Another thing to consider with side vents, if you drive dusty roads leave only the top vent open and it will create positive air pressure in the trailer, keeping dust out from the doors.

They do make replacement roof vent covers.... plus fans that fit in there

Yes, and we gladly replace those for our customers regularly. With cargo trailers, some prefer more easily maintained side vents that don’t risk failure as badly. Thank you for your comment!

Thanks for the video. Looks like the aluminum ones will not stop rain from entering where the plastic ones have a built in guard. Is that true? Also a side question. You have flat top and round top trailers. Any advantages of either? Do the round top give you more head room? Are the heights specified mean wall height or center of trailer height? Appreciate the help!

Thank you for your questions -- re: aluminum vs plastic... the aluminum are adjustable so that if your foresee going through rain w your trailer you can adjust airflow to minimize exposure and still allow better airflow, or you can just close them altogether and everything is kept safe and dry. Re: rounded vs. flat top, it's honestly more aesthetic than it is purpose but there is less drag with a rounded top -- interior height measurements are determined by side walls. Harper, first off you are adorable! Second, I am thinking of purchasing a cargo trailer this summer and dread having any holes cut into a one-piece roof. Do you suppose that having 8 Salem vents installed in all eight corners (4 at bottom and 4 along the top) would do the job of moving hot air out as good as one roof vent? Thanks! 🙂

That would DEFINITELY open the space up inside the trailer. Would need to consult manufacturer to see what they recommend.

Thank you for the info but How would you recommend closing up the top area where the original vent was if I choose yo make the change in vents? I'm truly considering this because the vents are entirely too flimsy. I've been seeking a heavier, more sturdy type bit they all look the same which is said to say!

Gets pretty hot here in Tennessee. Any recommendations venting while trailer is just sitting. I’ll have gas power striping machines and paint to strip parking lots. Any thing solar out there you could recommend or not recommend. Thanks!

Yes! You can add a “Fantastic Fan” to your trailer, but you will need to make sure you have additional power supply added with a portable generator while you’re sitting still. The other option is to add an RV door with screen to produce passive airflow. It’s hard to escape heat. Good luck!

Those pesky critters! Dirt-dobbers and wasps love nesting in areas like ventilation openings and in the corners of my grandma’s porch! The only thing I can think to do is to close the vents when your trailer isn’t being used to store or transport items. These aluminum side vents are very handy in those situations. Thanks for asking!

@@imnew2nm324 and, yet again, you’re over shooting your mark! Two air vents are located on the unit: one at the upper driver’s side of the front corner and another on the lower passenger’s side. That placement allows cross ventilation which is superior to a single roof vent that eventually dry-rots and breaks apart as it becomes brittle from UV exposure. Both side vents can open in an intake or outtake manner.

Yea, good video. But is not learning you that. Is teaching you that. Is just proper English.The lid doesn’t disengage (disappear) it become dry, it cracks/bakes and it falls part. If the lid of the vent flies off, it can be replace, you don’t need to change the entire roof vent

Some folks prefer not to have the worry of future vent lid replacements and much prefer these side vents that can be adjusted for airflow. Thank you for watching our video and sharing your thoughts!
