A PSA for those with Flowzone Cyclone sprayers: make sure the last two numbers are 06, not 04 as listed in the video. Those two numbers refer to the size of the orifice and 04 is too small and will burn out your pump. I recently got a new pump from Flowzone, under warranty, and one of the questions they asked was what tip I was using. I told them the XR11004VS and they said the tip was too small. You want an XR11006. I can't speak for what other sprayers need, but I appreciated Flowzone's understanding and told them I'd do my best to spread the word- so here I am spreading it.
@vio06332 ай бұрын
What pressure setting did you run the 04 on? Will it work ok with a cyclone on the low psi setting?
@jeffbarno72392 ай бұрын
This is unfortunate. These two that Ron recommends are commonly used by enthusiasts. Perhaps Flowzone needs to improve the design of the pump?
@RonHenry2 ай бұрын
@jeffbarno7239 if what the previous poster is saying is correct, then I’d agree. I’ve run these nozzles in other sprayers for years without issue.
@fastgrizzly2 ай бұрын
@@vio0633 i've always run my cyclone on setting 3. i don't know enough about the pump to be able to say whether or not that affects it, but it certainly could be a contributing factor. i looked after having spoken to the rep at FZ to see if I could find any documentation where they stated to use an "06" but didn't come across anything. like i said, I just wanted to pass on the word because it was easy enough and could save some headaches for users and costs for a company that handled my issue well. having switched to the 06 and spraying a few times since, it looks/feels the exact same to me but i haven't run into any pump issues.

Don't forget that the Teejet nozzles come in different colors for different flow rates. I find that the *red* nozzles put out almost 2 gal per 1000sqft at my comfortable walk pace, instead of increasing my pace considerably, I switched to a yellow nozzle with the same spray pattern which gives about half the flow rate and comes out much closer to 1 gal per 1000sqft.
@RonHenry3 жыл бұрын
It just depends on your walking pace and the pressure of your sprayer. The red TeeJet nozzles at 70 psi, put out fluid at much lower rates than the nozzles the sprayer comes with. Great feedback sir. Appreciate you chiming in.
@mrcaffein3 жыл бұрын
If you have a manual pump up sprayer, a constant flow valve is a great investment as well for about 20$. It keeps the pressure regulated so you're always spraying at the same pressure, thus making your application more consistent. It will shut off once the pressure drops below the valve psi rating. Electric sprayers typically spray at a constant pressure so this is more useful for pump up sprayers.

Is it possible to upgrade the standard wands to accept the quick connect type nozzles? The constant screwing and unscrewing of the nozzle tips gets annoying pretty quick. Can you put out a video showing how?
@RonHenry Жыл бұрын
Looking at the wand on my Chapin, I don't believe this would be easy to do. If you're going to try this, it would be easiest to swap the entire trigger and wand. I'm not sure where you'd even get one. Likely easier to just buy a sprayer that already has the quick connect system.
@Mike--K Жыл бұрын
@@RonHenry Great video, Ron! Like others wrote, you present the facts without any fluff. I upgraded my Solo Comfort 475 manual backpack sprayer so I could use the TeeJet tips, specifically with the quick connect cap, and get rid of the bendy plastic wand. As you suggested, using the quick connect cap requires a new setup, but I am glad I did this. The plastic wand that came with the sprayer is now in the recycling bin, and I can easily change the TeeJet tips as required for the product I'm spraying. TeeJet offers many versions of the quick connect caps, but I recommend the 114445A series because these have a round hole for the tip. The other versions have shaped holes for the tips that lock them into place and they cannot be rotated to adjust the spray pattern.

These videos are great! Any advice or content with mesh check valves to go along with the TeeJet nozzles? Just ordered some XR Nozzles and got the 50 mesh 5psi check valve ($4). Idea is to hopefully prevent excess dripping after releasing the handle when applying professional grade herbicide such as Certainty and Celsius.
@RonHenry2 жыл бұрын
Hi Trey. I’ve not used the check valves before. I don’t notice issues with product dripping from the nozzle when I stop spraying. I can see a check valve could be useful though.

Ron, do the tips you referenced in the video work for the Flow Zone model as well? Mine are quick release and they don’t seem to come apart.

Yes they do Mark. Check the video description for an adapter for Flowzone that’ll allow you to use the TeeJet nozzles. Great question.

How does the TeeJet AI11004-VS 110 Degree Air Induction Flat Spray Tip - Red compare?
@RonHenry3 жыл бұрын
Air induction tips have produce larger droplet sizes than the non AI tips Trstan. On a windy days, you could go with an AI tip to reduce drift.

Hi Ron, do you vary your pressure on the backpack sprayer? I’m just getting into spraying so I want to make sure my calibration is correct. Thanks (also Ron)
@RonHenry Жыл бұрын
No I don't. 90% of the time I run on the lower pressure setting. The only time I switch to high is if I'm spraying fungicide since the label calls for 2 gallons per 1000 square feet vs 1 gallon per square feet for most other products.

Hey Ron! My tee jet just came in the mail but I think it’s missing an attachment. I only received the tee jet but not the connector that attaches to my wand. Where can I get the attachment that attaches to the tee jet?
Ron, I just checked the two Tee Jet red nozzle tips that came with my new Yard Mastery sprayer. The numbers on them are both 110 04 VP. The nozzle hole on one is slightly more oval and the notch on the side squared off, while the other nozzle hole is thinner and wider, and the side notch is V-shaped. Any idea which nozzle makes the droplets bigger or finer? Thanks
@RonHenry3 жыл бұрын
The nozzle with the ports on the side is an air induction tip. When run at lower pressures is draws air in which helps promote larger droplets
@felipelabomba8483 жыл бұрын
@@RonHenry Thanks Ron. Is that the V-shaped slot on the side?

They're pretty much sold out everywhere Eric. If you're in the market for a great sprayer, I'd go with this one: ron-henry.com/backpacksprayer It's basically a Flowzone but comes with TeeJet tips already included. I have a review coming out for it soon.

I have done a little research and noticed that there is a "vp" version of XR11004. Is there any difference between the two tips other than the "vp" version being plastic and the "vs" version being stainless steel?

I believe that's the only differences K McClanahan. Plastic vs. Steel. I opted for steel since it should last longer than the plastic version. Great comment.

I have been waiting for someone to do a more advanced nozzle option video for the community. I'm not going to sugar coat this, I cringe when I watch people use the tips that come with the back pack sprayers. The tips that come with then are simply pressure washer tips. I would have liked to see you take it a step further and explain how pressure can also affect the droplet size. Anyway, a great video to get people applying products properly.

Thanks for the feedback Dan. I considered going into calibration and pressures but a lot of that is covered in the video at the end of this one. Didn't want to make the video overly long. Appreciate you watching.

Hoping you can help with my Teejets! Is an O ring required to be used? You use one, but my Flowzone Cyclone 2.5 didn’t have any with their nozzles and the Teejet I ordered didn’t come with one. Do the Teejet caps come with O rings?
@RonHenry2 жыл бұрын
Not necessarily Ben. The o-ring does help with sealing but if your cap is in good shape you shouldn't experience leaking issues. Your existing nozzle might have an o-ring that can be reused. Hope this helps. Appreciate you watching.

Hey Ron. Great video as always. QQ. I am trying to get one last boost of green without adding any nitrogen to the lawn (since we are almost at the end of the growing season). Is Ironite OK?
