separation of humanity from God. Jesus HAD to come as a human to redeem humanity. He could NOT come as God. 0:20 "That one, the one who hates me" it happens more often than people know. A lot of muslims, Jews and atheists are saved after years of mocking Jesus. i am a christian and i was so much into buddhism and hinduism i listend to many monks and gurus , i felt very good and felt that it is the right thing to follow especially zen buddhism , because it doesnt judge its just things as they are , and after that i stoped listening at all , no gurus nothing .... not long ago i had a feeling that i need to wear a cross necklece it wasnt a thought just a feeling , so i wear it , and then there is a girl on instagram im trying to flirt with , but she started talking to me about the bible and tells me to read it , after that in a couple of days i saw some guy i know told me to start to go to the church where he goes , and also i had a dream , i had a dream about im making love to a woman and there was a cap beside us with a cross on it , and the cap was upside down so he cross , and i twisted the cap so the cross now is right , and then the girl was putting music on her phone and i look at the screen and it says" im satan " and i woke up scared and started to pray and since this dream happened i pray everynight and started to read bible verses and im now following jesus .

Recently a friend has been going to sauna's, spa's and saying " I feel so zen" "I'm zenned out now" and we often toss this word around and I just discovered it means: The meaning of ZEN is a Japanese sect of Mahayana Buddhism that aims at enlightenment by direct intuition through meditation. | I'm horrified. @@anonymous01792 I've deeply studied/practiced every realm of metaphysics/different religions as God allowed me to prior to 2017. He allowed me I believe so I can discern between every other spirit roaming through and fro this earth and be able to one day firmly without doubt recognize HIS Holy spirit sent to help all restless souls on this earth to understand. He sends the HOLY Spirit for us to taste and see for ourselves on a PERSONAL level how true, comforting, firm and eternal His GOOD character is for HIS eternal purpose and that the Bible proves true. You reap what you sow here. What you practice/speak you reap of what you spoke/did. Have you ever felt an elephant in the room or your spirit just KNEW something was off while in words a person you're speaking with has opposite intentions of what is spoken? Have you ever been able to read between the lines of what is spoken and said? Someone can be complimenting you on surface level while disrespecting you in context only YOU know while others can't detect what's happening. Our minds/intentions matter. Every intention/energy matters and integrity matters because it has the power to causes drifts in relationships and destroy mental and emotional and physical health. We can FEEL people, their hearts and intentions from miles away. Everything on this earth whether we bury our heads in the sand, ignore it and move on from it...everything we do matters here. We're traveling through this life but we live it so casually as if nothing matters. It is horrifying because if you woke up in a random hospital or hotel room in the middle of no where one day, wouldn't you ask WHERE you are, why, what time, how you got there, how you'll leave and go home? This is us now and yet we're so casual about how we exist. When we stop being casual about our existence, you find answers. Yeshua is our saviour through all the spiritual and physical debt and sin we've sown since birth. Everything rattling up your nerves, everything that makes you feel empty, confused, whatever in this life stops once you start having a relationship with Yeshua. He helps us to understand the Bible when you invite the HOLY spirit HE sent into our lives. The Bible supernaturally helps us to SEE this. The Bible truly a LIVING Word of God cutting through our intentions, minds, hearts in specific situations throughout our years and He speaks to all very personally through them with air tight precision. And when you experience this over and over again in shocking awe inspiring ways... you'll know that He is real and can't ever deny this. Its different from buddhism, hinduism, manifestation or law of attraction. Those metaphysical practices sounds loving, free, surrendering to be de-attached while attaching itself to demons and groom narcisissm. And when you know, you KNOW that you do not want to profess that you belong to or that you are something of a demonic spiritual entity "being zen" being part of that. There is NOTHING casual about what you think, speak and do on this earth. If you ever had a loved one you poured your heart to and given everything to turn their back and go cuddle up with the exact person who was committed by vindictive vandetta to take every opportunity they had to slander, warp your character, smear campaign to turn your family and friends against you is when you know you never want to casually involve yourself in anything that is outside of who God is and what Yeshua who truly lived, died, resurrected to save your soul and take your debts so you can get to heaven. Betrayal is a sick feeling. Being cheated on and not believed in when you've done everything good for another person is a sick feeling. I never ever want to turn my back on a living God who protects me, He is to always be praised, loved in reciprocation, respected and highly honoured because without His protection and in my own willfull and unknowing sins... I am anxious, distressed, angry, horrified, unlucky, miserable in every way. I am so grateful constantly and peaceful and joyful for no reason and in many reasons throughout my days because He gives me reasons to be joyful in my friendship with Him. I want to keep that kind of intimacy and love. I never want to feel what I felt when I racked up spiritual sins in my life. He is real, never betray. Narrow is the gate and I pray we all strive our best to find it.

@John S. ジョン・サラ It is quite serious as it concerns your soul. Anyone who meditates does so to bring some sort of a balance in their mental/emotional/physical state of being. The difference is that when I was practicing/studying/meditating and practicing alignment/flow to reach a state of "zen" / kundalini etc buddhism was borrowed from Hinduism I can go deep and tell you about each and every bit of it if you would like. So I gained so much head knowledge and practiced it until I reached a certain state and knew it is dangerous and not safe at all. I thought if I was to match and vibrate at a God level frequency by meditation and being in alignment which such things I would become like God as is it taught in Buddhism/Hinduism... because everything is interconnected. so yes I do know a lot about this realm of spirituality and having experienced that, I irrefutably on every cellular level of my being know: that there is one true sovereign energy and that all source is God of Isreal of the Bible is the One and only true God. Period. It is life or death matter. Your existence is not casual. We are not all God, not everything is God. He created all things and yes it all interconnectively works together but it does not mean we are God. the first sin in the Bible was to distort truth to believe that we can become like God. There is one truth at the end of each rigorous study and the truth is found in the epitome of what relationship is = LOVE. the epitome of showing commitment to love = marriage and there is no marriage or any relationship at all without concept of forgiveness and God demonstrated it for human beings through time, choosing/using Israel that through His blood that we may receive salvation on this earth transitioning into the after life that its impossible to wrap our minds around. All we need to get is this: receive free gift of forgiveness in believing Yeshua as your personal saviour who died as a signature on the cross for your dna/life then He will show you the rest. God allowed me to practice everything and drew a line so they I may be able to fully mature and understand how wrong I was. When He shows you your soul matters and that every detail of your life matters, every intention, thought, words you utter on earth... there is no need for our own standard of personal human self righteousness. No amount of flow and meditation and regulating the nervous system will ever be an answer to why you are alive today. God loves you and there is a deceiving spirit pulling us all in directions to pull us away from the truth of a living God, our own free will to know and accept His forgives is how you can truly once and for all heal from the darkest parts of your life. God knows your past, present and future. I'm glad you're on here seeking and reading comments. I pray you find life and truth in Yeshua by asking Him into your life and showing you what the truth is. When you know, you know. All glory to God for showing me and your family this if you open the doors to Him. Love is both ways. He never forces His way in to your life.

I will say that thich nat han has been a good teacher for me as far as learning meditation and mindfulness. Im still a christian but i do beleive god worked through that man. In the very least to help us christians return to meditation in god. I beleive that is very important.

I was also an enemy to God before Him saving me from the endless pit and deep swamp I was blindly walking as a atheist. He reached for me and pulled me back from my slumber through a sudden heart electrical malfunction, and after months of feeling the icy touch of death in me, I finally found Christ and accepted Him as Savior and Lord. I had a (real) heart circumcision intervention to fix the electrical problem and Yeshua saves me and sanctifies me every day since then through the Holy Spirit, blessed be Him forever amin! My spirit fills up with joy whenever my sweet savior the Ram of God and Lion of Judah is accepted and recognized as Messiah by His nation, the Jewish people to Him be the glory forever and ever amin!

That was the revelation I had too! It was everything Except Jesus... You can't even mention his name, but you can talk about all the other deities, goddesses and Yogi... why not Jesus, then once you do your out of the "club" and find it was just another dead end. Not to mention how weird your body feels when you are doing yoga and then you don't. I was in literal physical pain and when I wasn't I was and still am at times lethargic. I can relate with all the marijuana and drugs I started to become delusional and psychotic. I felt dirty I can't explain it but in the Lord's presence I felt dirty. Fantastic Testimony. Stay in the light. stay close to Jesus. The emptiness is so dark it's really hard to face it even now and how hard my heart had become.

Hey Simon , I feel compelled to share this with you . The 1st time I took Communion I was at a Christian mens camp out . I felt like I was initiated into a secret select group of warrior priest whom were going into battle. There is a lot more to my story . For now I will also share this . At different times on my path I felt comfort and security from the Father God and I feared Jesus rath and at other times I felt comfort and security from Jesus presence and feared the rath of the father. I have never felt comfortable with the trinity concept and at even labored against it , struggling to associate with trinitaryians . Eventually I gave in and asked Jesus in prayer are you the father or are you the son ? The answer I received is YES. Now I'm working at accepting the Holy Spirit as equal to the Father and Son not just a helper. I also recognize that this whole thing is beyond my limited understanding. I intended to keep my comment short so I will stop for now . May God bless you , your Family and community with good health and your daily needs according to his Will!

I've gone full circle after studying both Buddhism and Jesus . I spent many years studying who glued, built and created the Bible and found many issues I disliked, I eventually started studying Buddhism . Very impressed with the discipline of the mind concerning Buddhism. However again I started to find challenges with Buddhism I did not like . What I don't like about Buddhism is spending an entire lifetime literally practicing and meditating for hours and hours everyday just to break the cycle of rebirth and suffering so one doesn't reincarnate back into this realm ultimately reaching nirvana . It's almost like slow, methodical, precise very detailed suicide , extremely passive in relationship to our environment. I came to the conclusion I wouldn't mind coming back this realm, is it really that bad, after all my experience has been beautiful including with all my suffering . Furthermore Buddhism fails to accept true love, although loving-kindness is constantly mentioned however not even close to true love . Buddhism doesn't even mention the family unit, mother father and children, only Monks who take up the robe and meditate entire lifetime as if children don't exist along with their family just children in monasteries miniature monks . I eventually returned to Jesus because as far as I'm concerned I needed to be forgive and only Jesus has the power, authority and love to forgive the dark heart I have no monk on the planet or me has that authority not even the Dharma.
