I grew up in California, but have lived in the New Jersey/NewYork area since 1967. I had forgotten how nice it was to go camping on public lands and the relative freedom they provided. Back East most land is private so finding a secluded campsite with the ability to fish a stream and prepare a campfire are rare and precious. Thank you for your videos and reminders of my childhood and teens.

I couldn't imagine life without our public lands and it sad that they are constantly under attack, its an import resource that needs protecting. Thank you so much for watching. Jason

You don't make a big deal about it but you have some solid camp skills. Some people make a big deal about the camp but your smoothing it. As an older Outdoorsman I appreciate your methods. A good fire, food and your four legged companions make for quite the weekend. I think Hemingway said any man that eats desert doesn't drink enough. I love the way you mix in the drone footage and make it feel natural.

Great video as always. I love watching your approach which is different from mine which is largely due to our laws. In summer open fires are often banned. I don't take a gun because they are illegal. In an area such as the one you are in I would use my swag and tarp. In a more accessible area I would probably take my teardrop camper providing I didnt have to really go off road. I am glad you enjoyed your weekend. Thank you for sharing and I look forward to your next video.
@PrimalOutdoors7 жыл бұрын
Thanks, John. We all have are own way of doing things and some of that is person preference and some has to do with regulations. I feel very lucky that I can still freely carry a gun in this country, even though chances I would actually have to use it for anything more than some good ole plinking. It won't be long be for the fire bans start here for the summer, but luckily its just for the summer once we get into Fall they remove them again. I think a tear drop would be fun to have. Jason

Hi, I met you this morning up at the zip line parking area. Spring Creek is one of the worst mosquito areas in Klamath County, along with the headwaters of the Wood River, which is just west of where you were. Another super-bad area is up in the Gearhart's, especially at Lee Thomas Meadow. I guess it is the price you pay for visiting some of the most beautiful areas in Oregon!

Here in California, I sold out everything to do with traveling off grid. Too many people, too stressful, vulnerable feeling while sleeping. Our drought has gone on so many years most our trees are dead. Hardly any pine smell can be detected anymore. These past 50 years came an gone for me. I just last week bought a two seater Roadster to explore with the intention keeping to mostly day trips for a while. As for photography, I mostly use my cell phone. I follow the KISS principle I guess. My photos an/or video transfer easily to my Ipad Pro as I do not own a desktop computer. Guess thats it. Good stuff!
