i have found out that putting the putty over the shrink tube is not very good it is better to tie your hooklink to it with a little hoop and put the putty over the hoop knot it is 10x better trust me :D also instead of shrink tube use a cut down anti tangle sleeve so if the hook needs changing you dont have to cut off the shrink tube you can just slide the sleeve up change hook slide back on .

Also allows you to change the hook quickly if you want to use a smaller/bigger hook or a different pattern. With the shrink tube you have to resteam it which can be annoying on the bank. Great tip!

Everyone complaining about the overall cost of the rig, it's nothing out of the ordinary, just simple end tackle that most carp fisherman will already have in their box. If you're more the type to get the rods out here and there, just stick to a simple bottom bait rig on instead. Carp fishing isn't known for being a cheap hobby!

Wow. Cool, but I prefer rigging on the less expensive and just as good method. * get your selected hook * tie unscented *dental* *floss* around the hook crook in a simple, slightly loose, double overhand knot * pull that through your pop up bait with a needle (a long sewing needle works hold putting the *eye* through *1st*, & pulling the floss back through. * take very thin solder wire for small electronics (0.028" or 0.030" dia.) to wrap a few wraps around the hook shank to weigh down, if needed. * tie on a short leader to a small drop shot, or directly inline with a small split shot on a wire. * fish. That works just as good and saves many steps and $$.

The QC ring swivel, personally I prefer a smaller size 11 rather than an 8 and I’d do away with the second QC swivel on the hook link. Just tie the QC swivel that is attached to the hook straight onto an nicely rounded loop at the end of your hook link.

If you mold the putty round the swivle then pull the shrink tube. Then shrink it down it makes and that makes it impossible for the putty to come off on the cast or falling off in cold water 🎣🎣👍😉

its a good rig,ive tried it and it works with cc moore pop ups. but this does not work with mainline pop ups 14mm unless you strip off all the putty and scale down to a size 8 and even then its dodgy,but a good rig with cc moore pop ups. make sure to test in yr own fishtank before putting them out in the lake with any other pop up than cc moore

Hi Brian, it's been a while since I've asked any questions. I've been off the carp forums for a little bit. I wasn't sure where I could contact you at. I was wondering what tactics you use primarily to prevent carp from hitting your line? 1. Do you use a sinking mono mainline2. a braid mainline3. Or a backlead or tungsten tubing? As always, thankyou for all you do! Ray

Put your putty on the swivel under the shrink tube and don't pinch your quick change with pliers you will just weaken it. Don't use a cut down silicone sleeve on the quick change swivel use putty and shrink tube again it's much neater and the nuisance fish/crayfish won't remove the putty when they fuck around with your bait. These days we use the Nash PinPoint Fang Gyro Hooks.

I just posted on another video about this but I will copy and paste my answer and why. I personally never use bait screws unless they are plastic. Two reasons, the first is the added weight requires a larger boilie than I may want to use. The 2nd is if the rig breaks off I always fear the screw coming off and causing damage internally to the fish. Thanks for watching!

It will not look on the bottom like you presented. 12mm pop-up is not enough to lift hook of the bottom, you need to use cork in that pop-up to achieve good buoyancy enough to lift hook. This way will be more like balanced bait.

Srdjan you are probably right , different hooks may weigh different also the popups thats why it good to check the rig in the water before using it . i made one today using plastic corn with foam and checked it ,i liked the way it looked and used it . didnt get a carp but a catfish hahahah

holy s*$t...how much did it cost to tie this rig with all the hardware involved? looks to be upwards of $50 by my estimate. sure you may be able to prepare 5 rigs but that is $10 per. find a cheaper version and I'll think about it.

In england, 10 hooks = $5, 10 swivels $4, 10 ring swivels $4, 10 feet of bait floss $5, shrink tube $4, 10 metres of hook link $6 The hook line, bait floss and shrink tube will last ages.

James, You can choose whichever rig you enjoy. I use a lot of various rigs and each one varies in price. Granted it may cost $50 for everything you get a lot of rigs made out of the materials and still have left over. If you choose to fish less expensive and less components then that is perfectly fine as well. Every rig has its own time and place. I just offer up how to tie a lot of rigs and make baits on my channel.

I love using their products. No matter which video you watch you are going to see a product in it. When I make my videos I try to show every single piece I use so the person watching does not have to guess any steps of the process. At the end of the day the rig interests people and they want to try it. Whether it be a hair rig or this there will always be components to buy.

Behaves a lot like the bent hook rig. Double hooking and not good for fishes mouths. I wouldn't be surprised to see this banned on some waters in the not too distant future.

That is one dumb rig. People need to completely avoid carp fishing videos made in the UK. You can catch a carp with almost anything, but I guarantee a two or three to one bite ration, and at least a three to one hookup ratio, with plain old American doughball that covers the hook. I don't have a clue why people try to imitate fishermen from a country where carp are all fat, where most of them have names and get caught over and over, and where they don't even know what carp fishing is because they don't have wild carp like the ones in America. Grow up and be your own man.
@BrianWingard
@BrianWingard 3 жыл бұрын
LOL You completely miss the whole point of fishing. I am my own man first of all. I simply show people various ways to fish for carp. The angler watching can choose how they want to fish. You don't go bass fishing and use the same exact thing every time and carp is the same way. Just because it has not worked for you doesn't mean it doesnt work for the other 99%. Any fish can be caught with " anything" but when you start to specifically target particular fish such as big fish these quickly change your odds. I can go catch 30 carp in a day if I want also which some days I do. There are different ways to fish depending on what you want your outcome to be.
