Ronin Castorino is the most interesting young surfer emerging from Goleta California, aka the good land. A wave catching machine with a never ending supply of energy and absolute passion for riding waves and the ocean. He is has been a competitive stand out at the local and regional levels winning conference titles and placing in the top 3 in the state for the last three years.
He took a last minute buzzer beater win at the 2022 Channel Islands Surfboards Rincon Classic in the U12 division scoring a 9.67 as the clock counted down to zero. He is the first surfer to win a youth division at the Rincon Classic in over ten years and holds the torch for his home town high.
All youth division champions at the annual Rincon Classic are honored with a profile show at the Santa Barbara Surf Film Festival annually and this piece was a highlight of the youth programming at the 2022 festival. Edit by Ian Grose
