I've been on and off drinking, recently taking another break because every time I stop it's because I've drank myself into an atrocious darkness. I'm grateful that I've been able to succeed on my own, but I think a big part of my success has been that I took relatively small amounts of LSD for a week straight, and the consistant buzzed feeling helped with the withdrawls and cravings for alcohol. I've got some undiagnosed and untreated mental health issues, too, and psychadelics have really helped taking the cutting edge off of them. I probably still need standard treatments but it's nice to be able to sort of cope on my own.

that was easily one of the best joe rogan clips ive ever watched in my life. ive been in a similar situation (just at rehab no iowaska) but the people i met there and the conversations we had felt like i was meant to be there like he said. It felt like a big sigh of relief after one of the longest and darkest periods of my life. I'm sure coming off hard drugs had a lot to do with it, but being around people who are focused on your needs and don't judge you is so helpful in every way. i wish we had more access to places like these without having to get to such a bad place to begin with. i wish more places were like that in general. Just beautiful spoken by this man i heard joe say this conversation was great but i had little to no knowledge of who ron white was and im very glad i got here from the theo von iowaska clip im definitely going to listen to this episode now. the way he described it brought me right back to smoking cigs late at night out by the fire all going through a similar journey that we could to relate to eachother with while being on completely different ends of every walk of life. it was beautiful and really helpful to teleport back there for a moment the day after my childhood pet passed away and that blackness is having another go at me as we speak. very much appreciated i think i will return to this video periodically and if you read this whole comment i appreciate you thank you for being interested enough to read what i have to say. you can do hard things. we all can. together.

stay strong, I was clean for 3 years then relapsed. I doubt I will again but there is no denying that drugs feel good and get their hooks into you. You have to try to only remember the bad, and forget any good feelings they gave you. in perspective over time, the bad always outweighs the good.

Joe is the best listener I've ever seen. Most people would try to pipe in their own thoughts or questions but Joe just keeps listening. It's hard to do with people who talk slow. We listen, at least, 2X faster than people talk. Our minds then wander and we quit listening. Joe seems to have found a way to just listen.

This is the issue and why it is banned in many areas... people love to say this and promote it, but they will not defend the public who sees the odd behavior of people who are "druggies" and overuse every single thing they can get their hands on (I grow herb and know all about myco products, im not bashing just trying to bring education to the medicine and moderation legalization for natural plants that are banned and should NOT be)

@Darren It’s totally ok to have your own opinions on the subject. I just don’t understand why someone feels they have to crap all over other peoples attempts of enlightenment or spirituality. I’ve personally never had the opportunity to take psychedelics, so I feel I couldn’t agree or disagree with your opinion on the matter. Everyone has their own road to travel. Who am I to criticize or critique someone else’s chosen path to enlightenment? That being said, I do feel your comment is uncalled for and unnecessary. Again, everyone has their own road to travel. How they personally choose to travel, what medium they choose to entertain if any, and what direction their journey takes them is theirs to choose and theirs alone. If they choose prayer in order to communicate with their chosen God, more power to them. If it’s more of an inner conflict, to find themselves or to find purpose, maybe it takes the form of specific psychedelics. Our personal perspectives on any number of topics are as varied as our fingerprints and DNA. It was the “BS” part of your reply that rubbed me the wrong way. As much as you are entitled to your own opinions on this or any given subject, and you are entitled to have one, I still feel it’s wrong to call “BS” when referring to aspects of someone else’s personal preferences of spirituality. I mean, yeah, you can say his choice was bullshit. But your opinions on the matter don’t carry anymore weight or value that his does about yours. It holds as much value as mine does. Which is to say, my opinions about your opinions don’t matter to you. I just thought that it was pretty vain and self righteous to call bullshit on someone else’s spirituality.

Good for you Ron. Alcoholism and or addiction are extremely hard to overcome. Although there is no cure quality of life improves more and more as time passes. I know I've been clean myself since April of 2013.

Well done 👍, there is a cure though , it’s completely healing the wounded child within . It’s hard work , but worth the journey to rewrite the traumatized mind . Search dr. Gabor mate , he has some great insights into healing.

So stoked for Mr. White. Last I heard from him (specifically on Rogan) he was finished with stand up. Presumably at a time while drinking heavily. Glad to hear he's on the come up and that he'll do more comedy. Hopefully he'll put out another special!

Just saw you two at Vulcan Gas Company!! Awesome show soooo good. You two and Tony Hinchcliff killed it. Tony is fearless, Ron is the best story teller, and Joe is down to earth. ❤️

At the word unicorn, I'd like to say I'm glad it's Ron White telling me about commercialized tripping, which I agree everyone needs to experience as an adult or slightly sooner.
