A PSA for those with Flowzone Cyclone sprayers: make sure the last two numbers are 06, not 04 as listed in the video. Those two numbers refer to the size of the orifice and 04 is too small and will burn out your pump. I recently got a new pump from Flowzone, under warranty, and one of the questions they asked was what tip I was using. I told them the XR11004VS and they said the tip was too small. You want an XR11006. I can't speak for what other sprayers need, but I appreciated Flowzone's understanding and told them I'd do my best to spread the word- so here I am spreading it.

Don't forget that the Teejet nozzles come in different colors for different flow rates. I find that the *red* nozzles put out almost 2 gal per 1000sqft at my comfortable walk pace, instead of increasing my pace considerably, I switched to a yellow nozzle with the same spray pattern which gives about half the flow rate and comes out much closer to 1 gal per 1000sqft.
@RonHenry
@RonHenry 3 жыл бұрын
It just depends on your walking pace and the pressure of your sprayer. The red TeeJet nozzles at 70 psi, put out fluid at much lower rates than the nozzles the sprayer comes with. Great feedback sir. Appreciate you chiming in.
@mrcaffein
@mrcaffein 3 жыл бұрын
If you have a manual pump up sprayer, a constant flow valve is a great investment as well for about 20$. It keeps the pressure regulated so you're always spraying at the same pressure, thus making your application more consistent. It will shut off once the pressure drops below the valve psi rating. Electric sprayers typically spray at a constant pressure so this is more useful for pump up sprayers.

I have been waiting for someone to do a more advanced nozzle option video for the community. I'm not going to sugar coat this, I cringe when I watch people use the tips that come with the back pack sprayers. The tips that come with then are simply pressure washer tips. Is it possible to upgrade the standard wands to accept the quick connect type nozzles? The constant screwing and unscrewing of the nozzle tips gets annoying pretty quick. Can you put out a video showing how?
@RonHenry
@RonHenry Жыл бұрын
Looking at the wand on my Chapin, I don't believe this would be easy to do. If you're going to try this, it would be easiest to swap the entire trigger and wand. I'm not sure where you'd even get one. Likely easier to just buy a sprayer that already has the quick connect system.
@Mike--K
@Mike--K Жыл бұрын
@@RonHenry Great video, Ron! Like others wrote, you present the facts without any fluff. I upgraded my Solo Comfort 475 manual backpack sprayer so I could use the TeeJet tips, specifically with the quick connect cap, and get rid of the bendy plastic wand. As you suggested, using the quick connect cap requires a new setup, but I am glad I did this. The plastic wand that came with the sprayer is now in the recycling bin, and I can easily change the TeeJet tips as required for the product I'm spraying. TeeJet offers many versions of the quick connect caps, but I recommend the 114445A series because these have a round hole for the tip. The other versions have shaped holes for the tips that lock them into place and they cannot be rotated to adjust the spray pattern.

I receive my flowzone cyclone in a couple of days and ordered the AIXR11004VP for my preemergents based on your recommendation. Do I use that nozzle for postemergents as well, such as MSMA? Sorry. Unless you’re spraying commercial properties, you shouldn’t be using MSMA. It’s no longer labeled for use on residential lawns. You will need a quick connect adapter unless flowzone is now including them. When I got mine years ago, it wasn’t included.

No I don't. 90% of the time I run on the lower pressure setting. The only time I switch to high is if I'm spraying fungicide since the label calls for 2 gallons per 1000 square feet vs 1 gallon per square feet for most other products.

Ron, I just checked the two Tee Jet red nozzle tips that came with my new Yard Mastery sprayer. The numbers on them are both 110 04 VP. The nozzle hole on one is slightly more oval and the notch on the side squared off, while the other nozzle hole is thinner and wider, and the side notch is V-shaped. Any idea which nozzle makes the droplets bigger or finer? Thanks

The nozzle with the ports on the side is an air induction tip. When run at lower pressures is draws air in which helps promote larger droplets
