People who have seen this clip were shocked and appalled. Not only does the woman claim that she never thought she would agree with a dictatorship crushing the U.S., she fully supports the idea of Trump being that dictator, and single-handedly ruling over the nation. While the woman’s words alone should strike fear into your heart for the fate of our country, the audience’s response is the most telling. There was not a moment of concern on many of the attendees’ faces. Instead, many of the attendees, like Bannon, were grinning from ear to ear as they applauded the outrageous idea of elevating Trump to a dictator. The woman’s comment and the crowd’s reaction is a serious cause for concern. Why continue as a democracy when we can go the way of Russia&Venezuela? And these very same people have the audacity to call themselves "patriots."

Thank you for bringing Ron Reagan to the table on this topic. Too many people in the U.S. have "re-worked" their own concept of Republican Party principles into a odd sort of acceptance of what has happened to their party in the last few decades. I grew up in a Republican household (during the 50s and 60s), and somewhere along the way "my party" left me. I didn't leave them. They left me. Almost overnight, I was voting Democrat - because that was the party that espoused my personal moral, and political, philosophies.

I guess I agree with you. There is a part of me that wants to see them admit they were wrong, just because they have been so disgusting in their support of him. So honestly, I would like to see them eat some humble pie (or at least apologize to the rest of us for what they have done). Still I don’t expect to see it. What I do expect (and hope) is that when Harris wins, a lot of the MAGA go back under the rocks they used to hide under, before racism was acceptable again. If the remaining Republicans have the balls to divorce themselves from Trump, and the MAGA voters they might be able to reform into a political party again with a platform other than to fully support the 1%. There are some conservative ideas that could resonate like less of the regulations that make it so hard to build affordable housing. But honestly I am not sure they even know their own values at this point.

People who have seen this clip were shocked and appalled. Not only does the woman claim that she never thought she would agree with a dictatorship crushing the U.S., she fully supports the idea of Trump being that dictator, and single-handedly ruling over the nation. While the woman’s words alone should strike fear into your heart for the fate of our country, the audience’s response is the most telling. There was not a moment of concern on many of the attendees’ faces. Instead, many of the attendees, like Bannon, were grinning from ear to ear as they applauded the outrageous idea of elevating Trump to a dictator. The woman’s comment and the crowd’s reaction is a serious cause for concern. Why continue as a democracy when we can go the way of Russia&Venezuela? And these very same people have the audacity to call themselves "patriots."

I miss President Reagan- I came of age during his term as President. 1984 was the first time I was eligible to vote and I proudly voted for Reagan. I remember being in college when he said "Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall!" I also remember studying Stalinism and Stalin's 'cult of personality'. I remember watching as I began to study and realize the long term damage to the Russian people after decades of living under a crushing regime. It makes me wonder if today's Rebublican Party could either be so 'unaware' of quite recent history and world events or perhaps they preferred to skip High School History class, preferring instead to 'conspire' regarding blowing up toilets with M-80's or playing practical jokes on the principal! I've seen lots of changes in our democracy, I even witnessed the partys shift during the Civil rights movement. Barry Goldwater and the Dixicrats becamr the new Republican Party. Rendered 40 year high inflation 7. Decreased individual purchase power and negated pay raises due to their inflation 8. Nearly added millions more to the unemployment lines if not for the Supreme Court largely striking down Biden's attempted unilateral move to use OSHA to enforce Covid-19 vaccine mandates. 9. Thrown long time members of the Armed Forces out of the military for not getting the Covid-19 injections. Support Our Troops, indeed. 10. Left the southern border and immigration enforcement overrun 11. Caused the debacle that was the evacuation from Afghanistan. 12. Handed the Taliban $80 billion in US military hardware. Because guns in the wrong hands are only dangerous in the US 13. Handed Afghanistan to the Taliban 14. Emboldened Putin to invade Ukraine due to perceived US weakness(see number 13) 15. Have curtailed US oil production only to beg OPEC to produce more oil. Because it's not bad for the environment if it doesn't happen here. 16. Have caused $5-9.00/gallon gasoline 17. May well render a crippling recession And they've only been at it for 18 months.

Don't you know about his little deal with Iran about the hostages back in the 80s, to prevent Jimmy Carter from being re-elected...... don't release the hostages before the election, Reagan will win and give you a better deal. The issue is, the son's political views differ significantly from his father's and the son has always favored the Democratic party. So, as a history teacher, you should consider the possibility that the son's views are extremely biased. I suspect Ronald Reagan would have issues with both parties today. I don't think he would buy into today's "wokeness". I don't think he'd like Trump.
