This is what it looks like when you've come full circle. You start life as a musician, working hard to make money doing something you love, then you eventually end up with the money, and go back to focusing on the thing you actually love, making music and having fun doing it. These guys have all had the lime-light at some point, and they all still do, but they are at a stage in life where this magic moment in time to just take what they want, and sing it, tribute songs, cover songs, new songs, is finally fun again, and they don't have to care if it's a number 1 hit, or if it makes them a ton of money so they can pull off the next project or tour, etc. Music that is this much fun, thank God for that! I love it! Keep on rockin' you guys, always!

Astonishing in how bad and predictable it is. The guttiarist simply can not play the song with anything like the feel of Blackmore, yeah he attempts to churn out the notes at teh speed but misses everything else. The vocals are well just shit, keyboards, are there any in this? Drums bang bang bang in the back, nothing like Ian paice, this is crap and they know it.

+AJ Reynolds I read the same thing as well as after his 1st leg he sent some tapes to Sam as well, so here's crossing my fingers and toes. Although Ed put out a cryptic message recently about playing a Steinberger guitar he hasn't played since the Sammy Days and people asking for that guitar back. Be prepared for something somewhere with these guys, no that the contract with DLR is ended.
@timgeary19089 жыл бұрын
+AJ Reynolds Anyone who read Sammy's autobiography knows there is no way in Hell that he will ever play with Eddie again. Especially after the way the VH brothers treated Mike. If you want VH, you are stuck with DLR.
@timgeary19089 жыл бұрын
+Ozzy Maldonado Sheehan is one of the greatest instrumentalists ever born and Vai is a fantastic guitar player. I would pay money to see either or both. DLR, on the other hand, is past the point of seeing. While never a great vocalist, in his prime, he was a fantastic front man. But without the athleticism and without the lion mane of hair, he is nothing.
@tgear779 жыл бұрын
+Tom Cass I used to see Talas in and around Buffalo, NY when I was in my early 20s. I don't think it was Sheehan that was limited but the band itself. As for your last statement, I feel that he is the bass equivalent of Eddie Van Halen. All the tricks in the world, but not the most melodic of players.
@tgear779 жыл бұрын
+Tom Cass Same here. Used to play in bands throughout my teens and twenties. James Jamerson rules! I always liked Squire's sounds and deep runs even though I am not that big into progressive. Jaco was great especially in Weather Report. Another all time favorite is Pino Palladino who can play with anyone. Stanley Clarke, with that awesome fingerspread of his, is so melodic. I could listen to him all day.

I watched this 20 times when it came out and now it's the end of July 2020 and I just watched it 20 more times. This just a few things how great Deep Purple was as a band, the recreation Chickenfoot does, with the harmony screaming of Sammy and Michael the drumming and of course the virtuoso playings of Joe Satriani. What a great band I hope they tour again after this F**D UP Pandemic is over with! Chickenfoot forever!

Every time I watch this clip, I believe Sammy Hagar is a vocalist who is now in his 70's, can keep up with any of these singers who are decades younger. He is truly a living legend. And the rest of the band, the amount of talent they show is amazing. With Joe Satriani, who needs EVH? Van Halen needed Sammy more than he needed them.

10-2022. I'm back and having listened to Deep purple's version AGAIN...., I STILL HAVE TO SAY this version ROCKS!. Satriani's extemporainious Guitar and Organ solos are innventive and delightful, Sammy Hagar has a great energetic vocal range that really shines on this song and of course, there is that chicken masks he wears at the end of the song that kicks it even further. True Highway stars!

Well a singer can keep a good voice their entire life if they take care of it. They usually ruin it by screaming and smoking. If a singer does not do these things, they can keep their voice sounding good until their last day usually. If they learn how to powersing, like the opera guys, etc, which is not screaming.
