Great video Ron, thanks for taking the time to put it together and share. Was just out looking for something this morning while nursing a sore back from spraying the yard yesterday. Just what the doctor ordered! 👍

Hi Ron! I have been looking at doing this exact thing to several of my sprayers as I have a herniated disc in my lower back. Great job here.. One thing to mention about those sharp zip tie ends... use a simple lighter and slightly melt the end of the zip tie and it will no longer be sharp... Cheers!

Thank you for sharing this idea. I need to waterproof my chimney again and have no desire for hauling my 30 foot extension ladder around. This idea will work great off a shorter ladder. Thanks again.

Ron Walters, thank you for making that video and sharing that idea. I made my own sprayer like yours and it worked great and was what I was looking for. I was able to spray the lawn without bending and getting my back sore. Thank you

wow this is an excellent idea.... im gonna do this so i can spray cleaner on the siding on my house without using a ladder... thank for a great video

Great idea. I need this because I garden pretty densely in a wide area and the plants have overgrown the original gardener's path. I need exactly three feet of wand and now I can get it!

Great idea Ron. I will copy this. Sprayed two gallons already this week and man you are right. This pinpoint spraying kills my back also.

I used your idea to spray mold in my attic. I was able to reach way down in the eaves easily. Thanks!

I was going to do exactly the same thing!! What chemical did you use to spray? Bleach?

Thank you for this. I used a long round wooden dowel instead of the fiberglass and it's a solid support.

Oh wow. You gave me a great idea. I’m going to build one only mine will be 10-12 foot long. Attached to a tree pruning pole to spray tree killer on a neighbour’s tree. Whoops did I type that. Lol. Only want to kill over hanging branches.

Good modification for us with back aches. Now you just need to rig a strap to hang it on your shoulder so you don't get wrist problems. Thanks for sharing!

I don't understand why they don't offer longer wands. My back kills after using my sprayer. I may have to try this modification. Thanks for sharing!

Omg thank you. I bought a 42” extender that doesn’t fit my sprayer. I need to spray my 2nd story roof siding.

It's a bit of a stretch. I think replacement wands are available for dirt cheap (and if you're lucky, and you can increase the odds with the internet at your finger tips) you can get the same type of wand, but in longer length, leaving you with a set of spare o-rings and parts from the shorter for the longer one.
@RonaldWalters20108 жыл бұрын
I also thought sprayer manufacturers would offer longer replacement wands but could not find a single one. Even went to the stores that cater to the "professionals" for lawn and tree care. Their solution for reaching further was to use a powered sprayer and jet it out there. There was one piece of junk on the internet (and I think it was supposed to telescope) where many reviews said it either did not fit their sprayer, leaked or the most common complaint was that it kinked easily (apparently made of beer can gauge aluminum). This was easy, quick and it works.

Smart idea, thanks for sharing, I just subscribed! Have you tried any of those battery powered sprayers (or a backpack sprayer)... I’m tempted to get one but I’ve never had a sprayer last more than a couple seasons so hate to pay $50+ if they aren’t any better! Thanks
@RonaldWalters20104 жыл бұрын
Have not tried a battery powered one. Sounds like something else to leak or go wrong and since all of it is made in China, probably won't last any longer either.

Apparently not... and the actual size of the original was probably some metric dimension stuff.

I'm trying to invent a similar thing but instead to water overhead into hanging baskets. However, I can't do anything permanent with hose clamps and electrical tape. Anyone have any ideas to make an easily removable extension, to quickly switch back to a shorter wand?
@tsuchang18 жыл бұрын
Good idea.
@davidmeece43817 жыл бұрын
How did you cut the wand?
@RonaldWalters20107 жыл бұрын
With a fine tooth saw. You could use a hacksaw. It is just a piece of hard plastic tube (at least mine was). If yours is metal tubing, you could use a small tubing cutter or a hacksaw and file the edges smooth and clean out the center.
@taylorrc298 жыл бұрын
if you use flush cut cutters on the zipties they wont cut you its great

I seriously screwed up my back bending over delivering 2 gallons at a time over 3 or 4 days.... all these manufacturers should sell extensions.... or sell them with extensions....
