Despite my respect for Orthodox Judaism, I simply cannot imagine being raised in such an environment. My Father taught me to think for myself, ask questions, & never venerate anyone just because they are at a lectern, or a pulpit. To live as Esti had to---------I just cannot imagine it. -----------This film is an absolute Masterpiece, & ought to have been nominated for multiple awards & Oscars. Why it was not is a mystery to me. And, I'm a 75 y/o hetero-dude.

Wonderful movie about freedom, forbbiden love, religion, to love .. .The Rachael's was perfect together! I loved the sex scene full of passion, desire , love.. very intense and full of passion very real...The best movie !!Rachael Weisz superb.

Yes Marie, this is so unfair to Brits ! I saw the avant première at Paris in June 5 .... The dvd is even available now... but nothing's like a big screen and the all audience holding breath during the love scene
