I'm not certain it's even possible to adequately describe the grace, originality, virtuosity and sheer delight created each time maestro McFarlane takes up his lute and begins to play...happy the ears on which his music falls (((-:

I just saw McFarlane in concert. He actually had a 24-string lute that he played for some of his pieces. He did this piece, along with some others of his own and some traditional and classical pieces. Really cool.

Not to compare, but just as a listener, somehow this reminds me of Estas Tonne's "Song of the Golden Dragon" at the end. The technique in both the pieces are out of the world.

As a guitar (and other strings) player, I can tell you that for me at least playing the guitar HURTS the ability to play Guitar Hero. On that game, all you're really doing is tapping out rhythm,and even that is sort of off the beat. The times I've tried to play it, I've treated it like a real guitar with awful results, even on songs I know really well. I'll pass.

+Themostamazinguy You can count at the close-ups; looks like 10 courses, with the highest and two lowest single-stringed.

Recount it. It's 11
@TLMuse8 жыл бұрын
+Themostamazinguy You're right! Looking at 0:45, I thought what must be the lowest string was the edge of the fingerboard binding; instead it's a string beyond the edge of the fretboard. Thanks for the catch.
