I grew up in California, but have lived in the New Jersey/NewYork area since 1967. I had forgotten how nice it was to go camping on public lands and the relative freedom they provided. Back East most land is private so finding a secluded campsite with the ability to fish a stream and prepare a campfire are rare and precious. Thank you for your videos and reminders of my childhood and teens.

I couldn't imagine life without our public lands and it sad that they are constantly under attack, its an import resource that needs protecting. Thank you so much for watching. Jason

You don't make a big deal about it but you have some solid camp skills. Some people make a big deal about the camp but your smoothing it. As an older Outdoorsman I appreciate your methods. A good fire, food and your four legged companions make for quite the weekend. I think Hemingway said any man that eats desert doesn't drink enough. I love the way you mix in the drone footage and make it feel natural.

I'm loving your videos. It's amazing how you find so many gorgeous backcountry campsites that offer peace and solitude - something all too rare in today's society. Even campgrounds are often overrun with kids and noise, but you seem to have found the solution for that. It's nice to see how much you enjoy the outdoors.

You are so happy and free (minus that moment when you had to go back to make a living lol). Anyways this right here is when you are amazing!!! You have inspired me more than I can ever tell you or ever thank you for! You have reminded so many that being out in nature can heal the heart and refresh the soul!! If you ever EVER question why you do what you do....watch this video again! That smile and calmness in your heart is so prevalent here!!! Thank you a million times over!! 💗

Yeah Buddy! There's one or 67 fish in there! Way to slay a nice little Crooked rainbow. Nick would be proud of your fire safety techniques. Nice relaxing spot for sure. Nothing like a wet dog, eh?! lol. Great excuse to get in the river..."Oh, I need the right angle shot"! Bacon makes the world go round! Oh yeah...puppy's want some! Keeping an eye out for fatwood while your out there? Stunning video as always my Oregon Brother. TFS.

Thank You, I think the fishing might have been better two or three weeks earlier the water is starting to get a bit low. The dogs really enjoyed the river but thankfully they were dried out before bed time. There is piles fat wood in that area, I didn't gather any because its so abundant that get it as needed. Jason

Great videography Jason. Loving the drone work. My drone took the death dive and I am re-assessing the whole drone thing since I can't fly anywhere. That looks like a perfect spot. Maybe on the list for when I come down. Your photos are reaching epic level too.

Great video as always. I love watching your approach which is different from mine which is largely due to our laws. In summer open fires are often banned. I don't take a gun because they are illegal. In an area such as the one you are in I would use my swag and tarp. In a more accessible area I would probably take my teardrop camper providing I didnt have to really go off road. I am glad you enjoyed your weekend. Thank you for sharing and I look forward to your next video.
@PrimalOutdoors
@PrimalOutdoors 7 жыл бұрын
Thanks, John. We all have are own way of doing things and some of that is person preference and some has to do with regulations. I feel very lucky that I can still freely carry a gun in this country, even though chances I would actually have to use it for anything more than some good ole plinking. It won't be long be for the fire bans start here for the summer, but luckily its just for the summer once we get into Fall they remove them again. I think a tear drop would be fun to have. Jason

Hi, I met you this morning up at the zip line parking area. Spring Creek is one of the worst mosquito areas in Klamath County, along with the headwaters of the Wood River, which is just west of where you were. Another super-bad area is up in the Gearhart's, especially at Lee Thomas Meadow. I guess it is the price you pay for visiting some of the most beautiful areas in Oregon!

Here in California, I sold out everything to do with traveling off grid. Too many people, too stressful, vulnerable feeling while sleeping. Our drought has gone on so many years most our trees are dead. Hardly any pine smell can be detected anymore. These past 50 years came an gone for me. I just last week bought a two seater Roadster to explore with the intention keeping to mostly day trips for a while. As for photography, I mostly use my cell phone. I follow the KISS principle I guess. My photos an/or video transfer easily to my Ipad Pro as I do not own a desktop computer. Guess thats it. Good stuff!

I learned through hours and hours of watching KZbin tutorials on Adobe Premiere. I started out on Windows Movie maker but it doesn't appear to come with windows anymore. You might be able to download it still though. Jason

What's the app called? I looked up back country navigator and I wasn't sure which one you use. I love the videos!

Its called Backcountry Navigator on Android not sure about IOS, and the free version works in most cases though I did buy a couple of useful addons for mine. Jason

On average, how far do you drive to get to these wonderful spots?

Notice your sidearm, do you always carry? I guess it's better to have it and not need it, to need it and not have it. Great video like always.

I do carry most of the time. I have only used it so far to scare off some coyotes that were bothering my dogs. Most of the time it is unneeded, but I still carry it just in case. Jason

Great vid...your drone work adds a great dimension..hard to believe only 20 years ago or so you would have to hire a helicopter and crew at thousands of dollars to get the same

Yeah, and I am afraid on the budget I have for my KZbin channel I wouldn't be able to afford that, lol. I am really glad you enjoy the drone shots, I also like the extra dimension it adds to my videos. Jason

back country navigator? is that an app or something else I'm not familiar with? Oregon? are you near Cody's from Wranglestar?
@PrimalOutdoors
@PrimalOutdoors 7 жыл бұрын
Backcountry Navigator is an mapping app you can get for your phone and I use pretty heavily, you can download topo map to your phone so even if you don't have signal you can still use the app. I don't know exactly where Cody lives but from what I can gather he lives a couple hours northwest of me.
