For small job shelf line-boring, before I went with the Festool LR32 system, I used the Veritas shelf drilling jig. It was precise and easy, and relatively inexpensive. But I've always lusted for a Blum Minipress or Blum Pro-Center though, alas, I never felt I could justify the expense. I'm glad to see you have the Minipress and enjoy using it. As one of my other favorite KZbinrs might say, "Now that is one skookum tool which really chooches."

Good job . As I 've gotten into cabinetry, these type jigs are a great way to test the waters and see if you want to pursue a certain path, before you spend big . Ron is also right , they are invaluable in the field ..clients sometimes ask for adjustable shelves after the cabinet is in , or an added hinge is needed.

Dear Mr. PAULK, once again this was a very instructive video. I totally agree with you: a job is always better done with the appropriate tool even though if you do not have that tool you may manage to find a way to do the job, but il will be longer and perhaps not as accurate as with the right tool. As for Kreg Tools, I really like the design and the quality of manufaturing of their products: they do the job very well at a very reasonable price. Once again congratulations for your work. Greetings from the land of the smelly cheeses and wines! Pierre-Jean CHARVOLIN

Salut. We have been to France and love it. We are heading to Italy soon and hope to stop off in Paris for a few days. We usually fly from Seattle to Paris and then change planes, so it's easy to have a layover. We spent a week in Paris a few years ago after a week in Bordeaux. In Paris, we stayed in a small hotel on Rue Cler right above the market. We did not want to leave and promised ourselves a return trip with a longer stay.

Ah, M. Charvolin, zut alors! When working on cabinetry and fittings, I love to listen to recordings of the plays of Molière, and for music, nothing is better to accompany fine woodworking and finish carpentry than something by Lully or Rameau or Charpentier.

Dear Mr. PAULK, thanks a lot for repplying to my comment. This is the second time you do so and I do appreciate that (especialy tbe greeting in French). Italy is a great destination for a vacation, there is much to see and enjoy: just as much as in France not to say more. I am a quarter Italian on my mother's side so I am a bit partial. I have been many times to mainland Italy, but not to Sardigna or Sicily yet. I will in the future. Next time you come for a vacation in France, why do not you arrange a meeting with some of your French/European KZbin followers/subscribers? I can tell you that you do have quite a few. If you need assistance, I would be happy to help you organizing such an event. Once again thank you very much for sharing the building of your new mobile workshop, the SMART. I am very looking forward to watching the video series on this wonderfull project. Have a good summer! Yours faithfully, Pierre-Jean CHARVOLIN

Hi Paul I agree with you on the Micro Fence jig, it's the best. I also bought it at the Toronto woodworking show 8 years ago.

Hi Ron, Just want to know I really look up to you and your videos. I really would like to be a skilled carpenter like you some day. I'm 23 and I am a handyman that would like to be a finish carpenter. Right now i work as a sub for a contractor as well, where I am learning how to finish a home. I also have been watching your videos and taking advantage of as much free or inexpensive training as I can. Thanks for your channel and don't stop putting out such great content.

Blum makes an Ecodrill for doing the 35mm cup hinge drilling with the 8mm holes. Works really well, however not cheap.

This is the same one. In this video I demonstrate is as a hardware install jib, but the inline 32mm system holes are drilled with the attachments that come with the True Position deluxe kit. This has been my goto for all things 32mm in the field and now that I have sold my Blum Press it is in fact the only hole drilling tool I own. kzbin.info/www/bejne/f5azqp6Do7OffJY

Ron I was wondering what the handle and knob tool was called and where I could find it. The one with the blue metal plates and black rail. I didn't see a link to it in the description. Great video thanks

I'm early in a career in millwork and finish carpentry. I'm investing in tools to produce built-in cabinetry more accurately and more efficiently. Currently debating between Festool's LR32 system, or a line boring machine. Thanks for this review. It's challenging to know where to drop the limited funds sometimes. Would really like to hear your advice on finishing cabinets. I do a lot of work in occupied homes. Do you invest the time in masking in the house? Or do you finish in your shop?

Thanks for the video! I'm a hobby woodworker but would love to have some kind of mobile workshop. My current shop is only 200 sq ft so floor standing tools are generally out of the equation (except for a miter saw, table saw, a dust collector, and a handful of bench top tools for milling) for me. What do you think about the Slide Pro from FastCap for mounting drawer slides?

Thanks for the info & links , very useful. When you are building cabinets or anything for that matter do you usually use metric or imperial measurements?

Hi Ron, I noticed when you were showing the blum machine that you had an older kreg foreman pocket hole machine. Is that the pneumatic or the electric model? I had recently bought the pneumatic machine from a guy who had a cabinet shop and I really like it but its markings were all worn off. I was wondering if you wouldn't mind taking some pictures of your machines markings for me so I can use it to its full potential? Right now I am only able to use it for 3/4" wood. Thanks Ron, I love your videos and thanks for all the knowledge that you pass on.

Before I started watching, I looked at how long the video was and was leery, but like 5 minutes in I lost track of the time. Great info Ron, thanks for that. Close to the end, for some strange reason, I had this vision of you going all "Casey Neistat" and tossing your tools into a bin or onto the table! Haha Thanks for not doing that! Cheers.
