Watch the full clip elsewhere. The first time he says it he laments that it took the audience too long to get it. It is cut in this clip, but if you look for the one where Ronnie says he took a class to get taller, you’ll see the whole “shouting up” thing.

I knew it was a lie when he said Addiscombe Road as there are no shops on that road. Now, if he said Lower Addiscombe Road, well, that's another story, plenty of shops there! There are lots of candles to be had there. What's more, you can probably get fork handles as well. That would have been more of a conundrum.

It's still true of shops that use a catalogue, either inn print or online, to advertise their wares. I ran into this last year when I was visiting Edinburgh and needed to buy a charging cable.
