I've only been able to find season 2 on DVD. It's such a great show I haven't been able to find the rest of it??? The emotions shown for such small scenes is amazing. Saw then Andy Jr got killed and the last 30 seconds of the episode was very emotional When Andy Sr had to see his own son as one of the victims.

The camera movement on this show was groundbreaking (as was the show). I remember watching the first few episodes when it was originally released here in the UK. The camera movements left me a bit seasick but once I got used to the technique I realised the craftmanship. You felt as if you were a part of the drama. Excellent show, not seen anything as good since.

I wouldn't call it fear. Sipowicz just knows that Sinclair is pure evil and has no boundaries whatsoever. Andy has the balls to battle him anywhere anytime. Because it's the right thing to do and on another level he gets to be a prick to Sinclair.

Only in a television drama. Any police officer in real life who had this sort of emotional outburst in court, mild as Andy's reaction is, would soon have a long list of suspects he arrested acquitted. I think the more realistic response is the way John Clark responded on the stand when it was brought out in court he'd slept with a suspect.

Never seen a television program with such human characters. Even their flaws are compelling. The show along with ER during it's era or probably best we've ever seen of drama in television. Just look at where Andy started off. He was a deplorable drunk and a racist cop. Look where he was up in the end and if earned it happens over 11 years. And the way we lost Jimmy Smits on that program was about as moving as it gets. I honestly can't think of a bad character or bad storyline. Steven bochco and the other creators show us something that I hope will be around a long time just like currently there are movies from the 1930s that we have an appreciation and affection for

It’s worth remembering that Casey Siemaszko (Fraker in this role) played Jerry in Three O’Clock High in 1987. That movie gave nerds everywhere hope that one day they could beat up a bully too. This role... yeah not so much. He was a serious snake in the grass. I’ve always thought an actor who can make you really despise their character does a fantastic job. Casey nailed it with Captain Fraker.

@buckflessner30233 жыл бұрын
Fraker knew Andy was living with Connie, so Sinclair knew it also. I thought it was unrealistic that Sinclair never brought that up during this exchange. Could have said Rodriguez either knew about this and allowed it or should have known, breaking more rules. Then Sinclair could have used how the entire squad spent work hours interviewing the Colohan's former neighbors and empolyees during Andy and Connie's custody case, spending work time on personal business. If nothing else Sinclair would have enjoyed using the info to embarrass Andy.

I don’t know, maybe it’s the times. There’s no telling the bad guys from the good guys these days, because it’s all about feelings and depth of character and the men doing the bad stuff have just as much to offer as the men doing the good stuff. They’re all entertaining, they’re all having fun. But really, an adulterer, carrying a grudge, drunk out of his mind, came in and shoots someone and it’s the man he shot facing charges? In this series, it happens more than it should. It’s open and shut. Impressionable minds shouldn’t be seeing this.

Not sure what the vigorous trial would be about, there was no question he shot the Lt. and was about to finish him off when he was shot. Did in the middle of the squad, with a witness who is also a detective. Justice system is garbage at times but I don't think this would be much of a trial. None of that stuff with Andy had anything to do with him trying to murder the Lt.

He blackmailed a IAB officer that was investigating his lieutenant (all be on trumpet of charges) and I'm also finding out that this squad has a not good history in the department. I will try to push for lesser charges because the person who shot lieutenant Rodriguez was under emotional distress.
