Nicely done Ron. In my past dealings with Rhizoctonia (in Florida), multiple applications were usually required as the fungus is soil-borne. It typically showed up (in the same areas) time after time. Sclerotinia severity can also be lessened by applying Nitrogen. Go figure. Excess Nitrogen is detrimental for Brown Patch but beneficial for dollar spot.

Hi Ru Skates. I’ve not heard of PGR promoting fungus issues. Most lawn fungus problems come from overwatering, over/under fertilization, hot/humid weather and lower mowing heights. Can you send me pictures of what you’re dealing with? ron@golfcourselawn.com If you applied PGR at the correct rates you will see mild yellowing a few days after. The dollar spots went away after a couple days but are now back almost 2 weeks later. I am also noticing red thread in a few locations. Did my grass grow a tolerance to Disease Ex? Not sure what to do now.

Heya Darren. I normally only see the dollar spot webs early in the morning. They're gone by 10AM or so. Disease Ex is Azoxystrobin which doesn't target dollar spot. You need propiconazole for that. How much nitrogen have you been using in this cool wet weather? Large patch in Bermuda thats really weird. I remember working on a research project once where we noticed cool season type diseases in warm season turf. It was really strange...well conditions were perfect for it. Spring temps were cool, it was wet and turf was super short and over fed. Tested different fungicide combinations many of which are not for residential use and they worked really well. What we also found was that limiting the care of Bermuda in cool spring weather to only mowing and natural watering from rainfall greatly minimized the occurrence of cool season type disease.
@RonHenry3 жыл бұрын
Heya SMK. Early April was the first full rate application. of the granular. Just under 1/2" lb of nitrogen. The biggest change between last year and this year is lower mowing height. Last year at this time I was closer to .75 vs. just under 1/2" now. The Headway G application has cleared things up though.
