Thanks for watching! I just used a few patterns from my previous video hope the examples weren't too repetitive i was trying to focus on how crazy it can get with musical results! Admittedly it gets really chaotic by the end, was trying to take it as far as I could from the original source for those interested! MAKE SURE if you are lost to WATCH FROM THE START! These are built up from previous episodes so if you're lost START HERE! >> kzbin.info/www/bejne/gYeYmYqdmMahrqssi=jyslupAys6cy2N0B --- NONE of this could be possible without the AMAZING DEVELOPERS PLEASE consider to join their patreon! www.patreon.com/Synthstrom

Want to mention episode 3 of this is more subtle and musical. Hopefully it is clear that I was trying to mangle the audio as far as possible

The Deluge going open source reminds me of what I said at the advent of smart phones. I told my friend back then that I didn’t need apps and that I just needed a phone to make calls and text people. I could not have been more wrong, lol. I swore the Deluge had everything I needed, but all these additions are proving me wrong once again.

First time I've seen the deluge doing this, impressive if not utterly confusing (not an exterior problem, is all on me), learning curve appears steep but rewarding. Great work.

Watching this got me thinking. I just set this up the same way with my Minilogue XD, it has to be stereo. But not on one synth L/R, I set up 2 synths one for L, one for R and panned accordingly. Now you've got stereo filter effects if you automate each one the same but offset the cycle. Cool as fuck. Possibilities are endless with this...

Hey Ron, I love your videos. It's really incredible what you're doing with the deluge. I do have one question. I am curious as to why you chose to set the polyend input as an oscillator instead of an audio clip input. I rarely use the oscillator input on my deluge. Does all of this automation not work on audio clips?
@RonCavagnaro
@RonCavagnaro Жыл бұрын
Automation is not for clips yet and because this is real time audio input. Audio clips can have monitoring etc but no automation yet for it.
@elijahjackson8636
@elijahjackson8636 Жыл бұрын
@@RonCavagnaro Gotcha, thanks! Going through the video, I was thinking that this automation view change didn't really change much since you could already record automation. But being able to zoom in and manually insert automation details is a deep deep feature to add to the deluge. So excited to see what can be done with this and what is to come. One thing I'd really like to see is being able to map midi controller inputs -> deluge midi track -> cc changes on external synth

I think by watching the video I have answered my question, but to be clear, does each automation lane have its own sequence that can be extended or shortened? I can imagine some awesome, evolving sequences with a 7 step automation over a 5 step automation of another parameter over a 16 step clip. 🤯
@RonCavagnaro
@RonCavagnaro Жыл бұрын
Yes actually if you extend in clip or automation view it will match the loop length of the track. So all automation lanes follow this. However there is the trick of offsetting if you extend row length on note view. The automation lanes follow the full length but notes can offset this way . I was going to make a video showing the comprehensive details like this in a later video.
@postsolarpunk
@postsolarpunk Жыл бұрын
Automation lanes do not have individual length currently, all automation is tied to the clip length, however we can adjust individual row lengths to offset notes like Ron described, but the clip length (the length you set with [shift] + [ turn] ) is the length of the automations. However in a kit, the automation length of a kit row is the length of the row. Then the automation length of the affect entire kit is the length of the clip (the length you set with [shift] + [ turn] ) so you can have each row length be independent of the clip length.

hell yeah with a TRS splitter you can have OSC1 and OSC2 listen to L and R and automate the FX of both, use the ARP to sequence the pitch shift, or use chords to make pitch shifted copies of the input, and turn up synth voices and detune them to really overload your CPU hahaha
@Dekalboy

CAN you apply this to an audio track ? Let say you are using the deluge as a looper , you record a loop and then you want to apply this kind of automation . Can you do this on the fly ?

Would love a feature where you could run the stereo mix of the deluge through a track before sending to the main outs. Something like a "master fx track" that would allow all of this great glitchy stuff without the need for a separate device providing the main stereo mix

can you automate ALL tracks simultaneously? an overall automation-- like if you want to do a 'tape stop' effect on the entire song in arranger?
@adamoliver82
@adamoliver82 Жыл бұрын
I'm pretty sure it's clip level only. It's per instrument in a kit. Maybe resample the part you want to effect and do it that way.

Hello Ron, how can i edit automation that i recorded in arranger mode ? I cannot find the key combination. Thanks.
@RonCavagnaro
@RonCavagnaro 10 ай бұрын
It should be the same as recording it elsewhere, I'm not in studio but automation would be the same as recording to a clip.

I've had really cool results with cc's, it's so easy to automate them. I'd always hoped for midi lfo's like in the octatrack but what's implemented on here is more than I could have wanted. You could do all the line in FX stuff on top as long as you have the clip set up as a synth track with line input as source, won't work if you have it coming into an audio track. Sky really is the limit...
