Hey Ron lawn looks great. It’s been 10 days since I top dressed. My lawn looks nice. It’s green, new growth coming in and most of top dressing has worked itself down in the grass. Also bought a reel mower and cut the grass to 1/2 inch. Love it. It’s been mid 90’s here in Dallas. Thanks for the advice.

GREAT looking yard. Cant wait til mine starts coming in two years from now. Thanks again for the videos. Im using a brand from a family owned company called Simple Grow Solutions out of Florida. The main one Ive been using since the over seeding is the product they make that has 4.5% seaweed extract, 4.5% Humic acid, and 4.0 Fulvic acid. (I only have about 6200 sq. ft. of Bermuda grass to cover). I have to watch what I put down because I have a yard maintenance contract with a company that applies all natural fertilizer several times a year. I use them 99% for weed control to be honest. Anyway thanks again for the informative video. Stay safe up there.

Heya Moon. The products you're using sound like they're pretty good quality. I like the idea of seaweed extract coupled with the other acids. Should do a lot for feeding the lawn with the right stuff. 6200 sq. ft. is a good sized lawn man. That's not small by any stretch. It's not so big to where it becomes a big time sink. @@jwfos22 not really Joey. The Turfgrass Pro product is more of a micronutrient containing iron, boron, and some magnesium. It doesn't contain the kelp extract or humic acids that Carbon Pro L does. Pretty much all the stuff that makes Carbon Pro so expensive. Having said that, it still looks like a great product that should produce solid results on your lawn. Ron, You put down Arden 15 around a month ago. Since then, you put down Milo, Top dressing, Two types of PGR's, and the Lesco treatment. First, how would the PGR affect the post germination of Arden 15? Arden 15 has a tendency to turn purple, stagnant growth, than grow again. When you top dressed, wouldn't that have buried that new Arden 15 growth? For instance, raking, walking on it and covering the new germination? Second, how would you know which products are working well? Within a couple weeks you put down so many things, how would you know which product is working? Just trying to learn. Thanks
@RonHenry
@RonHenry 4 жыл бұрын
Hi Ari. I only top dressed 2 portions of my lawn. A portion of the front and 2 areas in the back. If you look at the color between the top dressed and non top dressed areas, it's pretty consistent. I applied the Arden 15 in April so there was more than a month between its application and the PGR apps. Kind of like when I did Princess 77 years ago, the first year isn't typically when the lawn looks best. Towards the end of the season when the Arden 15 has had a chance to spread more is when I'll really be able to show you how well it's spread out. Top dressing is something I do to fix uneven spots of the lawn as well as introduce fresh organic material. As far as knowing which products are working and which aren't, I can only draw on my experiences in previous years. Much of what I'm showing this year (short of the carbon treatment), I've done in the past. I just didn't film and publish it. The year, the lawn is staying greener between mowings and with me not really watering it. Is it the Carbon Pro L? Impossible to say for certain, but it's definitely not making things any worse As far as walking, raking, mowing etc the lawn hurting germination, I don't really have any evidence to support that. It probably does slow the grass growing in vs. staying off the turf completely for a few months but getting the entire lawn covered in Arden 15 as soon as possible isn't my only goal. It'll grow in given enough time. 😎 Hope this helps. 👍
@arihoang7716
@arihoang7716 4 жыл бұрын
@@RonHenry Thank you very much for the response. I have been leveling my lawn like a madman. haha. I put down Arden 15 on May 29th and have been babying it. I have been itching to put down PGR like you did but will wait another month or so before I put it down. Cheers!!
@RonHenry
@RonHenry 4 жыл бұрын
@@arihoang7716 that's awesome man. Glad that you leveled your lawn are giving it that extra love to ensure a great result. Throwing down Arden 15 at the end of May was a good call. Assuming your soil temps are above 65 degrees, you should be in great shape. You can always apply PGR later once the new seeds grow in more. There's no rush. :-) A golf course lawn is really more of a journey than a destination. There's always something to improve or some challenge to solve. Let me know if I can help with anything. 😎👍

Heya _Maze_ will try to do less talking head footage. The reason why you don't see footage of me watering, is because I don't water. Outside of the areas that were top dressed, I haven't run my irrigation for quite a while. The only water the lawn has been getting in any volume has been from rain. Maybe I'll try the CarbonPro-G next go around. I Just put on a layer of Humichar which is a similar product(50%micronized biochar and 50% humic acids), but I also have been spraying some liquid humic acid so I'm not sure I'll need the humates with my current schedule. The Carbon-Pro looks to be about a 50-50 mix of biochar and compost with some humic acids and it also appears to be innoculated. Is there an online location for these Lesco products or is siteone the only distributor? The L also seems like a good product as well, but I think if you're really trying to increase the carbon in the soil a good amount of a granular (or compost) is needed. I'm most interested in the micronized biochar aspect of their product.

But, when It's time to "re-up" these guys are on my list for sure as these products look like they have a slight edge on what I'm using now. I think for anyone else out there if you can't get your hands on this stuff it's well worth finding a liquid humic acid + kelp product. It does wonders for stimulating growth and unlocking those micro-nutrients. Even without the extra kick of Iron I bet most would notice a major green up result. It also seems to help the grass soak up some extra N as well.

@RonHenry
@RonHenry 4 жыл бұрын
Depends on who you ask perpetual student. Bermuda needs somewhere between 4 - 5lbs of nitrogen per 1000 square feet per year. Figure that 4 of the 5lbs goes down during the growing season between March - Octoberish. I put down fertilizer monthly during the growing season. Although you didn't list nitrogen, I'm a big fan of Scott's starter fertilizer because it contains Phosphorus which is often challenging to find in fertilizers these days. amzn.to/3fynl7o For the micros, you can use Brandt Supreme Green or an alternative like this: amzn.to/2WRaPrI Those 2 products coupled with the Carbon Pro should do a lot towards amending the issues you pointed out. This is the process we followed for Alex's lawn. If you're interested in seeing the process you can see it here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/mZfZaqKDpc-Ep8k Let me know if I can help with anything else. 😎👍

A consistent source of cytokinins and auxins, Cytogro stimulates root growth; encourages tiller, rhizome and stolon production; increases vigor; and improves stress tolerance for fine turf

@@tlwusf but I like sharing my Carbon Pro with everyone though. 😂 I mean who else is going to apply stuff to my neighbor's lawns? Besides, my investing doesn't require much of my time. Outside of an hour or so per month, it takes care of itself. Appreciate the recommendation.

Does PGR promote root growth since it slows topgrowth?
@RonHenry
@RonHenry 4 жыл бұрын
Lateral growth typically does very well when regular mowing is coupled with PGR Ned. The grass still needs to catch sunlight so if you're cutting it off every few days, it has to adapt to still get the sunlight. Bermuda is naturally a creeping style grass so it loves PGR and lower/correct mowing. Hope this helps. 👍

Ron bought a bag of the ProG, it was hard to spread so i just purch a gal of the ProL. If i applied half the initial rate of the carbon pro g granular(5 lbs/1000 instead of 10) can i apply a maintanence rate(1oz/1000) of the liquid 2 weeks laterm

Yes you can Ned. Even though Carbon Pro-L and Carbon Pro-G are both soil amendments they go about it fairly differently. The G is primarily compost and biochar where the L has the kelp, iron, humates and a few other micronutrients. They both improve the soil in different ways. You can do both without adverse results. I have some videos incoming soon. 😎

Just sprayed my first 2000 ft. You were right about the smell. Lol Gonna get rain tomorrow, should i just wait for rain or water in at all?
@RonHenry

Smells like the ocean right? 😎 I would wait for the rain tomorrow. There's no need to water in right after application. I'd also not mow for 2 days after application. Figure Thursday or Friday. Great stuff. 👍😎

How much nitro are u getting out of the carbon X?
@RonHenry
@RonHenry 4 жыл бұрын
Hi Mr Green Thumb. I’m not applying Carbon X. The product I’m applying is CarbonPro L. It doesn’t contain any nitrogen. It’s purely carbon, iron, humates and a few other micronutrients. I get my nitrogen from my fertilizer.
