Wow! I would have loved to have been there that day. Ronnie's playing was great, and the beautiful outdoor setting in Sausalito is gorgeous too. Makes me miss my Bay Area ever more so. Especially now, being in flat, boring Nebraska. Ugh !!! Rest in Peace Ronnie and thanks for the inspiration over the years.

I was a HUGE GAMMA fan! Back in 1998 I was listening to “Condition Yellow” from Gamma 3. I was online on Ronnie’s website. A link said “email Ronnie” so I did. I asked about his tone on that song and told him I remembered watching him on the Midnight Special playing “Town without pity”. Within a couple of minutes he replied to my email saying “Midnight Special? Wow you just took me back”. Then he proceeded to tell me about how he got the tone for “condition yellow”. I am still impacted by his playing and that he took time to reply. RIP sir.

I moved to San Rafael in '01, how did I miss this show??? hahaha probably fucked up at the time...Ronnie Montrose was the best American hard rock guitarist since Hendrix!! Massive power chords, endless tasty fills, rad fucken leads, such melodic early metal...we wore those first two albums out when I was in college!!

Evidently, as far as I can tell, Ronnie was treated for cancer, and it came back. So he took his own life to avoid the pain and agony., blew his brains out on the phone with his lady Can't blame him for his decision, as I'd to the same, but he was one BAD ASS guitar player, and he also inspired me . . .

unfortunately, right at the end, ronnie seemed to be 'going thru' singers like a hot knife thru butter. i know this can't be Keith St. John, but whoever it is, he sounds like he has strep throat or something. or...... he's simply sucking, bad. this is NOT good. i personally know Steve there on Drums and Dan McNay on bass. old sacramento buddies of mine. great players, alongside Ronnie. but wow.....what unfortunate event took place, that they got stuck with this weak vocalist?
