Ron, I grew up as a passenger in all of Dad's trucks over the years. Your backing skills are always a treat to watch. You've come the closest to my late father's skills, IMHO. That one way road, on a hill, with curves, with snow and ice...I'm sure that it had your attention. If there happens to be any footage of getting out of this job site, it would be great to see it as one of your Tuesday extra videos. Continued prayers of safety for all of you.

Granted I don’t do stuff as heavy as you but one thing I keep in my gear are 5 foot chains with grab hooks with latches on one end and nothing on the other makes life easier when I I can feed them though almost anything as long as the chain fits and then I can make loops wherever I need them. I call them my universal size shackles

Where we live is a very nice area, hardly any traffic not many neighbors and plenty of deer. We don't hunt but I put corn out everyday for them to come and have a snack. At times you may only see a few but other days over 15 of them. Last night the doe came up with her babies and a buck came walking up and she chased him off.

I used to live in an area where the roads were maintained only by the equivalent of an HOA. I'm fairly sure they laid the roads out by following a cow through the woods. When we first moved there, we were just about the only house out of nearly 150 along the lake that lived there full time year round. They had a sign at the entrance to the lake stating that there was a 3ton weight limit from 1-DEC to 1-APR just because of the likelyhood of an incident like this happening and just how poor the road base actually was at withstanding heavy loads even under ideal conditions. At least out there if a driver had gotten themself into a similar situation as this, it wouldn't necessarily be the lake to catch the truck but instead original growth oak and hickory trees.
