Oh my God😭😭😭 the Lord literally led me to this video! There are so many details that are sooo similar to mine! 😭 this is overwhelming. The Lord showed me that our engagement would be short as well (for the purpose of ministry) and it made me a bit nervous @ first. (I was a LOT like you, Mel, as far as my focus on God and adamant about not letting a guy get in the way of my relationship with the Father. God had to prepare my heart as well). So while i had been nervous about a short engagement, but God keeps showing me testimonies like you guys' that are so encouraging & truly confirmation that He is with us😭... THANK YOU for sharing this! Mel, what is some advice on preparing a short engagement? How did you respond to ppl who might have had questions/concerns about why such a short engagement? @@MLynn33 Oh my gosh wow!! Come on Jesus. So glad He led you to our video so He could speak to you. And as long as you know without a doubt this is the Lord, you dont need to worry... but that doesn't mean that its all going to be easy. Our first year of marriage was SO hard. And we constantly needed the reminder that the Lord had spoke even though at the time we were both like, did we mess up? But the Lord was so faithful. So advice, dont expect that just cause the Lord led it that its all going to be perfect. You are both sinners in a big process and nothing exposes your junk like marriage haha, but be committed to the Lord and your vows. I didnt really have much pushback but let people speak in to your life no matter what. The Lord honors us seeking counsel and we constantly surrendered our relationship to Him. But keep praying, keep seeking the Lord together, keep letting Him guide you and He will. Super excited for you girl!! Keep in touch. We are glad to have you here with us!

I am concerned about this generation of the largest population in Western History to be single, never married and without children, from mid to late thirties into their 50's. I am sure there are multiple factors, but come on people. Do you want your child to be graduating when you are 60 and 65 years of age, IF you are still fertile enough to conceive a child. (BTW peak fertility for a female is age 24). Or do you want to be living a lifestyle of sexual immorality, "hooking up," or porn addiction, because you are at your peak of sexual vigor but do not have a spouse to enjoy sex with in covenant? Is that God's will? Maybe if you are still single at this age you need to examine yourself instead of just "waiting on God." You cannot just sit back and say, "God bring me the perfect mate." You have to prepare yourself, spiritually, physically, emotionally, financially. And you have to make your self available, use your brain to evaluate carefully the prospects, be guided by logic with a long-term orientation, not guided by lust and desperation, and go out and DO practical things to meet people. It is just like any other area of faith that we are believing God for. We must ask, SEEK and KNOCK. If you want to own a home or secure the best job of your career, you prepare for it and take logical, practical action steps. And God blesses that! Here's another hypothesis, For thousands of years parents have been helping facilitate and oversee their children finding spouses. In modern times with rampant promiscuity, divorce ridden families, and the media's promulgation of sexual immorality, the match makers are no longer a priority. I'm proposing that this is where the church leadership steps in and helps young people find their spouses, while they are STILL young. I'm not implying any control based system. Just a church leadership who can help oversee possible connections with a heart for the single young adults. The alternative is online dating sites.

After an abusive marriage, a child and a lifelong issue with epilepsy I met a gem of a man. One might say it was purely accidental, no it wasn’t. I met this man who not only had the training to help with my ptsd/emotional/mental/spiritual abuse, but he was from an area I dreamed of living in (my grandmother was from there), he was a Christian and had the biggest kindest heart. It was unbelievable how well we not only complemented each other but built each other up. He had given up, I had no intention of being hurt again. Sarah you haven't missed out on much to be honest with you. I recently accepted Jesus Christ into my life and heart (past 6 months) and before that my life was full of sin. Its nothing to be proud of and all the relationships I had before just seem meaningless now, because it didn't further my life in any positive manner, such as God has. Truly I say to you, the day Jesus brings two loving people together to share a common yolk between you, your spouse, and the Lord is the only day worth having an intimate relationship. Every other intimate relationship besides this will most likely just feel empty, at least it did for me. God bless.

As a man, I now realize how important my relationship with God is for my love life. I understand the importance of having a Christ centered life. I understand now that as the man, I must have a vision for my life as a Christ follower. My future wife will be looking for me to have vision. And most of all, I now believe again that God is faithful for my desire to have a wife. I just have to trust him. I’ll be honest, I was angry at god because my last relationship didn’t work. Ronnie and Mel Wow! something told me to come back to this KZbin video tonight. *So here’s an Update* After watching the video, I met with two young Christian men at a park and shared your testimony (shared it in my own words lol). I focused on how you both pursued, obeyed and allowed God into every aspect of your relationship (and life of course). As a male, the theme of a Christian man having a vision for his life spoke to me. So I proposed my 2 guy friends and I spend individual prayer time with a focus on repentance and removing distractions we’ve allowed to hinder the lord from moving in our lives Then we discussed the importance of why a Christian man needs to have a vision for his life and the importance of living a Christ centered life regardless of our circumstances. Afterwards, we each shared our visions or at least planted the seed to start developing a long term vision. we all left encouraged to seek God to allow him to help us develop our vision and discover God’s calling for each of us. I think we are headed in the right direction. With that said. thank you for encouraging me and helping to reinvigorate my faith through your testimony. I got lost in my hurt for a time and allowed myself to stop being used by God. I’m now getting back focused on serving the Lord and being an positive influence to the young men in my church once again. I’ll soon be helping to lead devotionals at my boxing gym as well! yes! I'm 20 right now but I am open to finding my partner until after college. Right now I need to keep growing spiritually and grow my faith in God. I also need to work on myself because I'm still immature in a lot of adult things and I'm still very shy with social anxiety. That's why I currently have no friends, not even from my church. Also, I'm not responsible enough to do many things on my own yet so it doesn't make sense that I will be able to date someone right now. I still live with my parents, I have never had a job, and I receive financial aid for college. That's why I pray to God that he will work on me and make me into a mature adult who isn't shy anymore. There are also many things I want to do while I'm single like make new friends, traveling to other countries with friends, try new things, etc. I don't need to worry about finding someone right now. My focus is only on God and the people who care about me. God will send me the right person but I know it won't be soon so I put all of that in his hands and he will take care of that.

I was tired of dating. I actually took two years off from dating before I asked God. Which when you ask expect him to exceed your expectations. Because he definitely did to mine. So i dated this guy who was not a Christian and we were together for half a year. Wasn't long at all but it still left me feeling empty. Maybe a few months later i ended up dating this guy who i liked since 7th grade and at this time i was in high school well we had always went on dates off and on and nothing was ever stable. In short, I was still broken, still tired of this giving myself and still not feeling wanted. I had a broken family that was still together and suffered with trauma. So i figured this is what love was... well it's not, I knew that god could do anything and that he had a plan. At this time I was learning to surrender. I lost all my friends and ex boyfriend. I was also home schooled and moved to a new town. So one night I came to him as I was and told him I'm done with boys. I'm tired of getting my heart broken and feeling empty. I'm naive and gullible please point out the guy I'm supposed to marry. Slap me in the face if you have to, I don't want to mess this up and I'm a good person but I seem to mess everything up. I don't need hints I need a slap in the face. So a month after on Halloween night I go to this party that a girl in the town i knew invited me. We weren't really friends but I had none. I went and i was there before my husband. Well I was really drunk and I was looking for something. But my attention was fixed on the door and then walked in 3 people the last person was my husband and god took me into slowmo i saw this golden light (gods glory) and he spoke audibly to me and said that will be your husband. He didn't tell me his name or anything. At this time I was like nope, because I thought i was too drunk and Was hallucinating. So I stopped drinking sobered up. Ended up talking to him anyway not by my account. We ened up talking from 12 to 5 am. After that weekend we ended up spending almost every day together.

This is the very first video I've seen from you guys, and let me tell you... Something about this one was so powerful that I actually had to pause the video and talk to the Lord. I felt his presence like no other day and funny thing is, our conversation had nothing to do with marriage or dating. Yet the very last sentence "You can trust the Lord, and trust Him with your life" was a huge part of the topic of my conversation with God. “Lord, you write the story” As a male at this time, its so hard to trust in relationships through financial issues and lame impediment syndromes (chronic disease, depression, etc). I’m learning that I can be loved, that I am innocent, and that I can actually have relationship. It is all written and I need to turn it all over to god to write the rest of the story. **I apologize for the grammatical and punctuation errors! I was typing fast after class before I head to bed! Whenever I accepted Jesus Christ as Lord over my life God specifically told me not to date through two prophetic words. Then several months later, my grandparents were having a bonfire for their four half-way houses to come and worship, fellowship, and eat at one of the houses. My grandmother invited me to go, but I had to work that night. I went ahead and prayed to God that if the bonfire was Him the doors would open and my boss would say that I did not need to come in because they had been slow all day. My boss confirmed my prayer and I left for the bonfire. During this time I still had a pixie hair cut and wore plaid all the time from my comfort place of when I was gay and would dress like a man before Christ. Many people in the church thought I was gay from the first sight, but I loved God and had spent so much of my life dating man after man and later on women. I had been hurt by my father, guys I had dated, and was molested as a child so for my whole life, I had fought against homosexual desires as I grew up in the church. Whenever I moved out on my own though, I fell into manipulating guys to get what I wanted, seeking women, drinking, smoking, sniffing cocaine, and filling my time with anything but God to fill the pain. Well skip forward, I am seeking after God and the only thing that shows my past is my wardrobe. I am enjoying my time with everyone and Cody shows up. During this time Cody was a member of the half-way house, he once was a heroin and meth addict and had by this time sought after Jesus for over a year now. Instantly, I knew that he was to be my husband. Physically I was not attracted to him, which is the only thing I had ever sought for in a person was their looks, but I was attracted to his' devotion to Jesus. There were many confirmations that he was the one as I continued to pray just to make sure. When I was twelve I prayed to God that my husband's birthstone would be the same color as my purity stone and Cody's birthday was the same. Also, Cody's salvation date while in jail was the same date as my birthday. We start dating not even a month later with the approval of my grandfather. After the summer, Cody has graduated from the half-way house and felt called to attend Bible school in Florida while I felt called to go to Texas for the study of the Bible too. During our first six months of dating, we called each other every third day due to our busy schedules with school and work. It was through God's grand plan we made it through the first year with little contact, because even after seeing each other at Christmas I only talked to him whenever I could which was thankfully more than before. It is important to point out that I did not want to back to Texas and leave him, but when I turned on the radio the song "Thy Will be Done" came on and I cried my way back home in obedience. A year of school, I come back for the summer and Cody knew that by this time I was sold on finishing school in Texas before we got married. I still had two years until I graduated with my bachelor's for Biblical studies, and God was telling him to start praying that I would be okay getting married earlier while still in school. Then one day, I was at Subway and the concept of marriage hit me, and I realized that I was not supposed to wait. So, we got engaged in July and married on October 21, 2017! My mother was not in her right mind at the time and God blessed our wedding with a wedding coordinator from our church that blessed me with the perfect wedding I always dreamed of for less than $400! Our wedding was expensive-looking, beautiful, symbolic of the bride and Christ throughout, and even the date as silly as it sounds was set by God through many confirmations and God signs. A friend of ours was going to have their wedding that day but God told them to change it, and it was the only date we could do. My wedding dress was even the dream dress I always desired after watching 'A Walk to Remember' as a little girl. I found my wedding dress at Goodwill for only $100 and even cried which I did not think was actually a thing. After getting married, God opened the doors for me to continue school online, which was not an option for my particular school, but God worked it all. I graduate in June and my husband and I are about to celebrate our second year of marriage. I am so happy when I think of God's design of a faithful marriage in relation to His' love for us! God has shown me that I am loved by Him and can be loved and truly love a man for who He is. It is funny to point out that when we were dating everyone thought we were married and was prophesying over our life together of what was to come. I do not understand what it all means yet, but I do know my husband is called to be a pastor. Personally, I never imagined myself being a leader, and to imagine myself as a leader of a church is frightening but God has got me this far so I trust Him. I APOLOGIZE FOR ALL THE BAD GRAMMAR AND PUNCTUATION!!! I am typing quickly to go to sleep soon before class tomorrow, but I wanted to take the time to reply to this AMAZING testimony!!!! Praise God for your marriage and the grand plans God has for your lives!!!!!
