It has been a joy to listern to you. I was a Christian who became a Chan Priest but even so I still love Jesus of Nazaereth. I recognise after your inspiring words that my Zen is the 'other Zen your Zen Master mentioned to you...just Zen.

@na Agreed. Never forget Christ, Hennessy. With respect to Buddhism and the Buddha, the sacrifice and Lordship of Jesus Christ is the ONLY foundation for salvation.

Here is some Zen Christianity: "The mind knows itself by means of itself, because at length it acquires knowledge of itself, though led thereto by its own act: because it is itself that it knows since it loves itself." -St. Thomas Aquinas, Summa Theologica I, q. 87, a. 1, ad. 1

That’s maybe called Zen, but that’s definitely not Christianity. Because the Bible doesn’t say to love yourself, but to love God first. True knowledge is find in God only. We are not saved by our selfs but because Jesus died for us and came back alive. He is the truth. There is maybe some knowledge in other religions, but knowledge is not the same as wisdom. True wisdom comes from the Lord. If wisdom is not the Lord, what is wisdom?

Having genuine satori would come with an understanding that it is not a specific mark of accomplishment.

remember, christians eastern religions lean more toward understanding the self to see it as an illusion you aren't required to worship anything, look into taoism its even less so. its more of a philosophy. even if you just add meditation in terms that line up with your faith incorporating it into prayer. it is the art of peace

I use Angel meditations with biblical scripture and use them together as one practice in meditations I also do that with my own meditation for the holidays it's called haiku Christmas carols sit down you meditate and listen deeply to the words of Christmas carols and meditate on each meaning of the lyrics then I light a yellow and a red candle Yoda represent the Buddha and his flowing robe of wisdom. And red to represent Christ's blood that was shed upon the cross burn frankincense and myrrh I. Pay Hermitage to the Buddha and I pay homage to Jesus mood changing praise and singing Christmas carol we go to the Buddhist temple we offer a Yule Cake we also sing we wish you a Merry Christmas and at the end we say May the Buddha bless you always May the Dharma guide you

We also go to Attend services at the Buddhist temple and then we go to the Catholic Church to gain a better perspectiveand then we give gifts and we have a family birthday cake for Jesus likewise we also have rice pudding the Buddha so the tradition is we have the rice pudding on the 24th for dessert in the 25th is reserved for the birthday cake for the familybut before this we deliver the birth of the Yule log cake to monks

Bible says to meditate on "the law" (the Ten Commandments) Josh 1:8, Ps 1:2, on "thee" (God) Ps 63:6, on "thy work" Ps 77:12, "meditation of him" (of God) Psalm 104:34,"in thy precepts" (Gods commandments and instructions) Ps 119:15, "in thy statues" (Gods law) Ps 119:23,48,78,"thy law" (Ten Commandments) Ps 119:97, "thy testimonies" Ps 119:99, "meditate in thy word" (the scriptures/Bible) Ps 119:148, "I will meditate on all thy works" Ps 143:5,"meditate upon these things"(doctrine etc)1Tim.4:15

The word "meditation" holds a different meaning based on the context in which it is used. In the Biblical context, it does mean to think about God and his laws, as you suggested. But in the Buddhist context, it is a practice of connecting with one's inner being. This practice has been around for thousands of years. It is not "New Age" as in something that occurred recently as you suggested. It is just adopted by the movement last century...

I don’t necessarily think that Buddhism’s concepts are foreign to the Melchizadekian Path, that includes Judaism and Christianity. Perhaps the Buddha, peace be upon him, was meant to condition the understanding of the Eastern Nations toward authentic spirituality.

If you slip back because of sin, go to confession. Sin is sin. The devil warps the language to suit his lies. Please don’t listen to this man. Catholics, this is an example of who not to follow. We’re faithful to the Lord Christ, the Gospel, and Holy Mother Church. The Catholic Church is the true path to happiness, holiness, and Oneness with God Almighty in Jesus Christ, by the power and workings of the Holy Spirit! The Holy Eucharist IS GOD! GO, RUN in front of the tabernacle and you’ll see God when he comes to you in prayer, the Holy Mass, during Holy Communion, in reading the catechism, in the Holy Sacraments!

Notice at no point does he talk about Jesus Christ, the gospel, salvation, the church, heaven, hell, nothing. How’s he a catholic priest? Priests like these need to leave the priesthood because saving souls is not their concern, it’s leading them away from salvation in Jesus Christ. The worship of creation vs. the Creator (God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit) then you can be sure it’s all man made and do not lead to heaven. See how the man talks about the “lady was one with the rock,” umm, aren’t we supposed to be One with God? Of course! And bro, sin is sin. We can’t change God’s mind on the topic.

yea this is the new age meditation, which is completely different from Biblical meditation!. If you want to meditate according to the Bible, it has nothing to do with "breathing", nor is it a "cessation of the thought process" and it is never to empty oneself or ones thoughts or look within oneself..., But it is instead to think about God and his law, the Ten Commandments, his precepts (commandments, instructions), his statues (law) , his testimonies, his works, doctrine, and his word

Kaste Helmi jesus said the kingdom of god is within im a follower of christ yet can understand all are different paths with very similar ideals and the same ultimate goal -union with ones higher self/kingdom of heaven and through that the ability to love that god with all your being and second to love ones neibours-realising were brothers and sisters each on our own spiritual path (for what is the narrow path christ speaks of but the narrowness of our own individual path)christs teachings are of very high consciousness and trancend worldly shackles just like budhas

A Zen Christian recognises that not only is there a spiritual battle with emotions, but also with words, structures, shapes and materials. Jesus taught us that if we are caught up in these distractions, that his way can save us. Bhuddism does not teach this grace. Buddhism does not believe in a saviour, but it is important to know that you can be at your worst, your worst does exist, once you know, you have full control of your personality and emotions, they are tools for you.
