It’s interesting how you said the comment about fasting. That the lord honours something that’s taken away so we can draw closer to HIM. Also It would be safe to say that in this time in history that a fast from our phones or social media is just as hard as a food fast. Just a thought. Keep up the great work for the lord. I enjoy watching you both interacting and completing each other’s thoughts!My son is 11 and his passion was motocross for 6 years. Some other kids that he raced with bullied him about his terminal illness (brain tumors) so he completely stopped riding. Well, that's very interesting how I found you guys. Just a few days ago, I opened the youtube after a week's away from it. Your video about God writes your love story popped up in my youtube recommendation list. It's not that I have searched this title specifically. I was really amazed coz my friend had just shared her story one day earlier and she said God really wrote her love story. That's the first time I hear people saying that. Here you go, seeing the title, I went and watched it immediately. I would say it's amazing. Mel, you really impressed me, firstly because of your gentle voice. Then it's your commitment to the Lord and your sincerity towards your faith in every aspect of your life. I can really see your heart for the Lord. You really honor God in everything. You said you two even stayed sober when God had clearly shown you whom to marry. You know, after watching the clip of your love story, I did click on testimonies of others' love stories, but I love yours the best. I feel it's just different, maybe because of the sincerity in both of you, or it gives me personal revelations. I love that what God said to you if you just wait on me, I will make you see in the area of man the goodness of the Lord. Your testimonies are amazing. I just love the sincerity and commitment you guys for the Lord. As for me, I want to know more how you can sit in your room and pray for 6 or 7 hrs every day. I kind of understand your struggle of balancing time with God and other things like ministry. Sorry for the long comment, but I really want to share it.

@@RonnieandMel Oh, sorry, I actually found them after I made the comment. Thank you so much for the reply and the series!!! I don't know others, but it has been a struggle for me to keep the routine of prayer during trips. Sometimes it's just hard to find a fixed time and place to spend time with God. I really wonder how people like missionaries and preachers that travel a lot manage to do it. I realize that having focused time with God is just so vital in our daily life. If I don't have it during a trip, I just feel really dry. Again thank you so much for all your sharing!! hello, I'm really confused right now. Mel, what do you believe about chemistry, attraction, romance, etc. in choosing a spouse? You sound like you have a more practical, sober approach (If God is leading you to someone, be with them). Were you passionately in love with Ronnie or did that come with time?

Hi Kelsey. That came with time. The Bible actually says the heart is deceitful above all things and the lie in our culture is that you should follow your heart and what you feel and your emotions. That will always lead to trouble! So yes it was more a sober decision to follow the Lord than some “romance” story. But once I was married I gave Ronnie all my heart and it is wonderful!

Amazing! I honestly feel lead to drop this comment, I think you guys need to do a whole series or at least a video dedicated to boundaries when dating. Hey Ronnie hey Melissa... I have been following you both since the beginning I actually saw Ronnnie on Live with Ryan Reis. I was taken by his story so a few years later I searched for that episode with Ryan because I could not remember Ronnie's name. I wanted to see if he actually stuck with Jesus or not. First search I did looking for him was an interview on TswT. I thought uh oh, he's gone. When I listened to the entire interview I was blown away that in fact Ronnie had grown in God. I continued to follow him and have been blessed to "talk" to both of you via email as I want to go to ihop for the 8 day session because it has seemed to do so much for you both. I need to be revived having been a Christian 25 years I have been in good and bad seasons. I keep praying for editors for you. I thought you had one by now. Here's a question for you.... God knows our end story.... why does He allow us to choose wrong? I pray and have felt the Holy Spirit many times in life. What do you think? Until next time, I continue to hold you both up in prayer and share your shows with my small group as well as using them for opportunity to witness because as I have told you many times... We have blessed to have you here from the very beginning Kory! And yes you wouldn’t believe how many people, unbelievers and believers, were touched from the TSWT video. To quickly answer you question, first thing that comes to mind is that in order for love to be real, there has to be choice. God doesn’t want robots that He forced to love and obey Him. REAL love is voluntarily chosen and fought for. When we choose Him in the hardest season it moves His heart the most!

The way the Holy Spirit works in your lives blows my mind off lol. Anyways, how do you guys get rid/overcome the feeling of laziness and the flesh when seeking Jesus? Do you guys have any scriptures against it/that the Lord uses to encourage you guys if you experience something like this? I thank God that I came across your Channel! All the glory to God. I was being pursued by a Christian man. He thought we were meant to get married and was answered prayer as did I. And was currently watching your podcast here until I got a message from him that he felt like God was telling him no indication that we are meant to get married. I got super confused and heard something different from God a "wait, not right now," stopped the video and started to pray and ask for prayers from my friends to guard my heart and trust God because before being Christian I struggled a lot with relationships and putting myself in ones that weren't healthy. The reason I'm sharing this is where answer prayer comes in is because I finally a week later play this video where I left off and then you talk about how God can change hearts & pull an Isaiah. It just brought peace to my heart and be careful with words. Don't throw around the marriage God, follow the word very closely...those are the only words that aren't deceiving. And how confusion is not of God, so ever since I put up Christian boundaries as you did Mel. Thank you for this video and for encouraging me!!!

So awesome Kendall! The Lord is proud of you for that. And just remember, everything He gives still has to be surrendered, in this case relationships. We said over and over, Lord even if you led us this far into dating, if you say no tomorrow, then it’s done and we know you had a reason and we grew from it. Thanks for your comment, I just dated a guy for a couple months where I fasted and prayed so much for direction at the beginning but then slacked off in my pursuit of the Lord and things got a little weird/not of God, then he ended things and I was so upset. My background is like yours and I think asking others to help pray is SO important not only b/c God answers prayer, but also because it keeps us accountable to other believers who are going to follow up with us about how things are going!! Great help for walking in the light. But yeah. It hurts. Thankful for other believers still, and God's word, to heal and learn hopefully. 💔 + ✝ = ❤

Melissa I would be EXTREMELY GRATEFUL if you would do a video that goes deeper into how you went from model to Christian. Specifically with the whole modesty thing and not finding your worth in your looks and how you made that transition and learned how to love yourself regardless of how you look especially in this world we live in where as women we are daily judged by our looks and all these women are walking around half naked. How do you deal with all of that? I'm really struggling with all of that and would love to hear more details of your story. God bless you both!

I think I will probably talk about it in the Christian life series, when I talk on identity, but it is a great idea! just some advice because I know so many women deal with it, and it’s not like I don’t still have my moments, but first, just by encountering His love, I realized that who cares what others think when He loves me this much! So give yourself to knowing Him. The other thing was I wrote down all my fears, like fear of not being beautiful, fear of rejection, then I wrote down all the scriptures that said the TRUTH that I am beautiful to God, that He will never reject me, and I read those Scriptures over myself every day until I believed it! I also had friends that would remind me what mattered and challenged me to find my identity in Him rather than what I look like! Hope that helps!

I just found your videos last week and I'm hooked I have been binge watching your videos this past week and I have learned a lot I'm not a Christian because I left my church long time ago and I lost trust in Christianity when I found out about the elders misusing the money they got from the people in the church but after watching your videos I'm looking to go back to church but I'm looking for a new church. That’s amazing Ashley! So great to hear. Always remember, Christians are all people. We are broken and in a process of trying to be like Jesus, but far from perfect. So in our lives, we all will probably be hurt/betrayed by other Christians. But Jesus Himself is not that. He IS perfect and He doesn’t betray. So you can trust in Him! Find all your satisfaction in Him and then we will be able to love others, even broken Christians, in the same way He loves us in our brokenness. He loves you and He is rejoicing to have you back with Him! Bless you

Six hours a day in prayer... that's another challenge!!! but I get it. 10 min daily habit of reading Bible is great as well... but we need to go deep and that's why we need summer retreat and praying for over 2 hours. Giving God all. Thank you!

Okay. So I just wanted to say the Lord lead me to your channel through your when god writes your love story. Long story short I’ve been struggling in this area of my life and actually had a breakup a little over a year ago due to boundary issues. When you said that you didn’t even kissed until marriage I lost it! I honestly was beginning to believe that there was not one guy who would respect me enough to do that. I always wanted to be the girl who said what she meant and stuck to it but have sadly found myself to be the opposite. To be the people pleaser out of fear of people leaving. Hearing your testimony (my names melissa too and everyone also calls me Mel so I thought that was funny too) I really feel like God was telling me that it’s not impossible and if a guy doesn’t want to adhere to my boundaries it’s not me that’s the problem it’s him. Thank you so much for your encouragement! I really can’t explain how much God has spoken to me through this channel already. You two are a powerhouse! God bless and thank you so much!

I am for sure in a season of Isolation and I love it a lot, but it is also difficult at times and recently finding some of these KZbinrs of the faith (like you guys) has been really nourishing to my soul. I read the bible, but have yet to find a comfortable fellowship. Hope you keep spreading the word and your walk with Christ, this is really valuable more than words. Love how real you both are about your journey. If I'd met myself a year ago I would've laughed and now I laugh at myself, because I could never live any other way. I'm all in for Jesus Christ. In a way, I think that's the greatest simplification of my own testimony. From the unimaginable to faith.

Wow fasting for dating though...! That's not easy and I don't think I could ever fast for 7 days... let alone 3 days!!! I know we can pray really hard when we fast for many reasons and I heard about it in university... I was in Cru, previously, campus crusader for Christ. I felt really dizzy and weak when I missed meals so I'm worried :/ P.S. If your future wife was praying for it, in that special occasion, yes I understand why you heard that from God!! Some people do use the religion, saying God spoke to you or even use fasting for our own greed (but it's hard to tell from our needs). Thanks for mentioning that danger as well! Sorry for this long comment but hope it can help someone.

And when we say fasted in dating, yes we did fast food during that time, but we mainly fasted all communication, like fasted from each other! And yes, always be safe with fasting food! And some people with medical conditions should not
